Hillenburg era SpongeBob had this "relaxingly surreal" vibe. So many episodes would start out with the premise "our characters are just relaxing, enjoying the day"
yeah dude, the creative director who took over after the spongebob movie kinda ruined the series. Spongebob while goofy, had a sort of maturity to it, the later seasons became toddler-level humor mixed with body horror for some reason. weird combo.
@@John-X It basically became Ren and Stimpy underwater. Loud, irritating, vulgar and grotesque. The first three seasons have a timeless, professional quality that entertains on multiple levels. Some of the best animated television ever.

In my opinion it is THE greatest cartoon of all time, I am obviously biased since I grew up with it but even watching it back now I still see amazing things that I didn't catch as a kid growing up. I owe the creator(s) of the show so so so much.

My grandma recently died of stage 4 lung cancer a couple months ago but I remember in her last days this is all she would listen to. It filled the hospital room with a soft Hawaiian vibe and for a moment, it almost felt as if we weren't in a hospital. Almost as if she wasn't dying of cancer. This song will forever last in my mind as her memento in my life. Thankyou Stephen Hillenburg for all that you've done. You've certainly left a lasting impact on my family.

I absolutely adore the production soundtrack for this show. It’s weird because I was only born in 2004 but I grew up with all the stuff my older brother liked who is like 3 years older than me, but the really early 2000’s strike such a nerve in my nostalgia I can’t explain it. I also never knew how much I liked this genre of calm elevator music
I'm also born in 2004 and pretty much everyone else from my generation around where I live has also seen plenty of SpongeBob. The fact that my country didn't get a dub of the show until like 2004 may have played a small role in it, but it's probably just because SpongeBob is a damn good show.
I guess that feeling is more common than i thought. I was born in late 2007 but i grew up with the things my mom saved from the last 90s and 2000s. That time is just better even though I’ve never experienced it myself

Growing up in the tropics watching Spongebob every day and evening and seeing palm trees swaying outside to the calm music made such a vibe as a kid. Then chilling to season 1, 2 & 3 episodes on Saturdays was so relaxing. Makes me wonder what everyone's doing in Bikini Bottom right now. 😇❤

they were "hidden" between the funny moments on the episodes! So people just focused on the funny thing to laugh but couldn't hear (or remember) the songs

i'm 26 now, but spongebob was such a huge source of entertainment for me when i was a kid. while i haven't kept up with the shows newer episodes, it's always a joy seeing clips of old episodes popping up on your feed here and there. this soundtrack compilation really encapsulates an era of youth and bliss, which perfectly describe what spongebob means to me.
This is a great playlist to sit quietly in a comfy chair and knit or read a good book on your day off. Imagine your house is nice and cleaned, all your errands are finished, your free and in peace, and you’re just reclining like SpongeBob in his library.

@@mrh533 I’ve seen gnomes with my own eyes. They are discrete though and hate being seen by humans. They live in forests and usually come out at night, they are very social creatures and are always sitting around a fire singing, telling stories and the like. The one I saw was very weird yet cute, he made a little giggle noise as he used some sort of magic and disappeared in front of me. I all of a sudden felt tired and woke up in the woods near a cottage, as the sunrises I felt happy, as if I had gained something. I felt like a changed man and looked inside the cottage, a note was on the table and it read “see you in the next life! Mere mortal”. I’m still not sure what that meant but I am yet to see another gnome. Sometimes I like to go into the woods at night and watch the stars and I can distantly hear that same gnome laugh and some gnomish language being spoken. Life is beautiful. You just have to find the beauty.
I lost my Mom to cancer 3 months ago... We used to love watching Spongebob together, especially if we had a bad cold or weren't feeling well otherwise; she always said it made her feel better. This music makes me think of her and all the happy times we had with the show.

Sure the story writing, animation, and voice acting done for this series is phenomenal, but the music brings it all together. Many iconic music pieces have come out of this show, and it's proof the show would be nothing without the music. Kudos to the composers and songwriters.

It’s 5am and “Hawaiian Breeze” just hit me with a wave of bittersweet nostalgia. I used to buy the DVDs for this show as a kid. Those days are over and it almost feels sad when the realization hits you.

What’s messed up is as soon as he died the people started doing things with his show he told them he never wanted to do. One of which was a spin-off show for patrick and other characters. But the one for patrick happened shortly after his passing and look how horrible that was. I feel like they waited for him to pass away so they could change his show in some ways thinking it’ll line up their pockets. That’s why in my mind the spongebob episodes Stephen made which I believe was up to season 3 was the real spongebob show everything else after his passing is a direct corruption of his show.

Many of the ambient tunes in SpongeBob inadvertently allowed me to develop a taste for elite level music without even knowing it. The level of instrumental exposure from both the vintage and more modern compositions was off the chain! I'm grateful to have thoroughly listened to the show just as much as I watched it!

I wish I had gotten to experience SpongeBob as a kid. When I was little I wasn't allowed to watch it as it was a "bad influence". Now I'm 16 and my 7 year old sister gets to watch it whenever she wants. Everyone seems to be so nostalgic and have such good memories. Watching it now is pretty nice, but isn't quite the same as experiencing something you loved when you were little. I feel robbed.
