- Huang Xing Xian (Sheng Shyan) Yang Short Form. 37 posture Yang Taiji form developed by Chen Manching. Chen Manching was a student of Yang Chenfu. This is a rare video of Master Huang performing the style of Tai Chi Chuan that we practice in our system. I am fourth generation down from Chen Man-Ch'ing.
To learn for FREE online: Tai Chi and Qigong (HHung Sheng Shyan style):

I had to turn the sound off .. distracting. I learned the yang 37 form in Singapore from students of Sia Mok Tie. When I went to William Chen's class in NYC in 1992 he did the form at the end of the tui shou session & I was right beside him. Not a lot of space so we did a very compact version. William's 37 form was exactly as I'd learned it. After class we went to a tiny Chinese restaurant nearby & had a meal. Great memory.
Great story, awesome
That was amazing!! I been practicing this form for a few months. This expression and its rhythm and grace .. well there are no words to describe it ..
I am a Huang taichi practitioner for 13 yrs. I had alter the movement to be wider broader space between arms movements. I follow the universe orbit philosophy where all planets are separated with broad space though in a same solar system and all planets of the solar system are active and move perfectly within the gravity of the sun in the center. As such I practise movements that no contact between arms but broad and round like the solar in the universe! And it increased qi gradually to the new heights. I respect Master Huang , without him I wouldn't be practising taichi with such philosophy! I would not comment on Master Huang. However I practise alone since 2008 and I discover my own personal enlightened and philosophy of which I felt has given a good state of health.
wowww ! the most amazing powerful expression of real tai qi quan ! another level! another planet
Incredible!
amazing
His form is ugly, but his power is unparalleled! It's proof that having a nice form doesn't mean anything. It's about what's going inside! Legendary grandmaster Huang shows it to us. So many things we can learn, but nothing we can truly see.
A good flow.
Anyone heard of this guitar melody? It is kool and suits the video.
it looks like a fine improvisation melody.
@@vitalyromas6752 it most definilty is! it's basicly fingerpicking on a EMadd9 chord, it has a very mysterious sound, basis for "for the love of god" by steve vai, you should check it out, you won't regret it!
Thank you SiFu
This is not the full 37 form of CMC. The "Golden rooster stands on one leg" section is not there.
Wow didnt even catch it. I was so blown away by the other parts. Maybe at his age he had to leave them out....
Where is the lady's hand of Professor Cheng Tai chi?And what about separation of weight?Last but not the least, where are the postures of "Separete the Feet (left and right)" and "Turning and Kick with the Heel" as well the Low punching" one?
dont worry about it
Jiluso when a master does it it is very different, you sometimes cannot even see the external, the movements become so internalized, whatever it is trust me there is no way this master is doing it wrong, but you might be able to see the fundamental foot movements. This is why Taichi is so complex, it is not an art you can use in self-defence after a few months, this is like wine only after years depending on your practice too, will you see the benefits, but when it serves you it serves you well compared to external arts, each master absorbs and interprets the form in their own way after mastering and "soaking" the fundamentals of it it in their body, their Chi becomes the form, I am learning this form from one of his students. I used to do Chen Taichi too.
Alexander knows what he is talking about ..finally some sense here on youtube
@Alexander Glavan surpassed by far..? Nobody has ever reached the level of Professor Cheng in Taiiji, GM Huang was an exellent White Crane Master and reached the Top level in Both styles!
We Will never agree om this one,☺
difficult to see how these movements made his so strong. i guess the secret is in the legs.
When very relaxed you become very strong. 'Song' is the key to tai ji's power.
Was he hakka? Those curved shoulders/back look like the result of classic internal hakka systems (pak mei, southern mantis etc).
Ahh yes that does round the shoulders too. Makes sense in light of some of the demonstrations too perhaps - his power almost appears more 'shock' like than other taiji styles (not all the time I should add, but certainly a hint of it).
He was White Crane initially his original art...not sure about others, but White Crane is a external style.
He studied Fujian white crane from age of fourteen years I believe
How about the music? Anyone can shed some light on the acoustic? :)
it's simply a guitar playing a Emadd9 chord '-)
少了五式?

No worry, just to think! This is not Cheng Man Ching Tai Chi!
It's Huang Taichi. But he's CMC's best disciple, by far. And he became much better than his master.
Returning again to this vídeo. This performance shows improper aplication of correct Tai Chi principles. It's full of incorrect details.
Such as? I'd like to know your input, thanks. He looks quite skilled to me and in reading these comments, his reputation precedes him. He seems to be a master, who has practiced this for decades. I'm intrigued as to what improper application of Tai Chi principles and incorrect details you speak of. Thank you.
Jose you do not understand Taichi I live in a country with many Chinese masters and I am learning from the master's student (The master above), I am lucky to understand the subtlety of Tai Chi, if you are lucky to live in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore you will be blessed to get many masters and different styles and good Tai Chi ..and Kung-fu too. There are other countries with good masters, but these countries I mentioned have many good masters aplenty.
Subendran Dali Ravindran How can you make such a judgement about me when you don’t even know me? I’ve been studying and practicing tai chi for 25 years now. Also you did not even answer my questions- what is wrong with this grandmaster’s form? What specifically about his execution is not good?
I’m interested in hearing the details of your criticisms, that’s why I asked. I’m not interested in your background or where you studied. Please answer and tell us what’s wrong with the form here. Thank you
Jofrica the comment was not meant for you and I am actually agreeing with you and I started the sentence with the name Jose :) also please read my other comments above.
Subendran Dali Ravindran Right on! My name is also Jose haha! Was wondering how you knew my name lol. Apologies and sorry for the confusion.
He was too old to do the demonstration. His movement was not up to the standard and he was like a walking dead. He gave me such a negative impression that people practicing Taiji are just wasting their time although this is not neccessary the case.
