  • In today's video I talk about what it's like to have a service dog in college and give advice for those of you who are just starting college with a service dog. Good luck if you're starting college soon, and I hope this video can be helpful for you!
I'll also add that I'm wearing a Camp Abilities Delaware (CADE) shirt in this video, but this video is not affiliated with them in any way. That said, if you happen to be or to know a blind kid who likes sports and lives near Delaware, check out CADE! It's a super fun camp :)

Another accommodation for a service dog would be if your exams are in person and you have to write them at your disability centre add into your accommodations that if your exam is at the time of your dogs relieving or food schedule that they give you time out of your exam to do that

I'm going to be a senior this fall semester as well and I'm waiting for a class date for my very first guide dog! Can you do a video on your routine for feeding/watering/relieving your dog during a full day of classes? And did you find any particular equipment useful to have on a college campus? Like a long leash or a blanket for classroom floors?

This was a great video as I’m going into my first semester with a service dog! Also as a Seeing Eye employee I love seeing working guides 🥺

This was a great video as always Kay. I’m going to be a senior in college as well and also don’t know where the time went or how that happened lol. I’m on the waitlist for my first Guide Dog now and it was really hoping to have a match before the beginning of the semester but unfortunately it doesn’t look like I will so I’m hoping to have one over winter break instead. These tips are all really helpful and good things to keep in mind so I really appreciate you making a video

If your dog gets an ear infection, you don’t want to be waiting weeks or months for an appointment…. Oh boy, yeah 😂

Hi Kay I love your channel your advice is great. I am wondering I have a service dog who is a golden retriever and I have gone through a few coats especially rain coats and they don’t last or don’t fit right. Could you offer some advice on this? Thank you so much

I love camp abilities. Any tips for being a new coach from transitioning as an athlete? You should come to AZ camp abilities sometime.

Kay as you know I have been a subscriber of yours for a while and you may have already answered this in another video, but what are you majoring in?
I have my degree in human services and I'm considering going back to school to get a bachelors degree in public relations, to kind of go along with the job that I currently have to enhance my skills. Do you have any advice?

How blind is she? What does legally blind mean in this case?
