Why did you have to cut out a pattern for it? Couldn’t you just sew the top after the pins were on?
Maybe she wanted to create a corset effect
Its a sweater top. without the reinforced lining it would start fraying and fall apart.
She mentioned the neckline has to be stiff in order to hold the heart shape
