I had a 1969 Daytona Yellow Stingray when I was a senior in high school in 1988. Now I'm 53, retired, and have a 2014 Laguna Blue Stingray, exactly like the one you reviewed a couple years back.
Very Nice. I love the Blue đ Vet
Right on for the muscle car in high school!
In high school (graduated in 1991) I drove a 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T. 440 Magnum and 727 Transmission. Sold it in 1997 for $7,300.
I had a 72 454 coupe back in the day
Now I'm older than dirt and I have a 2016 Stingray coupe.
I still miss my old 72.
Those body lines are so simple, clean and elegant.
I'm from California so the pre smog cars are also valuable. Anything 75 and before you can put any engine you want in your car. California can't do anything about it.
@@comicrandomness3289 I'm in California too.
Really timeless for sure David
@@comicrandomness3289that is an excellent point
@@davidp2888 okayyy!!!!
The C3 is a legend!
Now that's a Vette!
You better believe it
The lines on the C3's are just đ Best looking corvette and one of the most gorgeous car to ever grace the road.
It is just so timeless
What a beautiful car.
You have good taste!
â@@RaitisRidesJow, I thought you were going to review a new car.
And here it is. The C3 Corvette is my dream car. My brother had a 1976 when I was a kid, and I loved it!
That is so awesome!
The golden era of Corvettes was the 60âs-early 80âs. Split window has always been my favorite
I bought my wife her birth year 1970 Corvette manual 454 with AC and T top. Our engine bay has a bit more chrome. It was born in Donnybrook green color, but a custom paint job was done in 1983 and it was airbrushed with a Star Wars/Atari video game look. It has a T fighter on the hood flying towards you and on the inside of the hood the T fighter is flying away from you. 40+ awards later the lacquer paint is showing its age, but now it's a surviver. We love the theme too much to get it painted. We still have people oogle over the car! It's still stock except for mufflers and some handling stuff.
Why in the hell would you buy your wife a sports car like a corvette, itâs a manâs car not a females or both and women donât know how to use a manual transmission so next time buy her a regular street car đ
Joe that is a truly amazing and beautiful car. If I ever hit the lottery. đ
Hey you never know!
Oh yeah!! *ON THROTTLE* !!!!
i'D DRIVE that thing around more than any new car today.
Oh my goodness....The character, class, and history behind it. What a beautiful piece. Very nice review!!!!
You are so very right about that
Hey Joe this C3 corvette is truly a classic. And itâs in very good shape. Thank you Joe for another great review.đđŸđ
You are so very welcome Jeffery
Classic American Icon
You hit the nail on the head Bryan!
The Corvette and the Grand Cherokee are the LEGENDS of the World. There is nothing stronger and bigger.
Oh, C3 is my fav!!!!! Thanks JoeâŠâŠthis put a big smile on my face đ I must have this. đ
Iâm so glad that I could share it with you Tom
My Dad had a 63 Vet then a 69 Vet both of them are my favorite. Very BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for the video another great video
To a car crazy kid born in 1967, this is and always will be the Corvette, especially in red.
C3 is the first one I think of when you say Corvette. Gorgeous! Thanks for this.
Beautiful Car , C3 definitely a legendary look.
Thanks for the great review of a true classic!!
Monza Red sure looks good. Classic peach right here. Thanks for reviewing this one Joe. Good to see something old-school like this. She's definitely rad and in superb condition.
I love the c3, another great video Joe
Thanks for letting me share it with you
Just makes me smile,thanks
That is so fantastic to hear! You deserve it!đ
Pay no attention to the stop signs, Joe. đ

Holy Wow!

Beautiful classic car glad you got this beauty 1970 Corvette with 454 LS5 V8 Under the hood amazing sound bro
Absolutely beautiful car, we need more reviews like this Joe and Steven!
Thank youâ€
Now we are TALKIN'!!!!! Biggest Chevy Big Block #454
Love this video Joe! I have a 71 454 LS5 4spd Coupe in Bridgehampton Blue. Had a frame on done 12 years back and the drivetrain is all original with 88k miles on it. They are so much fun to drive and a great throwback to those days. Nothing like the smell of fuel being dumped into a carburetor!! The back window was also nicknamed a sugar scoop window as thatâs what it resembles. Also, not sure if you knew the rear window pops out and fits into a large glove box like tray in the back. Itâs not that easy getting them back in though. Besides the headlights popping up the windshield wipers are hidden as well and pop out when in use. If youâre ever in NJ more than welcome to take mine for a run!! The C3 Big Blocks were the best with the LT-1 as well. Theyâre still undervalued in todayâs collector car market.
What beauty and the sound of that cam...thanks Joe.
I love the C3 Corvetteâs!!! I have owned one for over 25 years!! Iâm really glad you reviewed this one and took it for a spin!!!! Also Love the channel!!!
That is a awesome car brings back a lot of memories when I was a kid a guy in the neighborhood had one we thought he was the coolest. Not sure if I could drive today with no driver aids. Thank you for sharing.đđđ
It's a classic but prefer modern type vehicles.
You can add modern conveniences to these cars and '75 and before are presmog as in you can place any engine in your car, even in California. That's why they are classics. They can easily compete with these modern cars. Also pop up headlights are the best kind of headlights in my opinion. Can't get that in modern cars anymore unfortunately.
Love your car video
Iâm glad you are always here!
Old school big block.. Miss those round taillights⊠RIP
One of the greatest of all time
I owned a 1972 Ontario orange with saddle colored leather interior 454 4sp. Bone stock. That was in 1977. In later years, had a C5,C6, and now a C7.
Thank You For Sharing ! Brings Back Memories Of Remarkable Times.
My pops had a C3 corvette. My brother and I plan to restore it one day!
Not sure any Corvette is as iconic as the C3 (and I own a C5, lust after a C2). Such cool cars.
yes yes yes this car pulls up you know your gonna have fun
Oh mercy! I'll bet your neighbor Bill in Naples (Curious Cars) would love to have this in his inventory, or his former employer Autohaus Of Naples. This would also be a great car to profile for Adam (Rare Classic Cars And Automotive History). I'll bet the torque of that 454 can't be beat. A perfect song for Dream Giveaway, imo, would be "I Can Dream About You" by Dan Hartman (RIP! đą). Speaking of Prince, "Raspberry Beret" is one of my favorites, the original, and as covered by Warren Zevon (RIP! đą) and his friends from R.E.M.
I had a â71 LT-1, 4:11 gears, M-22 ârock crusherâ trans. My next door neighbor had a â70 LT-1 with the same 4:11 and M-22. Did we ever have some great rides!!! But we never dreamed they would someday be considered ho-hum in acceleration. My 2017 Malibu Premier 2.0 liter turbo 4 cylinder is quicker to 60 (at 5.7 seconds) than my 71 but not quite as quick as his 70. And a new C8 Vette will do it in 2.9 seconds with the base engine. This gorgeous 1970 454 takes 6.3. How technology has advanced.
Thatâs a classic
You better believe it
@@RaitisRides yes sir
I really like the '68/'69 Vettes, but this '70 is absolutely GORGEOUS!!
Love that Stingray Corvette
Love the C3 454! My fave classic would be the C2 67 with 427 4spd.
Now we are talking
An amazing classic car. As a tall person at 6â4â, Iâm about 4â too tall for this one. In my next life Iâll be able to drive one. đ
You could if you buy a vert.
The 454 big block in the C3 should make it a lot faster than 0 to 60 in six seconds. From what I understood it was one of the fastest Corvettes or muscle car to come out of that era and one of the best handling because it was light weight.
If you still have it, the rear window comes out as well. Try that w/ the tops off for an even better ride!
A beautiful car. But to have a 454, 4-speed and AC! I fortunately have many memories of these cars. I went shopping for one in the early 70s. Test drove many new and used versions. I never found that combination; the closest was a 71 454 with AC, but it was an automatic. Although I wanted a 4 speed, I needed AC more since I lived in a hot, humid area. So, I ended up with an automatic. The C3 was one of the best cars I have owned - trouble free, no leaks (most cars leaked after a few years - seals weren't like they are now) - and that Turbo-Hydramatic 400 was bullet proof.
This video is such an amazing treat!
This looks awesome too bad im only 16 and i dont think you can actually win anything until your 18 no matter what it is but that corvette is definitely a great looking car that looks like its been really restored and taken care of big respect to whoever either took care of this car if its a survivor or restored it back to its former glory. Even though the accord i have rn its probably better daily driver and lets be real i dont need a corvette but do i want one one day when im making some bank yes i would also have to learn how to drive stick if i somehow won this but thats already on the bucket list of things i wanna do in my lifetime. Overall extremely clean beautiful example of a Classic Vette and to whoever wins this should keep it that way but not garage queen it and enjoy it and drive it. Awesome Review from Rati as always your welcome. Have a great day and stay safe.
I grew up with the C3 generation Corvette as the current model. So I will always have a soft spot for them. The 1968-72 models were great performers.
You are very lucky!
Joe, you forgot to call that trans â the rock crusherâ ⊠just kidding , enjoyed the video thanks
W
Yes of course & I buy this classic car 1 day.
She is a beauty!!!
Yep back then.. I was still a kid at 8yo...
Always loved the looks, which used to be worth the price. These days I just can't justify it.
Joe, if we ever get a chance to go back in time, we're going to have to rename the window roller and call it a "window regulator". It just seems like a more proper name. đ
I like the way you think
The C3 optional "N14" side mounted exhaust (sidepipes) were ONLY a 1969 option...
Even though many owners added them.
Starting in 1970 the fenders were more flared so the factory sidepipes became only a 1 year option.
Thanks for that great info
@@RaitisRides
I've got a '69 Riverside Gold L36 big block T-top M21 4-speed coupe with the factory sidepipes, that's how I knew, lol
đȘđđ đșđžđ
I did a complete 7 year frame-off resto on it, spare time of course...
It won 6 years in a row @ "Corvettes at CORSA" competing against 200-250 other Vettes at the Corsa Performance Exhaust main facility in Berea Ohio from 2014 - 2019, the last year I took it there... I'm sure you'd love it! đ
Their trophies are really cool, made out of their stainless steel exhaust tips...
I'd share photos if it was possible.
In 1971 they offered the solid lifter, aluminum head 454 with 425 HP!
This is very true Bill!
Joe, I had a 72 Coup, 350ci, Hooker Headers, HURST Competition Plus linkage ( much shorter throws), factory side pipes, it was silver with grey Cregar mags, man oh man, do I wish I had it back !!!!, few people know thats the only Vette where the back window was removable, and storable
Add a modern 6 speed manual trans and modern tires that 13.9sec 1/4 mile will be a mid to high 12sec 1/4 mile time.
Yeah. 1970 tires vs 2024 tires make a difference. Not only do you get wider tires on a Honda nowadays, but the rubber compound is much better.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video đ
Thanks brother
Wow, what a beauty
Beautiful vehicle. Chevyyyy. đȘđ»
Every 10th year anniversary of the Corvette those cars are unique! And no 1983! đą
I would gladly trade my mk8 GTI interior for this one.
No ABS, no stability control, no auto-braking= TONS of fun! đ€Ł
Little Debbie or Twinkie pouches on passenger sideâŠ. No way! Iâm sold.
In 1970 a passenger side mirror was an option, rust proofing was an option.
Nice Joe!
Great video. Thanks for taking us on thottle
Nice colour
Amazing review Joe.
I took my dad's 1971 chevelle. 307, but it was a sedan.đ I remember when it was new in the showroom!!â€
Oh wow! That is really awesome!
Test drive The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, next?. You might like that Icon, Raiti`s Rides?
gotta keep a rag so you don't get no gas on that paint.
Nice. Very nice đđŒđđŒđđŒ
I had a feeling you would like this one Bob.
Now.... If they could only take the current Vette's mechanical bits and wrap them in a 1970 Vette body! This car is beautiful! Can't say that about the current McClaren. Err.... Corvette.
I'd love to know where you get those 13.9 1/4 mile stats. Don't get me wrong, I love this car. I just question the data.
We all know a guy...i knew a guy with '70 454, 4 spd, 390 hp, blue interior. I was always so jelly
Very beautiful sound
I totally agree with you
My first choice would be a 67 427. Second choice is this. Third is a 63 split window fuelie.
Great taste đ
1970 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray 454 Restored T-Top Coupe!
You nailed it again brother!
Beautiful car đđŒ
Corvette is the best yours
Sorry if I make someone mad but IMO the mid 60's Corvette Stingrays top this C3 in eye catching looks but this is a very squared away C3 and there are probably only a handfull out there that are in this condition. Never owned one of these but I've had friends that did and when in good repair they are fun to drive. The chrome metal bumpers you talked about on this front bumper seems to have a slight issue on the tip of its snout in that it appears misshapen as I recall they were slightly more rounded than this and this one may have been bent and repaired? JMO !
Everyone is definitely going to have their favorites. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion.
I've been smoking cigarettes since I was 8 y.o., close to a pack a day since 16 y.o., I'm 31 now still smoking and man I regret it. Listen to Joe boys & girls, don't smoke cigarettes.
Sorry man. Looks like you don't have many years left to live
My uncle traded his 79 Z/28 plus $1500 for a 70 triple black 454 Vette!!đź In 1984.
That is nuts! Does he still have it?
@@RaitisRides unfortunately, no he doesn't still have the Vette. If only he knew!!
69 was the hight of the BBC performance with the 427 not 70. 454 was a smog engine 10.25 compression 390hp, in 74 hp was around 270
42k in todayâs money!!!
Isn't that crazy!
Is it my monitor or is the car actually looks orange? You didn't stop at the stop sign 12:20.
Funny...for so long the C3 was the mullet of corvettes and performance cars in general. Now guys are seeing them for what they are and are rising in price, even the rubber bumpered ones. Now the C4 is kinda the basement corvette. Funny how tastes change. I bought a C3 in 97 and attitudes have really changed since then
It really is interesting to see how things pan out Steve!
Yes.
Nice
Iâm glad that you approve Billy
factory side-pipes...absolutlly!!!
