I’m the sewing fairy godmother 💖
im so so so so SO incredibly glad I found your channel
could you do replacing a regular waist with a buttoned stretchy waist to a pair of normal pants or jeans? love your videos so much!
This is such a great idea! Thank you for doing this! And also thank whoever asked for this originally!
Welcome 🤗 Thank you for watching.
When you're sewing a binding in the round, on the initial seam you can start sewing an inch or two along and stop an inch or two from the end, then you mark an overlap point, match the two loose ends of the binding right sides together lining up the mark you just made, stitch either straight across or turn them 90 degrees and sew on the diagonal (right from overlap-corner to overlap-corner), trim and press the seam open, and then go back and complete the initial stitch in the round. This gives you a continuous loop of binding that's always the right size and has a perfect join with a minimal amount of bulk..
Totally. I love that way too. I was just trying to keep it simple for the beginners :)
Omg! Thank you so much, I requested this.
I always manage to find some flaw in my dresses and know what alterations will make them look better but don't know how to do them myself.😅
Thank you for requesting this! It’s the question I always have but didn’t know I needed to ask. Thank you for articulating it!
I’m so thankful I found you, your videos and pointers are amazing. Love that I get notifications as soon as they drop. You are amazing!!!!!’❤
Thank you so much for watching :)
Thank you Anastasia. You are so clever.
Thank you for the lovely compliment, it means a lot to me.
Yes! I love this idea. Thank you!

Ahh I can’t wait to try this!
Woohoo 🥳
❤❤❤Excellent and easy to apply and execute!!!
I hope you give it a try. Happy sewing
Fantastic techniques thank you
I'm glad you found the techniques helpful! Thank you for watching.
Wonderful lesson thank you.
Welcome 🤗
So cute!!! I have a shirt I can do this too!! It’s choking me. 🤣. Thanks!!
lol 😂 Yeah time to change up that neckline
Great tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you!!!!
Thanks a ton for the love!
Id like a video on how to downsize a dress top when the bust is too large. The darts are confusing me. I tried taking in side seams and shoulders but can't quite make it work
i’d love to see a long veil tutorial!
Love this video! I would really love a tutorial on how to make harem/drop crotch pants!
Thanks for the suggestion!
thank you, i have a princess shape dress with a v neck and i want to change it to a sqaure neck, but it seems complicated. if you could make a video to show how its done i would be grateful
I make dance costumes and swim. So I work with a lot of spandex, mesh and other like fabrics. Would love to see a video on bagging (concealing) seams. Especially concealing stretch mesh for a V point on chest. And when bagging corners. Thanks so much for the consideration and love your videos!
Great suggestions. I would like to make some swimwear tutorials this summer so keep an eye out.
Nice. Just wish you would have modeled it 😊
Oh yeah. Every time I don’t someone always requests this. Next time I just have to! lol 😂 Thanks for watching.
Do you have a tutorial on how to make the sleeves and waist of the shirt you're wearing in this video?
I have a blouse that love but since I have lost weight too big. Can I use this same technique?
You will need to take in the blouse first so it fits you & then change the neckline on it. Check out one of my many videos on tailoring tops.
@@SewAnastasia thank you.
Yeah you for getting healthy love ❤
@@Timetravel1111 cut out sugar and carbs by 85%. I had to due to being diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. Specialist said we could reverse it and one way is with diet. It is a lifestyle change but after 6 months I don’t crave sugar as much and I love my chocolate!!
Anastasia, thanks for this tutorial. I made a knit dress and I used bias binding for the armholes but it did not turn out well. The armholes were way too large - I thought that it was my error in using a cotton bias binding with a knit, but now I realise that I probably wasn’t careful enough and I stretched out the armholes. It was a sleeveless dropped shoulder dress, so perhaps I should trim off the tape and start again, I just haven’t picked up the courage yet as I thought I would make a bad situation worse. I have been wearing the dress under jackets or sweaters. 😅 Now, if you could do a tutorial on how to correct that, that would be fantastic!
I would think making self facing/lining might correct that, if you have enough fabric, or make the bias binding from your fashion fabric or another knit fabric. Knits are harder than wovens to sew, but easier to fit! After taking off the bias binding, you might be able to shrink the armholes smaller with steam.
Steam is a great idea as mentioned below. The woven bias facing works on knits as long as you don’t stretch the knit as you sew & you need to keep in mind that’s its stabilizing it so you will no longer have stretch in the area at that seam but it’s not like you want your armholes stretching out. You could also created a full facing as mentioned below.
Beautiful. Could you do a tutorial on a plus size a-line skirt with out elastic or zipper. And a a-line skirt with elastic back and flat front
If the skirt does not have elastic or zipper how would you like to get into it? I have a button up a line skirt that’s plus sized up to 38 & a wrap skirt Aline up to 6X. You can find those at sewanastasia.com. I will add half elastic skirt to my list! Thank you for the suggestions & watching.
Thank you. Do you have a video on how to reduce a bra band? Thank you.
I don’t but I could make one!
@@SewAnastasia That would be so awesome if you could. If you do please let me know. You are amazing, wish I were closer and be in your classes. ❤❤
can I know what presser foot you used for this
🤩🤩👍
🥰 Thank you for watching.
Looks like you lost the symmetry in the finished dress - the heart used as a starting point is shifted over. Any thoughts on how that happened and how one might avoid that?
My neckline is symmetrical. When I originally had it on the dress form it wasn’t. So I shifted it when I folded it in half & measured everything. Thats why that drawing on the body is just a rough of what it will be. It turns out that heart wasn’t center! lol
@@SewAnastasia Thought that might be it!
This is really spectacular truly transformative, beautiful work 👏🪡🧵😉
Thank you 😊
