My Dad had one of those in the early sixties, but it had engine trouble
It had a huge winch mounted on the rear for cable operated equipment : scrapers or ploughs
Exact same blade equipment as this one…Nice to hear the engine running on this one‼️
    Thank you…🔥👊

In 1970, Clinton Howard Mace Sr. threw caution to the wind. Buying 3 salvage IH TD18s and making one that he used to carve Cypress Valley Golf Course out of the Piney woods of East Texas. IH and C.H. Mace, a combination that prevailed. A Great Machine and a GREATER Man. R.I.P., CH Mace, my dad.

Fun. Had to manually tilt the blade but fun. The startup switching over from gas to diesel with a lever had a satisfying "baroom" sound too.

Beautiful machines . Luv the sound. My dad used to own a couple of these back in the mid 70s but without the hydraulic attachment. It re kindled some beautiful childhood memories listening to the sound and seeing it work like that. Must be difficult to keep them in working condition.

I know a logger that had a HD-19 AC and it was powered by an 8-71 jimmy diesel. That was one powerful machine.

    Two points to make:
    1. Even though that tractor is really old, its sounds like its running good! So does the smaller one(Same year?)
    2. Wherever you are in the USA, you guys have some FANTASTIC looking soil there! Its nice and dark, and doesnt seem to be all clayey... All we have around here, wherever you go, is orange-brown clay! There is no soil that looks like that unless its combo-soil that was spread there earlier and allowed to sit and age. Is that whats going on there?

Have been researching these crawlers and their history, and its great to see one in action. It sounds amazing. Envy you getting to drive one. I've read they are great to operate. Any interest in posting the gas-to-diesel start-up procedure? Best!

Back in those days, the grade of steel was FORMED by mixing and melting metals. They had good grade steel. Those dozers will run forever so long as you maintain them. Today's dozers are made of recycled steel, the steel isn't made from iron ore and such. Lower quality metals are made now, the quality of the old steel was much better.

jon Will yes l agree totally! But the biggest problem of all is that electronic! A lot of funktionsfähig you never need and a lot of unnecessary technic! The case of many troubles and you cannot help yourself any more . You always need a mechanic with laptop and special software. Sometimes even they have problems to get it.
