When you mean by upgraded charge piping, is it the intercooler upgraded charge piping?
Yup, intercooler charge piping. You can either buy an intercooler and use the stock charge piping or upgrade it.

Never put the fe1 down. It’s a fantastic car. I wanted to go back to a type r. I had the fk8 and I wanted the fl5 when I saw its release. Nothing against the si. Just wanted an R
Think the Si was a stopgap for him till the FL5 came out and he wanted something in the newer chassis and interior before the 11th gen Type R released.
It's a natural progression for most enthusiasts to go from the top of the line regular version - Si over to the top of the line brand version - Type R
