- The 2019 C7 is the final year of the front engine Corvette from Chevrolet. On the outside of the Grand Sport you will discover the wider body of the Z06, 19/20in wheels and tons of functional venting. On the inside you are greeted by an 8in infotainment system and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 producing 460HP. Is the C7 Corvette Grand Sport a BETTER V8 sports car than a 2024 Ford Mustang GT?

A Corvette that looks like a Corvette, just take my money.
I would say that the C8 and C7 look somewhat similar from the front. When I'm driving my C8 which I'm used to looking at and approach a C7 GS or Z06 in the opposite direction, they briefly look like a C8 until they get closer.

The C7 is an awesome generation of Corvette! And to answer the question, I’d say the ‘Vette is definitely better than the 2024 Mustang!
4:40 I’m with you right there. The Mustang is the only muscle car left standing. I’m not sure why it’s considered as a sports car, it’s still a pony car like it was back in the day.
But the mustang comes with a manual transmission. My brother prefers a Corvette but after every single time he drives my mustang he tells me he hates how the new Corvette doesn't have a manual transmission.

2016 C7 corvette owner with 100k. I put 90k on it in 5 years I can't stop driving this amazing vehicle. I haven't had any issues.
Should have never traded it on a C8. Miss my manual

I actually had this exact consideration recently. My C7 Z06 was stolen in April. My settlement from my insurance company wasn't enough to get me back into a Z06 without borrowing money which I didn't want to do. So I considered a few Mustang models (Dark Horse, Mach 1) and the Grand Sport. I went with a 2019 Grand Sport. No regrets. The Z06 was a whole other animal and I am heartbroken to lose that car. But the GS is a nice consolation prize.

Absolutely beautiful Corvette ! ---- I don't know about (BETTER) in performance but the C7 Corvette is probably Better from the (more fun to drive) catagory and will probably get you a lot more looks from the girls as you cruise the streets on Saturday Night ! There are literally tons of Mustangs out there so even a MustangGT is just another Mustang out on the street. JMO !

I love the C7. The style is nearly a decade old, if not already a decade old. The design still holds up after all that time. The problem with getting them right now is that you can’t find many low mileage ones(sub 15k), the prices are a little on the unreasonable side, and used car rates are absolutely horrid. I’d love to get a Grand Sport 2LT or 3LT, but $75k+ is ridiculous for a 5+ year old car. That engine sound is phenomenal. I wish things were different :/

My 2019 Grand Sport is the last of the "classic" Corvettes (front engine/rear drive) and I love it!

I had a C4, consider the C6 its an awesome car and it’s one of the few that got away from me and good luck with whatever you decide, C6 and C7 are both awesome.

I was considering C7s and C8s, but ended up really enjoying the Dark Horse and went with that. My wife and I are looking forward to celebrating our 10-Year Anniversary at the Dark Horse Track Attack. Can’t wait!!!
I drive a Skyline R34, first time i saw a c7 was while i was living in Japan in 2021. Since then i decided i'm buying a C7 once i move to States. And yeah i want a Grand Sport C7, and i have watched all your C7 videos multiple times. Best reviewer 💯💯💯

It's much better proportioned than the current Corvette. My favorite is the 69 Corvette.

Bought a 2015 C7 3LT in 2019 for $37K with 50K miles on it. 2 years later prices were crazy for all used cars but the C7 prices were like 30-60% higher and I sold it to Carmax for $39K. Still regret that but I had my fun and then bought an suv for more practicality. When prices for C7 grand sports drop into the mid to low $40Ks might have to grab another.
They are not going to drop in price, 447. The FE Vette is more desirable for most.

I bought a used 2016 Z51 C7 convertible with 7 speed manual a couple of years ago (with magnetic ride damper option, blacked out wheels & carbon fiber package). I also considered a new 2023 Mustang which I’ve also been a fan of but after driving was really no comparison. The Vette is much more of a special experience to drive & own.

I got me a 2019 GS in blue auto transmission wanted it in manual but kept it for the wife to drive sometimes. I’m so addicted to it I can’t get enough of it. I so scared and creeping to another one why did u see the Naturally aspirated C7R GT3 edition in 2017 oh my goodness, literally been dreaming of a GTR all my life but this one came and sweeeeeped me off me feet man there’s no looking back

When you shop c7 if you go for the manual not only your getting the best version but from recent trends your saving quite a bit of money over the automatic as fewer people know how to even drive a stick anymore

I own a 2017 black grand sport manual Joe. I've driven a 2023 mustang gt. The vette is WAY better. Getting a c8 zo6 soon. Corvettes rule with the handling and looks.

If I wasn't such a legend, and didn't own the C7 Z06, in Velocity Yellow Tintcoat, "The Hero Car", with a 7-speed manual, I would consider the Gran Sport. It is an acceptable choice, unless you're me.

How bad is the AFM (active fuel management) lifter failure on the ‘19 model 6.2 engine?
I have a 2019 GS, but I mainly drive it in manual...if it's in auto I have the module that keeps AFM from activating. But yes, I hate that AFM is even an issue lol

Hey Joe I got a question for you. I no you got a C4 corvette. You told the story how the C4 was your first car. My question is why did you not get a C7 corvette. A comparison of the C7 against the Supra / Z4 would be interesting, since those are probably the closest you can get in a new car now that the C8 is mid engine.
