3. Ratfolk
4. Fetchlings
5. Changelings
6. Goblins
7. Drow

Loved my Ratfolk Alchemist (pulled even his character out of Skavenslayer down to speech) because he essentially 'experimented' on the group with his extracts and mutagens from an archetype and constantly asked them long lists of questions if they started feeling everything ranging from dizziness to the craving for the flesh of man-things.
A good choice of campaign for having a Dhampir could be someone involved with the conflict of Vecna & Kas or someone from Ustalav trying to survive the curse of Strahd.
Barovia from CoS is like a bad monday from someone from Ustalav, especially in the second edition
Goblins are hilarious, their childlike speech and actions put a lot of PCs off guard before jumping them. Had a party fight a group of goblin alchemist-rogues chant "Burney Burney cut cut!" The party fighter nearly died because he was laughing so hard in game at the war chant that they got a few sneak attack fire bombs off on him.
Goblins are like the mean ugly versions of the kinders.
To overcome your negative energy affinity your dhampir could easily become an alchemist or death cleric
My favourite build at the moment is Tiefling Alchemist. It gives you dark sinister appearances in Alchemist Discoveries on top of the race traits that a Tiefling would get. Ask the DM if you could roll on the two percentile charts for more flavour and mechanics. Though my DM is kind enough to allow a base of four total chosen traits on the percentile charts.
Grimpsawn Tiefling because the negative to charisma is not my thing I prefer negotiating and socializing as a character.
Tiefling race traits
- Fiendish Sprinter gives you non human legs(replace the Skilled trait)
- Maw or Claw is what the name implies(replace the Spell Like Ability trait) I go with claws in conjunction with a Alchemist Discovery.
- Prehensile Tail lets you have a tail without the body percentile trait(replace the Fiendish Sorcery trait)
Alchemist archetype Internal Alchemist it is really great for playing dead and has not just Poison Resist but Disease Resist which I believe is what any proper outsider would have even when you are just a native outsider.
Discoveries I have on my character as of now
- Tentacle(have my tentacle beside my tail to be a Twin Tailed Tiefling)
-Vestigial Arms(have both to craft a formulae and make a bomb in a action provided by my DMs approval)
- Wings because what four armed twin tail scaly monster is complete without wings to fly
I used a feat Extra Discovery to have a Vestigial Arm and then normally gained a Discovery for the second Vestigial Arm
My four percentile traits that I choose were
- No need to sleep. Still susceptable to magic sleep spells and effects(The minds of native outsiders shouldnt need sleep)
- Can survive on one quarter of food and water a normal human requires(Because Tieflings have strange organs)
- DR 2/Cold Iron(To play up the other worldly body)
- Hermaphroditic(because I choose female for non elven characters)
My current characters are Gathlain Vigilante Splintersoul(Social Talent undead guise gives me a Vampire Fairy) and a Human Wizard Instructor(I do not like familiars or bonded items but wanted to try an all arcane only party)
Alucard from the Castlevania series is a good rendition of a good aligned dhampir, if you turn down the edge a bit you got a good ranger/inquisitor
my favorite thing to do with goblins is you buy a balista get a group of goblins now you have a goblin shotgun
My first PC was a Tiefling Barbarian, and I did exactly what you said to do in this video, despite having never seen it until today. The source of his bloodline's taint was a Shachath, whose aesthetic of both holy & unholy in one body went on to inspire his physical traits & first level feat (Monstrous Mask, which I flavored as it manifesting a second face that both spoke to the person in their mind.) The death of his father, who was an alchemist trying to cure the Tiefling affliction, at the hands of an upstart Iomedaean Paladin fueled endless contempt and rage at the entire religion and the god at its center. After a couple decades of dealing with cultists whose goals aligned with his, it dawned upon him that he was acting no better than those who wronged him for judging the entirety of a rather wide spread religion on the actions of a single person. So he decided instead to finish his father's work in a rather unique way: amass enough power to take the fight to the home plane of the demons and devils, to slay them in their home planes. Only then would people be spared off the torment that he & his family line went through if constant loss, prejudice, and vengeance.
Eventually I had even hoped to have him find his father's formulae book and use his father's failures to fuel his efforts, multiclassing barbarian and ragechemist to double up on the strength and constitution bonuses from both rage mechanics
For Dhampir, I would also say that Alucard from castlevania could count as well.
Very true.
Vampire Hunter D
@@clauderains1894 They have a specific dhampir subrace based on Vampire Hunter D. The sacred ancestor subrace.
Underdark?! I think you mean Darklands my good sir.
(If you play in Golarion obviously)
Great video. Keep it up.
He's a very fun goblin idea I used once: Bipolar barbarian.
Normally this guy is a little slightly mischief making goblin but otherwise mild mannered. My particular version was Sweepy, he was a janitor for hire and carried his trusty broom everywhere, had giant ears and a wide brimmed hat that covered his face while at rest.
The trick? Well they're volatile and will have extreme reactions once something clicks. In my case he had two major ones, with his giant ears he'd respond mostly to sound. If he heard someone trying to hide a conversation he'd just be gone, vanished up the walls and went all giggly while he eavesdropped. For no reason, he just liked to know he was, he didn't even memorize any of it.
If he heard someone trying to sneak it was total opposite, there was no warning at all for what he'd do. Ears flip up and nearly double his height, hat flies off and he goes to beat the ever loving shit out of everything in that direction. This lead to many destroyed windchimes and at least 43 dead animals who were just around. This is also why his hat was big, he'd skin whatever he found if anything and add it to the hat.
The party actually went to some extreme lengths to avoid him because there was no private chats around him and if they didn't make themselves apparent he'd give them at least one good whack. Lucky he had like 14 str even in rage so he wasn't too deadly with his broom. Did kill an assassin once though, he didn't expect the janitor to both hear him and score a rage fueled crit with a broom.
a Trox wuold probably fit the bill better
My ratfolk Skizzit would be very alarmed to see his people on this list. He's a cute little mouse boy wizard who makes pits to swallow his enemies.
I played a male drow druid exile once. He was on a journey to scatter his human mentor's ashes somewhere beautiful as per their dying wish. But he lacked a sense of aesthetics, so he always had to ask if a place seemed pretty.
The biggest reason I'm a fan of Drow is b/c of the lore. Also Eilistraee is my favorite Forgotten Realms goddess. I'd go with hobgoblins over the lesser goblins. Vampire Hunter D is a good dhampir inspiration.
I Love Goblins! Im trying to convince my wife to play one as a dex barbarian next to my Invulnerable Rager. Though I did get her to play currently a Tiefling Gunslinging Eldritch archer.
I have a changeling barbarian that I'm playing now. She's a tad bit crazy. Thinking of multiclassing into sorcerer accursed bloodline.
Just started a changeling shaman yesterday and then found this today! Fun so far
i helped a friend make her first char a fetchling rogue. at lvl 2 she got the rogue talant that lets you create simple tings from shadows. probebly one of my favorite chars themsticly that i’ve helped build
Tieflings might be sometimes be evil, but are no more drawn to violence/evil than half-orcs, and same with Dhampir's... Ratfolk are more commonly neutral or good, Fetchlings are just human descendants that are slaves in the shadow plane, Changelings aren't often bad... I can agree with Drow and goblins, but for top 7 sinister races!? I only agree with Drow! Most of this list seems pretty bad! I'd say top 7 (in no particular order) Duergar, Drow, Hobgoblin, Deep One Hybrid, Kuru, Serpentfolk, and Urdefhan... and as for why:
Drow are a demon-worshipping, slavery-driven race that seek to enslave/kill anyone who isn't Drow.
Duergar are another race predominantly evil that believe in slavery/ torture/ murder of all other races (with emphasis of killing dwarfs).
Hobgoblins are in about the same boat as goblins, but while goblins are evil for fun, hobgoblins CHOOSE to be evil, and are methodical in their actions.
Kuru are an evil race of cannibal berserkers.
Deep one Hybrids serve the great old ones and seek to bring existence itself to an end in service of their evil masters.
Serpentfolk seek the destruction of all the other races so that they might regain control of the world, and make humans' slave's/ sacrifices again.
Urdefhan serve the horsemen of the Apocalypse and were literally created to kill all life.
(honorable mentions are Strix for their anti-human rhetoric, Daro for their insanity and kidnapping/torture-experiments on all other races, and Syrinx are also pretty violent and slavery-driven)
Drow rhymes with toe - Gygax
Me, holding up my DND Goblin Wild Magic Sorcerer
Ratfolk also make astounding gunslingers, with their own racial archetype that adds tons on both utility and flavor.
I almost went with a tiefling for my evil sorceress, but ifrit does more fire
I just thought of something what would tieflings descended from kytons or qlippoth be like?
I always want to do Beavis & Butthead as goblins.
13:00 The dudes in dark City were all animated corpses being piloted by aliens.
The first Pathfinder game I played featured a Fetchling Summoner using the Shadow Caller Racial Archetype. paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advancedRaceGuide/featuredRaces/fetchlings.html#shadow-caller-(summoner)
This character was absolutely incredible as she went double duty in melee combat with her Shadow Puma Eidolon and buff caster to Haste, Enlarge, and overall support the party. She was the glue that held us together and taught the staunch Paladin that Darkness was not equivalent to Evil.
a goblin vivsectionist/knife master has a damage output that is just hillarious. and thanks to around 17 lvls vivisectionist can hold their own in the frontline if you use defensive formula.
I had an idea for a Nosferatu Dhampir, who ends up becoming an Inquisitor of Rovagug, after his wasting sickness drives him to nihilistic misanthropy. ;)
I do need to make a Changling Witch....

Don't have any of your mother's cookies if she has the cook children hex.
Or do if you're that kinda witch...
* *Evil Cackle* *

I had a fetchling ranger as a companion in my first ever pathfinder game
I always wondered about were-rats vs Rat folk. Would the Were-rats muscle the rat folk out of an under belly of a city and take over or would they work together and conquer the city from the belly up.
How would one play Squee, Goblin Nebob from MtG in D&D or Pathfinder?
Changling=Wifu tier
With the mention of the witch/shaman relation, it honestly feels like the shaman class is what the witch class should've been
I think of the witch as one of Pathfinder's biggest problem classes. They keep trying to tweak it or make classes that do the same thing, but better.
I think the main issue I had with drow is my hatred of the 2 EL from 3.5. It was so terrible if you started at lvl 1.
Yeah, fetchlings are well suited for dark and edgy characters, such as a paladin of the Sun goddess. Oh, wait...
Can i get a link for the image at 1:29 pls
If someone wanted to make a vampire game please watch 30 days of night. That's an amazing idea for vampires. Instead of the noble enemy you'll fight wolf pack like vamps
Space Vampers
You mentioned shaman a lot this video, can you make a breakdown video?
Shaman is a cool class. I will probably do a breakdown at some point.
I am going to make a goblin from styx master of shadows and two. I was going to give him Rogue but I don't know what subclass going to choose for him maybe Arcane trickster or Alchemist
Master of Shadows was a great game. Really hilarious.
have you seen the new races for the game yet I am so happy that minotaurs and centaurs during the game now but most importantly is the hippo hippo hippo hippo and there is my character build for the Goblin
Malus Darkblade anyone?
Why Teen Titans? Does Trigon tickle your fancy?
He is quite a demon
You know what gets dm's confused? My neutral good ratfolk fighter
reloaded the page 4 notification... you have a Ghoran and a Rougarou in the background of the title page... those are playable races, why aren't they in the list?
you did not understand what i meant but thanks anyways
i play a gob alchemist and hes just op and rly funny to play!
I bet. XD
I’m going to play a seducer witch and wanted a perfect race for him. Needs to be “hot” and smooth but still evil 😈 lol great list!
Raven counts as a tiefling?
She could have the pass for human trait, but really half fiend is more like it.
@@d6damage93 no because her father TRIGON is a cambion that ascended to demonlord status so she is only 1/4 fiend herself.
.
do clockworks!?
Only good Ratfolk is Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
What about Fievel from American Tale?
@@d6damage93 Huh, I had Google that
starts video: "there will be Dhampir, Strix, Astomoi, Vishkanya, Trox and probably Rougarou, Wyrwood or Kasatha. But if Deep One Hybrid are not here i'm gonna be mad"
end of video: "well, i am VERY disappointed, there are 40+ canon races in Pathfinder and this is just vanilla stuff... YOU HAVE A RACE THAT IS LITERALLY INSPIRED BY LOVECRAFT GODDAMIT"
Those are some very interesting races that you mentioned. This list was pretty hard to narrow down and maybe I erred a little to much on the side of "classic". Thanks for talking about some awesome additional race options that I didn't cover.
the good things about these races is that they provide very peculiar points of view... there are a LOT of roleplay opportunity and they can very easily go in a creepy direction... Just a few examples:
Wyrwood: you were created to serve people you ended up murdering
Vishkanya: you might accidentally poison your friends just by touching them
Astomoi: you cannot see anything that is more than 60ft away from you, while consuming the nutrients/life force (depends on how you want to roleplay it as) from things around you
Deep One Hybrid: you'll become immortal at the price of your sanity
@@Sethoshini95 yes, yes, and yes. But how does that make them "sinister" none of the races have a reputation (deserved or not) of being deliberate villains.
Drow: society based on hate, betrayal, selfishness and status.
Changeling: mother is some form of hag.
Dhampir: one parent was a vampire.
Ratfolk: believed to be using alchemy to brew up new diseases to infect people.
Goblins: destructive and unpredictable firebugs.
Fetchlings: associated with plane of shadow, which in Pathfinder is believed to be a realm ruled by strange undead gods.
Tieflings: descended from fiends of the lower planes.
You sound like brickyorchid8
Dumb ass intro though. I almost clicked off.
m8, i usually applaud your research, but this time i must say you kinda failed
