When the demo crew is paid by the hour not the job!
So how it looks when they are paid by the job? They would swing the ball 3-times faster?
@@DalHruskblow it up
@@DalHruskThey would use explosives and level it, or other means.
@@Themyththelegend545 Preparing a demolition with explosives takes many hours of highly qualified workers and a lot of drilling inside. It does not work like: "Just put some explosives in there and push that button!"
It is funny when people who know nothing about the job criticize work of others.
well if you hire me I just throw the tnt or whatever inside and blow it up, it's that simple.@@DalHrusk
Im surprised the crane doesn't fall apart before the building is knocked down this must put a lot of stress on the framework of the crane .
Frame is flexible not completely rigid
I Didn't Surprise But Honestly im Shock when i know who's the other operator hehehe
@adventsociety5382 It does have huge boom deflection but the slew ring must get nailed, especially as they are reving to speed up the swing. Crawler cranes are tough tho. J
7:38 Here you can see it, steel is very flexible.
And how the rope isn't getting bird nested
"They say he's still out there swinging to this day"😅
insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result
The more I use heavy machinery the more I see how crazy-dangerous this method is for demolishing a building.
You have more control using this method rather than imploding the building.
ah okay fine
This is germany. If this method would be overly dangerous compared other methods, the guys from the berufsgenossenschaft (those who pay compensation for job indicated accidents) would close it down immediately ;D
It's actually the safest compared to anything else but just so slow
They probably didn't have the space to use dynamite and knock it down.
This building was built tough.
They need a ball 5 times that size
Then they would need a crane 5x stronger which they don’t have
@@Damidas They need a crane 5x stronger
But then he would weigh over 10 kg! 😅
@@andry4313 That would probably cost 5 times more. I'm sure there is a logical reason for doing it the way they're doing it.
The wrecking ball is much smaller than expected
Maybe it was cold out.
Paid by the hour.
Because to certain situations they need diffrent size and for example if they would grab a bigger one building would fall apart not piece by piece but propably whole in one moment and this would be dangerous for rest of the crew
@@user-bi5yr4sb5swhat this have to the topic? Typical karen argument
Had no idea these contraptions were still being used in demolition…crazy!
Oh the patience required for this! and to watch to but its so mesmerizing somehow.
A Hitachi crane in Germany? Blasphemy!
Japs get everywhere, break international laws, ignore the WTO rules that they signed up for, and ignore all closed market rules except the ones that keep their markets closed.
@@Demun1649 Wow drama queen. I'm sure it's perfectly legal to own a Hitachi in Germany. Just funny to see a crane there that isn't a Liebherr. Calm down.
@@robertpalmer3166 it doesn't make sense though because of the non-EU import tariffs
It's a Dutch company.... You must be American.
These European buildings make the American ones look like they’re made with paper mache.
And chinese ones made with air.
I’ve just watched one in America. It came down like a house of cards. 😂
Not only the demolition process is painfully slow, you must also salvage the wrecking ball sometimes too. 😆
I’m surprised the basket was big enough for that guys balls.
One this is for sure whoever built that building didn't skimp on the rebar
Where's Miley Cyrus?
😅
Her singing could bring it down....
@joeylawn36111 I actually like her singing she's not bad compared to taylor swift 😊
Think you'll find Brian Johnson from AC/DC was swingin' on a wreckin' ball long before Miley C...🤘
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
if this was hours long, i'd watch whole building come down
But there are hours on other YT channels. For me, It is also good white noise when falling aslep 🙂
This seems like a job where no matter how long you've been at it, it looks like you don't know what you are doing.
It also looks like a job where no matter how new you are at it, it looks like you do know what you are doing!
I always thought it would be more satisfying to watch... But it takes forever to actually make stuff fall :D
Controlled demolition with explosives would have had that down in seconds
Yes, but it also takes some month to prepare for the shot. And if there are fragile structures in the underground, sensible buildings nearby, it is impossible to use explosives.
Probably, but one always has to ask at what cost. The wrecking ball is slower but its probably substantially cheaper to pay one operator several days salary, than an explosives team their fee!
Explosives just aren't feasible sometimes.
What if the chain of the demolition ball gets entangled with some of those exposed metal roda
@@adityaschavalithey lost the ball at about 7:20
"Hey, not that building! The other one over there!"
"Oopsie"
Weiter so ❤
Anyone else think they could use a bigger wrecking ball?
Kinetic pleasure, I wish this method was still ubiquitous. Those were the days!
Time consuming, but we know that the wrecking ball will win in the end
Nice catch on the wrecking ball recovery! I’m pretty sure that would be frowned upon here.
not OSHA approved, Super Sketchy.... IMO
I'm amazed they got away with it in Germany.@@boossersgarage3239
They don't have spare balls? hook another one up and use it to free the first one, it's solid steel, not like you're gonna damage it..
Nice counter weight 😊😊
At this rate it will take longer to tear it down than it took to build it.
Excellent crane work fellas!!
Real estate agent would call this place a "renovator's dream"
Great footage, I could watch this all day ! 😁
"this 3 pound ball should be enough" in one picture
Classic demolition
Technology of XIX century!
He’s not swinging out far enough before he starts back!
Fun stuff, shows the importance of rebar...
Hallo HDisten.
@@kotnapromke I can't read these letters.
Crane is already too small for that ball as look at the extra slab of counterweight they hung on it...unbelievable that they can get away with that in Germany!
Given how they recover the ball at 8.30 with that guy swinging around in that basket it doesn't look like health and safety is a high priority there.
They hooked the ball to rigging holding the basket FFS
@@kevinpennings8823 Yup, unbelievable. I'll bet these workers arn't german, probably from eastern europe where safety is an afterthought.
Ball: "I came here to torn you in to pieces"
Building: "Just watch me standing"
I love watching this.
Lol I legit thought they stopped using wrecking balls like 40 years ago
In Hollywood movies, these wrecking ball smashes through few buildings in 1 swing
I used to love the odd commercials with wrecking balls in them. I guess they demolished those commercials. 😂
Three years later! 😎
This has to be fun!
Very cool
It pounds away like my hangover.
Need a bigger one than that
This is why i always pick freight train on madden 😂
Looks like a dream job to me
if the wrecking ball has not died, then it is still trying today
Man that building is really a superstructure
Imagine living next to that
Gotta say it's not the wrecking ball that I expect.
It's like watching paint dry. Blow it up
Need a bigger ball!
So we're just going to ignore the fact that this driver is far too close to be safe as proven at right around 5:46 ?
Huge chunk of metal nearly hit the cab!
By the way, I'm not saying this person doesn't know what they are doing. I imagine they would be further away if that were an option. But that just makes me impressed by the balls on this guy. His wrecking balls! :D
😂
It's job for men
Hmmm 🤔 Yeah
A job for stupid men, yeah.@@Pingu65716
optical illusion
bro this must take forever.
This take forever
When there's no hurry, and they want to keep costs down, this is the cheapest method.
Now this wrecking ball I can wrap my head around
Hey Arnold brought me here
Is this demolition still going on (7-Dec-23)...
Maestro
4 years later and he’s still there wreaking nothing.
20,000 years later...
Very Specialty of IDF Air Force.
Sure seems like a good candidate for implosion.
How can the hulk swing one of these if it weighs more than him?
Stunt actors
Are they still working??
With this speed it will be completely demolished by January 2123 lmao
Wrecking ball is wayyy too small 😂
What is this, 1920?
He fucked up the dumpster 😂 (6:53)
Only took them 3 and a half months to get it down. World record.
Looks like the old folks tower in New Albany in
I feel like these Wrecking Balls are useless, it's taking way too long to do any damage !!
Effizienz liegt bei 0 😂
Definitely needs a bigger ball maybe six or seven times the size would better but the driver could loose his overtime. 😃
Miley Cyrus would be ashamed of that ball
Putin spasibo pomog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spasibo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Salam dari tambang pasir lereng gunung semeru
This seems like the most clumsy, inefficient way to demo a building.
Waow😮😮😮
Can anyone tell me how long it would take to bring it down?
32 years..
11:06
7 million swings later..
Where is Miley? I want her here singing this bang in the true wrecking ball
the ball should been 3 times bigger to make proper damage 😂
Woodpeckers would have brought that down faster.
❤❤👍👍👍
snail speed demo lol
hey look, it's me vs my life 🥴
The Pecking ball. Not the wrecking ball.
