There’s something about old SpongeBob that can never be recreated
I know right I really feel like spongebob and Patrick are down there right now lmao it is such a weird feeling no other cartoon ever gave to me as a kid. Old spongebob was so special and funny the new spongebob just feels childish and not as deep. Old spongebob had Shakespeare references and all kinds of crazy stuff and now it’s all nonsense :(
Yes. The first 3 seasons are utter treasures. I am 53 years old but I love to watch old episodes with my 10 yr old nephew.
It’s not just the show’s content that contributes to the special feeling of old SpongeBob but the circumstances that old SpongeBob was watched under.
Like for me, old SpongeBob means the slightly different character design they had for SpongeBob in the earlier seasons, the OG painted backgrounds, and the Nickelodeon bumpers that were on at the time, but it also means being 6-7 years old watching seasons 1-3 in 4:3 aspect ratio on a 480p TV at my grandma’s house because my mom wouldn’t let me watch it at home cause she thought it’d “rot my brain”.
It changed after Steve died.. Had a sick touch to it after that.. A shame because I loved to watch it with my daughter.
Some of the episodes even had a violent touch to it. Like the one where Patrick has a tiny Spongebob abd vice versa.. it induces violence on a subconscious level.
Once you know how the subconscious mind works you know.. and no I do not think it's accidental.
Exactly the later seasons were forced and trash comedy.

No other cartoon or show made me feel like spongebob did. It’s so hard to describe. Old spongebob was like a baby blanket or something, it was so funny, comforting and it felt like spongebob was a friend when I was a kid :) I could watch spongebob for hours and hours. It was really the perfect show and I still can’t describe the feeling of what it was like to sit and watch it at night after school or on a snow day inside, or on DVD in the morning. I don’t think any cartoon will be able to create that feeling again. The special Christmas episodes and Halloween episodes always got me in the spirit. I miss watching them on dvd at home, I haven’t felt like that since. The music, deepness and humor were perfect. So many good memories.

After some time i just always started watching spongebob when i felt i was getting another panic attack and it calmed me so much. Decades ago as a child. Watching SpongeBob listening to the music in the background of your favorite episode.. waiting for a commercial so you can run and grab a snack..
Who knew that when you got older you’d forget about your childhood.. who knew you’d be scrolling through this platform on an application on a telephone.. and listen to the sweet, happy, soothing sounds of spongebobs Hawaiian music.

I never would've thought I'd feel so sad listening to spongebob music, but here we are.
But its good sad, this playlist really hits a specific place in my heart that is hard to describe.
My Dad, brother, and I have been watching Spongebob together since before I can remember. It has always been something that connects us. I never feel closer to my family than with Spongebob. We quote episodes daily, talk about how often it made us laugh. I love Spongebob with all my heart.
It’s weird how this really soothes my anxiety more than anything else…maybe it’s the nostalgia and comfort whilst being very relaxing. I wish I could go back 20 years to bring back the good SpongeBob days.
The love we all share for original Spongebob and the feelings it caused in us is all so beautiful. And its never truly over. Yes we've grown up, yes life is different; but somewhere in time is you sitting there watching Spongebob without a care in the world. That kid is still in there, folks! The first couple season of SpongeBob is something that can never be replaced, being a kid when the show first aired watching the first episode hearing the music and knowing it’s something great.
Its currently 1:30 am im relaxing in my recliner by my warm fireplace sipping on a glass of whisky and coke slightly buzzed with headphones in listening to this.
I know we live in a crazy world but its small moments like this that make me happy where i feel like its just me and nothing else matters and i feel like im in a perfect empty world thats the best way i can describe it.

I grew up watching SpongeBob and I still watch it as a 24 yr old… when my grandma passed away from Covid, I remember I couldn’t sleep much. I woke up crying so much. I went on Amazon Prime and put on SpongeBob. I watched it until I stopped crying and fell back asleep. Thank you SpongeBob for being my comfort.
One of the biggest problems I have with the recent episodes is this: Old Spongebob made it VERY clear that Bikini Bottom was near Hawaii or somewhere else tropical. Now, they only use this music because it's iconic. Now, it just feels like a weirder Atlantis. I hate it. I miss this. The blissfulness.

It's no wonder this show had such a strong start. Stephen Hillenburg had such a passion for marine life and the writing team put a lot of love into storyboarding and scripting. The early animation also felt nice too. It didn't feel too clean and it was really fluid. To be a kid again

I have always noticed that SpongeBob's ambience music has some kind of charming energy, which at the same time fascinates and brings a slight peace, as if you are literally living the night in Bikini Bottom. At these moments, I feel like I want to lie down on a beach chair, pick up a soda and enjoy by harmony of the night atmosphere near the pineapple house under lulling sounds of jellyfish and ocean waves, accompanied by relaxing composition of ukulele.

Lately my symptoms have become more intense and on some nights where I’ve had to get up and cry in the bathtub, take meds and hope I can get back to sleep, this music specifically calms me. Not piano, not binaural beats, when im in pain, this knocks me out. Thank you so much for posting this!

When SpongeBob wasn't just nonsense, it had substance, bikini bottom felt like the perfect beach town so full of life it really made you feel things. God I love older SpongeBob

i am currently sick and unable to sleep. i haven't played this video for a long time and i forgot about my comment. seeing it now made me cry, especially the last sentence. so much in my life has changed and we should just be grateful for little moments that bring us happines
I woke up last night screaming at the top of my lungs from a terrifying nightmare and I scrolled through CZcams for a bit to see if I could find something relaxing to watch and this was in my feed. I fell asleep peacefully while this was on. It is beautiful.

This music gives me a level of peace and calm that I can't really describe. It's so...deep and strong. I feel like this will be the music that I can pull up in the hardest of times in my life to give me some level of comfort and peace even then.
Every day my grandpa would pick me up from school and I would sit on the couch with my Takis and sweet tea and watch SpongeBob for hours until my mom got home. I have always loved this show and it will forever be a part of my childhood. I don’t regret the time I spent learning the whole backstory about any and every episode, I as a person enjoy any part about this entire show…no joke. I appreciate you posting this, and I know that it’s just some bikini bottom music, but not when you had a childhood like me man. I’ve watched every episode and I will forever be happy knowing that I know the deep lore about this show. May the day come when this masterpiece of a show end, my childhood will end. I love the feeling of hearing the music of SpongeBob and immediately knowing what part of an episode it was from, you never thought that you could hear music and know exactly how a character was feeling until you’ve watched enough SpongeBob. I am forever grateful for all the memories I’ve had and I will love and cherish SpongeBob for carrying my entire childhood. Nothing is better than the sound of a SpongeBob episode and knowing it’s going to be an amazing day. The show will never fail to put a smile on my face. ♥️

I really had an awful week. Man I tell you what some things at work really just put me in a place. But listening to this, here at home on the weekend, beer cracked open, watching the sky outside, everything’s okay. And that’s all we need sometimes.

I love these mixes. Im liking the side of CZcams that has 24/7 lofi, vaporwave, and just good vibes Streams. These mixes are amazing as well though, they help me when I have anxiety or need to cool down.
Spongebob has always been there for me, regardless of what was occuring in my life, Spongebob was there. Everytime someone important in my life dies, I watch old spongebob. Everytime I go through something terrible, Spongebob is there, It makes me feel better, reminds me of my childhood, we had the spongebob DVDS, and our car had a little mini TV of a sort. We would always play that episode of spongebob where sandy was hibernating, its the most nostalgic to me, I feel like i'll never get to feel that sort of joy again.
I just recently had a failed surgery, I'm a figure skater, but my knee meniscus has ripped totally in half, had a surgery, but it failed, im back where I started, I have another surgery scheduled for October 23rd, theres a chance this one will fail aswell. I have to finish a whole semesters-worth of school in that timeframe, I have no clue if I will be able to do it. I also just recently lost my childhood cat, Bell. She and I would always watch spongebob together, and words cannot describe how much I miss that. She is the most important thing to me, she helped me grow. I'm almost an adult now, and its all thanks to her and the things I grew up with.
The point is, as I'm falling apart mentally in this world, old Spongebob is there for me, always keeping me going, no matter how many times the world punches me in the face.

Spongebob is one of my favorite cartoons in the world, and to know that so many people feel so happy and comforted by the music, yet we all know we will never have the excitement of watching it for the first time.

Scooby-doo, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Ed Edd and Eddy, Rugrats, Codename: Kids Next Door, Hey Arnold, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Rocko's Modern Life, etc. The list goes on and on of course, but Spongebob will always be the most memorable and comforting show and will always be on top.
