Unplanned is the inspiring true story of one woman’s journey of transformation.
All Abby Johnson ever wanted to do was help women. As one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation, she was involved in upwards of 22,000 abortions and counseled countless women about their reproductive choices. Her passion surrounding a woman’s right to choose even led her to become a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood, fighting to enact legislation for the cause she so deeply believed in.
Until the day she saw something that changed everything, leading Abby Johnson to join her former enemies at 40 Days For Life, and become one of the most ardent pro-life speakers in America.

My mom was 17 drug addicted and already had my sister when she was 16 back in '76. Doctors, aunts, even my gramma urged her to get an abortion. After all, she is why abortions where legalized, the young drug addicted alcoholic women who had been raped. Well, she kept me it was a nightmare. I was taken away when i was 3 and raised in a pretty abusive home anyways. But im okay and i cant imagine a world without me. I stopped a guy from killing him self when i was 20. He has kids now and lives a fully realized life. I have more then once stopped a creep trying to assault a woman, and once saved a young girl who had fallen off a cliff into the ocean i didnt hesitate i jumped the cliff and saved her. Point is, God found good purposes for me. Im not very handsome or particularily intellegent but im smart enough to know God needed me and so i live my life knowing that i need God. Thanks mom . r.i.p.

If you are born in a first or second world country, even with a drug-addicted mother who is raped, you are very lucky to make it in life even as a homeless person and are able to do these amazing things for others. You are very lucky to be able to read and write, and, by my assumption, you are lucky to have enough food and water to live and be able to learn these things. Pro-choice doesn't mean pro-death. Pro-choice means pro-education, pro-freshwater, pro-medicine, pro-food, pro-mental-health resources, and pro-earth; which ultimately means pro-life, and a long, painless life.
The children who are starving in the nations of Africa that will not make it to the age of 5 years old have died, will die today, and will continue to die in the future. Those are the nations without legislation, without cheap resources for women for their needs such as planned parenthood (or for men either), without a strong military that will fight and kill to keep their country save, and without basic needs that our fragile lives need. Let me repeat that: they don't have a strong military composed of mostly men to kill and be killed- and be honored when they come back. If you are pro-life, you have to say that the military is wrong too because they kill others.
The amount of freshwater, food, coal, fresh air, clothing, and matter in general cannot be created or destroyed. Life can be created and can multiply, but 13% of the 7.8 billion do not have access to fresh water and will die in three days. That means that 1,014,000,000 people will die very soon from a lack of fresh water. Dying of thirst is a painful way to go because one has a heart attack with no medical assistance to numb the pain from the lack of resources available to those people.
The way to solve the abortion epidemic is to advocate for a male birth control, controlled population counts, education for children worldwide, education for women in certain areas, a bigger middle class: a lower upper class and a lower lower class, and access to resources for all until the population levels out to the point that abortion is illegal. The way to solve the military epidemic is to not elect leaders who are headstrong and will not start wars until people don't need to be employed in the military because it isn't useful anymore to kill others.
Planned parenthood doesn't just kill others, and the military doesn't just kill others. One is hated by a large group of people, the other is honored by a large group of people.
I am very proud of you and your mother made the right decision. That was God's plan. We need you, and even if you don't listen to me and disagree, I am okay with that. These theories and ideas of ours are the right thing- for our world right now. Your mother's decision to keep you was the right thing too- for our world and right now. The decision many, many years ago to focus on heterosexual relationships instead of all other relationships to make the human population increase and not die out was the right decision- for our world at that time. The decision to make abortion legal in hospitals (which many people don't protest, only planned parenthood) was the right decision- for our world at that time.
The day will come when we don't need the military, planned parenthood, or any other industry that kills and harms. That day isn't today, and we are all working towards that goal. God bless.

@@EcomExpanseLLC In America, it is possible for others to have control over their own emotions and feelings. Most democratic governments of today are free in that sense, versus the communist governments, which don't allow their residents to have access to things like the Bible, the internet, transportation, the right to vote including who they want to vote for, or whether or not they want to vote, or even things such as food and water. I hope you know that a democratic government is not the same as the democratic party in America.
The people growing up and living in communist governments think that their country and government is the best in the world. This is partly because they don't know any different, and partly because they are fed those lies by their leaders.
America is a strange democracy- to the rest of the world. Although we tend to get along with many other democracies, there's beliefs that both parties have that don't represent a democratic government. Abortion is one of them, the death penalty, fire arms, and welfare for the poor. These are all laws and beliefs that Americans have, but are seen as strange because most other communist governments have these laws in place, only they are more extreme. To take the death penalty as an example, this law is used very often in communist governments for reasons such as exercising freedom of speech. However, in American, this law is rarely ever used, but many people still believe it is necessary in America.
Both republicans and democrats believe in death- democrats with abortion, republicans with the death penalty. Both republicans and democrats believe in the dewey decimal system instead of switching to the metric system because it makes our education system seem more vigorous, even though it only leads to confusion and disaster when we have to measure things and convert units. Both republicans and democrats blame the other side when the president does something wrong, as if they forget that there's a whole other set of people who share that responsibility: the Senate, Cabinet, and Congress, and these people are almost always of both parties. In other words, you can blame the republicans of the Senate, Cabinet, and Congress for Obamacare, and you can blame the democrats for not stopping anyone from removing the expensive pandemic prevention law put in by President George Bush Jr. to temporarily make the economy better. On the other hand, it is the president that signs these bills into laws, (or takes them away), but the Senate, Cabinet, and Congress have a lot to do with these practices as well.
Studies have shown that people with strong political beliefs in America tend to demonize the other party and think that their own party has perfect beliefs. This is very far from the truth when studying the history of America, as the beliefs of each party changes, and in some cases, it makes a full 180 degree change. As an example of the latter, President George Bush senior labeled himself a republican, and he had a campaign that was centered around wanting to help the environment. Unfortunately, his way of helping the environment was very drastic and ended up hurting the economy, so he ended up having to take care of that instead. Today, it seems as if republicans and climate change beliefs don't mix. Many other presidents of both parties build upon the last laws put into place by the previous president to make them stronger. President Barack Obama created a law centered around ending animal cruelty, and President Donald Trump extended that law to make it illegal to distribute videos of animal cruelty.
You don't have to agree with any of this, and you shouldn't. You should find these things out for yourself and prove that they are right yourself. You are able to do that if you have an internet connection and a device that connects you to the internet, and you are absolutely able to verify these things if you have access to high-level education at an accredited American university, because after all, the internet is only so right.

For instance, the 13-week scene where the fetus is trying to fight back because it is in pain or feeling uncomfortable. That is BS. A 13-week fetus does not have that level of cognition and cannot feel pain because the required neurons that would allow for that feeling don’t develop till the 3rd trimester and abortions are done way before that.

I'm so glad they've made this movie, but ad campaign wise? I feel like this trailer is going to compel a lot of already pro-life Christians to flock to the theaters, but no one who needs their minds changed. Anyone pro-abortion would see this trailer and roll their eyes and scoff at all the Christianese and pro-life buzz phrases. Everything from the declaration that it's from the same makers as "God's Not Dead," to the dialogue they included about being a baby from conception and the prayer committing the babies' souls to God is going to drive pro-abortion people away from the theaters, not invite them in to have their perspectives changed. And don't get me wrong, that dialogue belongs in the movie. Just maybe not the trailer, if they actually want to reach the lost. For the trailer, they should have focused more on the angle of finding out what really happens in these facilities, and emphasized how this is a true story. The vast majority of pro-abortion people are not going to want to pay to watch this movie based on this trailer, especially when all the spoilers and plot points are given away already. There's no mystery left here. No intrigue. No "I wonder what happens in this movie?" Even the procedure that changed Abby's mind is framed up nice and special in the trailer so that everyone knows THAT'S the moment, and everyone at the movies will know what's coming and it won't be as shocking and jarring as it should be. I believe this movie could change lives, and save lives, but only if the ad campaign can get pro-abortion people in the door.

She has a lot to say about how the movement treats abortion workers and women actually having abortions, and the things she has to say about a lot of the pro-life movement...isn't flattering, to say it mildly. I didn't see most of that stuff in the trailer, but I saw it pretty heavily hinted at in some of the other promotional materials I've seen.

If Jada Smith's "Red Table Talk" show can be on billboards in downtowns and banners in shopping malls, surely someone would consider funding some advertising. Also, flyers & inviting people to the movie is always an option. You can also order it on DVD through the mail, and if you still can't get it, worst comes to worst, I can always buy the DVD here and send it to you myself.
It's definitely a movie I would recommend seeing. Keep in mind that it is rated R and will definitely make you cry. I understand why abortion is such a tough concept for people.
But sometimes, alot of times, having a baby is not the best choice.
Yes there are so many parent's who are grateful they decided to have their kids.
But there's many mothers who have children due to rape and are pressured to go through birth because their families don't support abortion.
Trust me, that has traumatized mothers before.
I've read from a woman who wants NOTHING to do with her child because the experience of birth and family pressure was too much for her. She would have aborted if she could.
There's also the hundreds of children in abusive homes with mothers/parents who neglect them and arent up to the responsibility of raising a kid.
Then you have the children in orphanages to who dont even get adopted and have to be kicked out by the age of 18, forcing them into homelessness.
I totally understand why people dont like abortion. But a woman's body is her temple. If she doesnt feel confident in raising a child or it ends up risking her life and/or mental health, she has every right to abort!!

Or the right to "choose" to abstain from sex if you want 💯 guarantee of not being pregnant ever! Or the choice to have a hysterectomy!! I understand not everyone wants to be a mother but... what about the baby's right... who will speak out for them??? No one hears that literal scream as their poor bodies are being ripped apart... I know because I was part of a surgical team and unknowingly the "d&c" procedure also included an abortion and I watched that baby have no one to advocate for them! I ran out that room totally wrecked by the barbarism in our own backyard 💔 ... the pure horror.
Yes life is tough... but we need to work together for better solutions than taking an innocent life... thank God for His unconditional love, truth, forgiveness and grace in spite of our not so great choices that we all have made or will make🙏🏽

(as this affects their psychological health) chromosomal abnormalities, and medical conditions that place the mother of fetus at risk of death, and for fetuses growing without working organs which decreases their quality of life, but I am against abortions being used as a form or contraception. People need to be held accountable for their actions instead of being allowed to commit murder. If that’s the case why are other murderers in jail?? I'm saying that, since there are also women who don't regret having abortions, is being pro-choice (alongside the advocation of healthcare facilities such as counselling sessions prior to the procedure) not the way to ensure all women have the freedom to decide what is best for them?

To anyone that thinks a first trimester baby is a clump of cells, I suffered the loss of my second baby at 10 weeks, It was what is called a missed miscarriage since we saw her heartbeat earlier on. I prayed I did not have to go through a d&c which is the medical procedure to take out the baby once he/she dies in the womb (D&C is also used for abortion as it scraps the uterus of its content (baby))...well I did not have to , it happened naturally and I saw my tiny angel perfectly formed came out...only God knows why the pregnancy did not continue.10 weeks is actually less than 2 calendar months since doctors count the age since last period. My little baby was not a tissue but a tiny human. This movie is powerful and very compassionate, no one is shaming anyone who have committed abortion, what we would like is to make it unthinkable, it is the murder of the most innocent being in what should be the most sacred place..after all we all start there.

For anyone who's asking, "How could anybody be pro-choice?" I'm pro-choice and here's why. I personally don't believe that life begins at conception, I believe that life begins with brain activity. But I know that that is a very personal belief that I can't convince anyone to change. But something that others need to realize is that plenty of pro-choicers don't like abortion. A lot of us think it's sad. BUT what we realize is that banning abortion has never actually reduced the number of abortions, it just stops women from having safe, clean places to have the procedure. For example, when Romania banned abortion in 1966, the motherhood mortality rate doubled (source: foreignpolicy.com/2019/05/16/what-actually-happens-when-a-country-bans-abortion-romania-alabama/ ). Bans also disproportionately affect poor women, while rich women are always able to bribe someone to have the procedure done safely. If you actually want to reduce abortion, fight for better access to sex ed and birth control. But history has shown that bans DON'T WORK and instead only put women's lives at risk. And if you think that women who want abortions should deserve to die, then there's nothing I can say to you.

    • @daerdevvyl4314
      @daerdevvyl4314 Před 4 lety +12

Katie Rogers There are a lot of abortions performed after brain activity starts.
I have statistics that show the opposite of what you say. And it seems obvious to me that when something is criminalized, some people will break the law but some will follow it, whether because they’re afraid of the legal consequences or some other reason. I would expect that a lot would not seek illegal abortions precisely because of the risks that you talk about.
Times have changed since Roe v Wade. It used to be that getting pregnant out of wedlock was something to be ashamed of, and would certainly be a huge financial problem for a young unmarried girl. Now very few people would shame a girl for getting pregnant before she’s married, and there are lots of people and organizations to provide support of all kinds, including finding adoptive parents if that’s what the mother chooses. I’m not saying everything is easy, especially if she keeps her baby, but I don’t think that it could still be considered something that will “ruin her life” like it was in the olden days.

I'm pro life but I think you are right. Women will have abortions anyway. If we don't provide a safe place to help them, they will die and sometimes leave their other children behind as well. It's a real difficult situation because the unborn child also is a living human being and not the mothers body but it's own. The way Planned Parenthood goes about it, is wrong. Dubbeling the abortion rate in a clinic is not help, that is murder in numbers. But helping a woman who otherwise would stick a needle in her whom is preventing at least one dead body and thus that is help. But it's difficult to draw the line I think. An unborn still is a life that ends by abortion. We should think deeply about the subject of abortion and be way more careful about it then Planned Parenthood is.

I just got home from the theater here in Bryan/College Station Texas where this story took place.
Man,,,, talk about hitting close to home. We've only lived here 4 months but know a few women who were the ones who were actually outside the fence praying for the woman as well as the barrels of aborted babies being taken away.
To know the real firsthand stories of those who were there and know Abby personally is so surreal.
I don't care what your position is on this subject, if this doesn't cause you to have some deep heart conversations with yourself, you have serious issues.
I must also say that the huge cheer that erupted from the theater felt really good knowing that this is no longer being perpetuated on the young woman in this community.

Unlike BoRhap, this film is derived from many first hand accounts and actual court documents; it is not a fan fiction about a band member with some facts strewn in it. You really should watch the film and see how abortion is very wrong. Life begins at conception. God bless.

I believe that God has given us free will, and when children are aborted, he opens them with open arms and is greatly sad that they did not have the chance to make a difference to many others on Earth. God didn’t make the choice, we did. And free will allows us to choose to be good and pass a “test” (AKA life in general) to get to heaven. If we didn’t have free will, we would basically be robots with preprogrammed choices and no real will or choice in passing the test of life. That’s like taking a test with all the answers. You get a 100 but it wasn’t you that got the hundred, it was the preprogramming.

Don’t have a baby if you aren’t ready. Tell that to the women who was raped and is now forced to carry that child and that psychological pain for 9 months who never asked to be pregnant.

Tell that to the mother who just watched her baby live for 3 hours in pain after suffering for months in her womb due to a fatal birth defect.

I saw this movie. Contrary to what people may think, it’s not a movie that pushes Christianity or becoming a believer in God. It shows the struggle some woman have especially when learning about religion while growing up.
But the main thing I took away was the inside look at Planned Parenthood. The way they leave out certain things and how they dehumanize unborn babies is crazy. They never tell a woman that no matter what happens, the memory of her unborn baby will be something that she can never get rid of. Many woman go through depression when that memory resurfaces which can take years to happen. The movie shows an insider’s perspective on what their real priorities are. And it’s made very clear that while PP offers other services to women, abortions are their money maker.
