They just use a straight stick and wooden hoop, no need for a curved and forked ergonomic handle and a puncturable rubber tire.. Most cultures have had them for a looong time. A "wheel" by definition has some kind of hub in the centre so it can turn on an axle, but they carefully keep using the wrong word to avoid calling it what it really is - a "hoop" - because that makes it too obvious this is just the ancient game of "hoop rolling."
