We were at the Florida game on Sunday, sitting 5 rows up to the right of the Panthers' net. The steal and goal were right in front of us. It was unbelievable... The kid is amazing.
I remember Gretzky's first year. I think we are witnessing another Great One. I hope nothing bad happens to him and that he can realize his full potential.
Man, I saw it before he even got drafted. He is so young looking, but plays like a man! Go Hawks! He has vision on the ice, skills and much more! Love this kid, already!
Been watching him every night here in Chicago. Dude is unbelievable. The opponents see it too. He's pulled some moves to score or assist where defenders are just OMG how. Sick stick and handles and his head is up constantly. He's going to be without question 1 of the best.
He was practicing with pros for a few years before he was even drafted. Wowing pro players. He is who I thought he is. Not sure why others would think he was not as advertised. He has proven himself so many times. Who could doubt the talent.
As a hawks fan I watched so much and read so much about this kid for the last few years and I’ve been around long enough to know who’s going to live up to the hype and who won’t. I knew and could tell he was going to be different but I’m still in disbelief with how good he actually is for how young he is.
Still though practice and in game with that crowd are way different. Many cant handle that pressure. The media has put a load of pressure on this kid and hes just making shit look like business as usual.. we knew he would be good anyone with any hockey experience knew that but its awesome to see him doing so good this soon.

He’s drawing all the attention of the defense, so that opens up holes where he can create chances for others. The only problem is his teammates can’t find the back of the net with those chances.
Except I do, in fact. Watched this kid all through the minors, floating and padding his stats at the expense of his team. He did the same thing in the World Juniors. For every goal he scored he had just as many scored against him while he was floating around on the ice. I'm a lifelong (63 years) Blackhawks' fan. I told my 4 children to enjoy the incredible success during the winning of three Stanley Cups as it's not "normal". I was 1 year old when they won prior to the 21st century (for some reason, I don't remember any of the 1961 Cup). We surrounded the radio during the 1970s when the Hawks blew a lead in the Stanley Cup Finals vs Montreal. But that "rug pull" was just a part of being a Hawks' fan until this century. Now Bedard has a chance to return the Hawks to their recent greatness. In the meantime I'll just enjoy watching Bedard play. He's amazing. 18 years old? That's nuts.
Can you imagine what he will do once he understands how board play differs at this level? It is his one true weakness. But have you heard about how he is always practicing? Seriously...he was made for this game
A lot of people are leaving out on his first goal in Tampa he out positioned Victor Headman. That’s 6 foot 7 inch 240 pound Victor Headman. Size is not going to be an issue for this kid
His skills are simply amazing. I've never seen someone so skilled this early on his rookie season. You know that someone is special when they're doing things that frankly, you haven't seen before rookie season. That stick check, pass fake and tight angled goal in 1 second was ridiculous.

It's hard to compare Bedard... imagine someone who comes into the NBA with more skills than anyone prior rookie season other than Michael Jordan but not as big as the typical hockey player so needs those skills. His passes are extremely under rated. He knows he’s drawing the sole attention of the defenses, so he’s creating a lot of chances for those around him. Only problem is his teammates are washed veterans and can’t capitalize

Great video, however if I may offer some critique to help grow your channel? People care about audio a lot and the major difference from your channel compared to channels like eck and jonny hawkey is the mic quality. If you want to grow even faster, either change up the settings, or invest in a high quality mic. Would like to re-iterate, quality is pretty good either way.

If u dominate that hard in juniors your going to do well in the show. Junior hockey is way more physical. Those guys go hard. And he woulda played with guys the size of many NHL players. And doesnt matter how big u are if u cant catch the kid lmao. As for the devils trade dont hold your breath i dont think the hawks let this kid go anytime soon. Hes got at least 8 years with them i bet . If his stats dont decline they will sign him to a long term deal when ever his current contract is up. And when that ones up if hes still killin it he wont leave. Look at ovi, crosby. And all the other greats in the past. Gretzky got traded and that blew up the hockey world. Now when u have a franchise player u keep him to the end often. Chicago is one of those teams too that will keep a guy for his whole career . Not a Oil fan but always pulled for McCoachkiller but after everything I seen last 5 years and this last deal I think Bedard will lift the cup before McDavid.
With his highlights before coming into the league it was obvious he could do it all, but mostly had an insane shot. Like Patty Kane and Matthews mixed. Not surprised.
Hot and cold streaks are gonna happen, he could put up 6 points in a couple games or go a couple with just an assist or two. Depends on how other teams adapt to shut him down and how he counters. My only concern is can the hawks org make moves to develop and back him.
He is going to be more complete than mcdavid, close to Crosby. Time will tell. Before his 22 sid had 14 4 points game. Nobody has more than 6 with all players at this moment in the league. Mcdavid has 6, sid 14 games. That’s crazy how some don’t remember prime Crosby. Without his major injuries he would have his first 7 seasons above 100 points. He would have another 150-225 points more to his record. They better find someone to protect him at all cost, he is still small. Before the draft I said he was a cross between Patrick Kane brains with matthews shot. You better take care of him chicago
Speak for yourself. He's been exalted for years. He was the best player on Team Canada's gold medal U18 team when he was a 15 yr old. The only surprise would be that he's not averaging MORE than a point a game.
Best part of this kid is that he is personable and can talk to the media. Long time since we've seen an NHL superstar able to do that. (McD, McK, Mathews, etc. just can't)

Bedard reminds me of Stan Mikita . Smooth skater , great hands , eyesight and knows how to pace himself . He's a better shot than Mikita but imagine if Stan played today what his point total would be.

Also, and I'm too lazy to look this up... Plus, it feels like cheating... also, kindly correct me if I'm wrong... But didn't Mikita play junior in St Kitt's ? If so, that was an undersized ice surface... even by Junior Standards...
I was there when the Hurricanes (WHL) shut him out last year (feb 3 '23 i think) -- one of the few games he didn't score a point (G or A)... kinda disappointing, but also super rare!
Ok, everything true except for the winning the Hart next year due to a player vacuum. The idea that McDavid and Leon would not get it figured out in the offseason (assuming they don't figure it out middle of this season) and that MacKinnon or Matthews don't pick up the slack if McDavid is still slow next season is a but too unbelievable to assume to be a likely scenario. Of course its in the realm of possibility, anything can happen, but the amount of things that need to go right for Bedard and wrong for at least four other players is too much to expect it.
i guess we got crosby and ovi all over again with the connors, gonna be tough to have a career like crosby's i would consider crosby the best all around player ever, mcdavid is the best offensive player with the great one and ovi the best goal scorer
I think Connor Bedard isn't living up to all the hype he's getting right now. Rookies normally come firing out on all cylinders in their first year, just like Gretzky, Lemieux, Selanne, etc. By now, the Hawks should at least be in the 2nd wildcard spot because of him. But right now, he's just not producing. They're dead last in their division because of his lack of productivity AND also because of coach Luke Richardson. I'm afraid he's not coaching at the level he should be. As a big Hawks fan, these are the 2 major areas that need massive improvement.
This kids going to score 80 plus if he gets to play with 2 top tier forwards, every time the pucks on his stick he's dangerous, no other player is more dangerous than bedard in regards to shooting accuracy.

It was making me sick there are many valuable players in the league, I won't deny it he does have some talent but is a far cry from a Crosby or McDavid just to name a few. It is a long season and a 20-year career if you can stay healthy. Individual points are great, but a coach once told me it is a team sport and what matters is winning the championship and your name on the trophy. As long as you are productive every shift which means not being scored against on your shift is just as good as scoring a goal. If someone had 150 points but their team didn't make the playoffs some thought should be done to correct this. Good luck Conor becareful there are some big bad boys out there, ask Lindros.
Hes keeping his points the same as when he was in the lower leagues. Hes averaging a point a game his average was about that before. Thats enough said when u can come to the nhl and his average doesnt decline. Thats rare

he’s definitely being advertised alright, they capitalized on the mistake they made with McDavid and hyped him up as much as possible

If u dominate that hard in juniors your going to do well in the show. Junior hockey is way more physical. Those guys go hard. And he woulda played with guys the size of many NHL players. And doesnt matter how big u are if u cant catch the kid lmao. As for the devils trade dont hold your breath i dont think the hawks let this kid go anytime soon. Hes got at least 8 years with them i bet . If his stats dont decline they will sign him to a long term deal when ever his current contract is up. And when that ones up if hes still killin it he wont leave. Look at ovi, crosby. And all the other greats in the past. Gretzky got traded and that blew up the hockey world. Now when u have a franchise player u keep him to the end often. Chicago is one of those teams too that will keep a guy for his whole career . As a leaf fan i cant be mad he looks good in a hawks jersey.

Now don't get me wrong... I'm not saying Bedard's going to be as dominant as Orr was... leading the NHL scoring twice for a Dman will NEVER, EVER happen again...But less we forget... You're taking about the outlier of outliers... Not a Oil fan but always pulled for McCoachkiller but after everything I seen last 5 years and this last deal I think Bedard will lift the cup before McDavid.
With his highlights before coming into the league it was obvious he could do it all, but mostly had an insane shot. Like Patty Kane and Matthews mixed. Not surprised.
I don’t think he’ll be better or at same level as Mackinnon, Matthews, Mcdavid, Leon until he’s at least 5 years older.
Playing with men of NHL caliber has made it easier for him. Playing with teenagers way below his skill level could have been frustrating.
Hot and cold streaks are gonna happen, he could put up 6 points in a couple games or go a couple with just an assist or two. Depends on how other teams adapt to shut him down and how he counters. My only concern is can the hawks org make moves to develop and back him.

He is going to be more complete than mcdavid, close to Crosby. Time will tell. Before his 22 sid had 14 4 points game. Nobody has more than 6 with all players at this moment in the league. Mcdavid has 6, sid 14 games. That’s crazy how some don’t remember prime Crosby. Without his major injuries he would have his first 7 seasons above 100 points. He would have another 150-225 points more to his record.

Speak for yourself. He's been exalted for years. He was the best player on Team Canada's gold medal U18 team when he was a 15 yr old. The only surprise would be that he's not averaging MORE than a point a game.
Best part of this kid is that he is personable and can talk to the media. Long time since we've seen an NHL superstar able to do that. (McD, McK, Mathews, etc. just can't)

Bedard reminds me of Stan Mikita . Smooth skater , great hands , eyesight and knows how to pace himself . He's a better shot than Mikita but imagine if Stan played today what his point total would be.
Yes, I'm an old guy too... Mikita played for Black Hawks with Bobby Hull... And didn't Mikita stumble upon a, slightly damaged stick with a curved blade... And take some shots with it... And then say to Bobby, 'Hey check this out!'... Or words to that effect? And that's when the hockey world discovered the value of the curved blade? Maybe I'm wrong... But that's how I heard it...

The idea that McDavid and Leon would not get it figured out in the offseason (assuming they don't figure it out middle of this season) and that MacKinnon or Matthews don't pick up the slack if McDavid is still slow next season is a but too unbelievable to assume to be a likely scenario.
Of course its in the realm of possibility, anything can happen, but the amount of things that need to go right for Bedard and wrong for at least four other players is too much to expect it.

I think Connor Bedard isn't living up to all the hype he's getting right now. Rookies normally come firing out on all cylinders in their first year, just like Gretzky, Lemieux, Selanne, etc. By now, the Hawks should at least be in the 2nd wildcard spot because of him. But right now, he's just not producing. They're dead last in their division because of his lack of productivity AND also because of coach Luke Richardson. I'm afraid he's not coaching at the level he should be. As a big Hawks fan, these are the 2 major areas that need massive improvement.

It was making me sick there are many valuable players in the league, I won't deny it he does have some talent but is a far cry from a Crosby or McDavid just to name a few. It is a long season and a 20-year career if you can stay healthy. Individual points are great, but a coach once told me it is a team sport and what matters is winning the championship and your name on the trophy. As long as you are productive every shift which means not being scored against on your shift is just as good as scoring a goal. If someone had 150 points but their team didn't make the playoffs some thought should be done to correct this. Good luck Conor becareful there are some big bad boys out there, ask Lindros.

I read st Louis legs were fuckin massive with muscle. Ive played with many small guys that could take the body better then the big guys. Fuckin lay people out flat amazing hits. And no homo but they went in the dressing room to bedard the other day and he had his shirt off the kids got more muscle on him then i would have thought . Hes in great shape. Young and full of energy hes ganna kill it. And even if he isnt the next great he will still be fun to watch and great on any team hes on but hes got potential to be something special for sure. If he can avoid injuries and stay healthy for a long career like ovi and Crosby have had he will be up there with them in points im sure
