I Do Recommend The Talon of Horus its detail to how the once proud Traitor Legions decay and turn on each other, the formation of the black legion and the birth of the 1st Black crusade, I cant wait for the 3rd book to come out, The Narration through Thousand Sons Iskandar Khayon is excellent, you carnet help but feel why he turned out the way he did as he witnessed all theses events. any way time for some of short story's of Malcador's Knights errant heard one of the story's links up to the Angles of Caliban. :D

Jezz Ofprezz made even better again by the fact that demons of Slaanesh feed (among other things) off of pride, or at the very least their own makes them stronger. Rylanor effectively weakened Fulgrim permanently, which is almost impossible to do with a demon of any kind.

In the actual story, they had time to stop Vistario. It mentions that they felt the decision be made. That means all three knew what was going to happen and let it.

...in addition to being a SPECTACULAR raised middle finger to that prideful little shit, Fulgrim, remind me of this line from The Wrath of Khan...

Yeah, between dead and being heavily wounded (physically or mentally), the worst of the two is the latter, because a quick death will remove all pain from the being, but a heavy wound will always be there, reminding you of your failure and/or fall, with is the exact case here, Fulgrim not only will forever remember of his failure to convert one of his most respected sons, but also of his fall from one of the most respected chapters (I don't know about this last part)

Razvan Constantin but atleast his unwavering loyalty and love to Emps and Imperium was so inspiring even when he is about to die 2 thousand sons chaos marine decided to die with a bang(it means that even after 10000 years after the Heresy they might still have a little shard of reminder about decency and respect plus loyalty after all it was not the thousand sons and magnus who betryayed the Imperium but imperium betrayed them)
Hats off to Rylanor, man this guy was something truly special- he even defied his own primearch for the glory of the emperor of mankind... nothing short of charismatic this guy. Its sad to hear that his tale had to end then and there, I would have loved to hear more of him in active service- perhaps even a place in the Deathwatch so that he may serve beside his loyalist brothers again despite being a member of a Traitor deemed legion.
Robert Turiel loyalist Marines of traitor origin are a good example that a good soldier may follow his superior(Primarch) without question but a better soldier follows his own gut(What is right or wrong and instinct(Following orders blindly without thinking the consequences)

Disregarding a true horror Ancient Rylanor saw upon facing his fate, his Primarch now a demon prince of ruinous powers, Thousand Sons being pushed into clutches of Tzeentch, he himself being torn out of his Dreadnought armour and mutated by Fulgrim, the venerable Astartes never lost his firm grip on what was the most important in his entire life: sense of duty, pride of being who he was, utter and unshakable determination in his service, defiance against and rejection of what was opposing his principles..
A beautiful ending to his story, both saddening, because such a character had to meet his end, and fascinatingly inspirational due to display of how the willpower of basically defenceless and crippled warrior turned out to be stronger than brute force of his opponent.
Remleiz and 40K Theories' crew, I wanted to thank you all for the effort of bringing Rylanor's story to broad audience. Well done!
In 40k, death is a certainty. This death is one of the best things anyone could wish for.
It is said, imperial scholars attempted to build a statue in memorium to Rylanor, but kept scrapping it because they couldn't get the gravitational pull of the brass balls on him correct.

Being as Deamons (including princes) are made of warp spaghetti and that's made of thoughts, feelings and emotions and pride is one of Fulgrim's biggest emotions.

The Rylanor story should be proof that not everything has to be a mystery. A full and complete story can be so much more satisfying. I cant think of a single person who thinks that Rylanor's story isn't perfect.

Probably the most moving part of Rylanor's final defiance is that it was done in the dark, surrounded by enemies that would have otherwise welcomed him into their fold, and that he resisted even after his trap had been foiled, after his Dreadnaught was sundered, and even as a Daemon Primarch clutched his ruined body.
Besides the fact that its potency was such as to bring three heretics back to the light even knowing the price would be their lives, of course.
Good Lord, what an absolute unit.

It was left out here, but I think its worth mentioning that not all of the three thousand sons marines agreed with this course of action, as it was Vistario- the leader of the expedition whom used an anti-reactive boltor round to shoot the brains out of Ractar, killing him and the thousand sons.

Ancient Rylanor embodied this to the highest degree, both bodies broken, no way to return to the Imperium he loved, he chose to deny is former father face to face, and in the process, redeemed fallen brothers of another chapter. there is no better fitting end for such a warrior, if only he could have returned to the Imperium though, there can never be to many great servants of the God Emperor.

I’m surprised that the thousand sons marines were motivated to drop the barrier by his speech i guess it’s been perfected for a long time.
Spartan A111 it shows that even after 10000 years after the Heresy they still remembered the good ol days before everything got fucked up(H heresy and burning of Prospero) that they still have a sense of decency, respect(Rylanor for his unwavering loyalty to Emps and defying Fulgrim even under the pain of corruption) and who knows a shard of loyalty to Emps(And by that incident that might be a reminder to Magnus and to his sons) after all it was not T Sons who betrayed Emps the Imperium betrayed them.

The last words of Rylanor gave me goosebumps.
Rylanor chose to end the evil his father had become. He chose to remain loyal not matter the cost. To die with honor, integrity, and his dignity intact. Rylanor wanted to remember his father as he was, not what he had become. Seeing this, Fulgrim remembered what he and his sons were allowing a sliver of regret to enter his mind about what they had become.
Ancient Rylanor had been a hero many times over in his life, but no heroic moment so great as that of his death. Honor, duty, integrity, loyalty, and dignity all remaining true even at the moment of his end...that is perfection.
