SEGUN IS MY MAN ANY TIME ANY DAY. HE IS VERY WELL GROUNDED. HE IS A GREAT ERUDITE.
The position of the FCT Minister is Federal appointment which the president recommends someone into at his own discretion. Also the Nigerians that are employed within the civil service is not done on party affiliation. Therefore for the guest to say that Wike working for the current administration as a member of the PDP is not done anywhere is not correct. He can say he has not seen that done anywhere or is not aware. William Cohen in the United States who is a republican served as the Secretary of Defense under the democratic administration under Bill Clinton without any issues from his party or the party he served under. What politicians in Nigeria do not understand is that the electorate wants the country to be run and govern properly regardless of which party the president comes from. Wike has said it openly that he did not accept the job because of APC but for the interest of serving the country and he was grateful that Tinubu gave in that opportunity. Recently some disgruntled APC members accused him of not honoring their party invitation to meet with them and the minister made it openly clear that he is not a member of the APC. Regardless of what is going on ion the PDP how much more loyal can a party member be. When Wike got an award from President Buhari as his achievement in the areas of project development and successful completion the PDP as a party did not ask him to return the award. If Tinubu found him to be the candidate to be the FCT Minister based on his records of performance, what is wrong with that? The problem with political leaders and parties in Nigeria is that they do not believe on continuity and hence projects are abandoned every where in the country. The problems that Nigeria is faced with today are decades old because parties come do what they have do and once they are no longer in office they position themselves as enemies try to out do each other with criticisms and and complaints mounted on the ruling party as if the voters no longer matter. Every elected person in the country should play their part and answerable to the electorate and make good the promises made to the people. Wike is doing the job the president offered to do and I think the president has made history by appointing and opposition party member as one of his ministers He promised to put together a team with experience and record of performance. The PDP should be careful of how they address Wike's appointment for the FCT Minister because they will be frown at by those who think he is doing a good job. They must have an open mind and put politics aside. The Minister is working for the Nigerian people and not APC.
