Dont apologise for being French! I have absolutely throughly enjoyed watching the house transform. Your knowledge and skills are exemplary ! The same can not be said of my French language skills. But I still love listening to see how many words I can understand. ITS ALL GOOD. 👏🥳💖
👍🤘
This is the first time Iw seen a renovation so far from what I would have chosen to do, but I must admit I enjoyed watching how it turned out, great job.

Bonjour Monsieur
I love the fact that he actually improved at doing all the wires, because at the beginning there was a lot to improve, but at the end he had clever ideas at hiding the cables between the wooden walls.
You are a special man, not because of the knowledge or dexterity to use all the tools and materials and how hard you worked in this project, but what makes you special is your vision.
Cheers
Soit prudent !

The amount of work compressed in this short video is crazy!!! I really enjoyed it - very nice choice of music, timelaps itself and pretty much everything 🥰 the view is fantastic. It was nice to see it from time to time and enjoy clouds / fog passing by. Thank you for sharing and going through extra work on editing all that. That was fun!!!

The process is amazing. A very talented man. I wish that I could smell all of the beautiful wood. 👍
>two years renovation

>It's just three guys doing everything by hand
"Never mind that's impressive as all hell"
Not 2 years 12 months
@@Kalle56 4 bedroom and w bathroom remaining
Everything by hand? No way! In the barn next door they had a full equipment of professional machines a carpenter needs to do his work professionally.
@G Music I don't know about you. To me a surface planer and a circular saw count as heavy machinery. They have them both, and they have many many more. And sure, parts assembly afterwards is more work by hand than parts manufacturing before. You need to look also at the work done in the workshop, not only in the house itself.
@G Music Well, you could basically cut a 3 meter long plank with a hand-held circular saw or even with a jigsaw. However, both ways would turn out to be a lot more exhausting compared to the gear they luckily can use. It's not the mere length of the board in the first place, by the way, that makes it harder or easier to cut it, but its bulkiness (and the type of wood). That's the point when professional gear really starts to pay off 😁.
I 😅✔️😂
Bravo.

The materials they use to build houses outside the US are so durable compared to the shit we use in the states. Smh. I hate it here.
But renovation in US cost less than france ^^
@@dylanplanche5873 It’s the big difference between these two countries and that’s why it’s expensive to renovate or make a house in France
You can build exactly the same way in the U.S. what's stopping you? You think every build is like this in France, around Europe?
I will give you that I'd be less worried buying a house in France than in the U.S. Brick is far less likely to have structural problems. But if every room is level and the bones are good it's pretty much the same no?
Btw.. The profile picture♡
@@its_wendy440 thanks queen you know what it is 😌
Very interesting seeing European design come together. Most of those ideas wouldn't work in North America due to cost. Things that I have to have like insulation in the ceiling with vapour barrier is a must due to cold winters. Can't wait to see the final finished home.
Oh good, I wasn’t the only one wondering about insulation. Is that just not a thing in other places? The house looks pretty, but I hate a drafty house.
@@ProfessorJackal using the cinder block construction allows air inside the home to be cooler in those areas where the summer heat is a issue. The roof isn't insulated to allow the way air to rise. Works great in those really warm places, but no where I live. Cinder block construction allows too much heat to escape during the really cold season.
In America you need an half of a day, paper, glue and tacking needles.
Are u from America
@@gamothelegend7712 No, i'm german - we built HOUSES out of stone, we don't built shacks like most of the americans. I see it everyday on TV how most of the americans built their houses.
It's nothing else as square timber, drywall, nails and spatula.
A little bit more wind and your "house" is gone.
@@myopinion3431 Refined modern design that is more efficiently built and suited to it's environment. Some places in America have light materials because they don't need to endure harsh winds or bad weather due to the region, while on the East Coast you'll see plenty of sturdy built houses, especially North East USA
Also the US is covered in woods, thus making stone houses very expensive compared to wood and drywall houses. It only makes sense, no need to be an elitist about housing when most of us in the USA will struggle to own a house in their lifetime, much less opt for a house built from sturdy materials.
Just something to think about, maybe try to look at things differently when you don't understand the reasoning.
@@HyphaeHighway Sure, but i saw a lot of times that people who live in strange tornado areas built these kind of woodhouses.
I don't get this.
It's cheaper ok, but when i know that theres the risk to have a strong tornado 1 time per year, why i built my house that light?
@@myopinion3431 what the hell are you talking about?

Wow it’s beautiful! The wood work , windows just wow! We are renovating our home now and trust me when I say I wish y’all were around to help! My house is old too 1914. It’s a cottage type house so but great job 👏
What about insulation? Maybe I am missing something, it just seems like there was wood put on top of wood in the ceiling and nothing placed in all those nice gaps that would have insulated the house.
I just thought the same
No no they put some " laine de bois " under the top of the house
I don't know, but I think this doesn't really need insulation because it's a **summer** house, and the weather in France is quite similar to ours in Alexandria, Egypt. Pretty damn humid and hot in the summer.
@@ahmadhelmy_ insulation also helps keep heat out, therefore keeping the house cool
@@graceellen101 Oh, I forgot about that. Well at this point I'm asking the same question.

I’m not sure which was more work... the renovation or creating the video. Amazing job on both!
I want to as confident in life as him putting his tiles in first before all the smashing and paint work.
He fucked up with that. You aren't supposed to put concrete over a floating floor. It's going to cause the whole thing to crack out as soon as the temperature changes in the summer. He should have ripped out the hardwood and put hardibacker down like he was supposed to
@@Jacobe2of4 yeah I was so confused by the concrete on an upper level...

Title: Two years of renovation
11:56: "It's been 12 months"
Math: "What now????"
He started 2 years ago and this is the second timelipse showing the second year of work.

Preety good, considering you're glueing furniture to the walls and together in a way that's impossible to dissaseble it nondestructively
Agreed. When they want to change anything, they’ll have to rip out so much other stuff. Do they not have nails, screws and bolts? Only adhesive?

this has been in my recommended for ages now but I've finally given in
I’m confused... with all the amazing work you did on this house, why did you choose not to put any insulation, specifically in the ceiling under the roof?
Exactly same thoughts. When they were doing ceiling I was like waita minute... where is the insulation?
It looks like they are in a cool enough climate also
you should go watch ep. 9, he's showing the insulation of his roof. He's living in the mountains so a good insulation is necessary
I noticed it as well and started to wonder. I'm sure they isolated it and he probably has an episode about it, although I haven't checked.
Out of the blue, I'd bet the grey hose that you see running up to the ceiling sputters some kind of isolation material.
If I remember well, he did a video where he was on the roof and he used specific material with a high power of insulation to cover the roof, so no need to insulate below the roof as it's done usually...I'm pretty sure it's well insulated as he lives in the Alpes
This is very impressive. Though I don't understand why you would cover up a nice hardwood floor with cement and vaneer.
I thought so too
Maybe improve the isolation (it's just a guess), it appears the house is in a mount / mountain, so your house has to be cold proof lol.
C’est juste... DU BON BOULOT!!!! WELL DONE-NICE JOB!!!!!!!!!
