“Attacking Vulnerable To Cover Up Failures!” Sunak To Call For End To ‘Sick Note Culture’

  • Rishi Sunak is to call for an end to the “sick note culture” and warn against “over-medicalising the everyday challenges and worries of life” in a major speech on welfare reform.
    The Prime Minister will say the focus must shift to what work people might be able to do, amid Government concerns some are being unnecessarily written off as sick and “parked on welfare”.
    The speech comes a month after Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride faced criticism for an interview in which he said there was “a real risk” that “the normal ups and downs of human life” were being labelled as medical conditions which then held people back from working.
    TalkTV’s Sarah Hewson and Dr David Bull are joined by Times Radio presenter James Hanson and former Labour adviser James Schneider.

Farage is a businessman, he makes easy money from other's misery, he's a privately educated city trader, he bets on financial misery of others. Like Rees-Mogg, he'd happily sell his country and it's people down the river to make millions. These people want a return to Victorian times when working class people were no better off than rats in a sewer, with no passageway to ambition or improving their quality of life. The tortes have done an absolute horrendous job of running the country, but I do not think the Labour Party would have done a particularly better job either. Both parties are as bad as each other. The problem with Angela Rayner is that she is always the first one to shout through the roof tops about the tories, but if what she has been accused of is found be true, it just shows her hypocrisy, lack of integrity and self awareness to not be open about her own actions. That to me shows a lack of character and I would not trust such a person in a position of power.

    I own a business. Raising minimum wage is not the answer. We are understaffed as it is, and I would love to hire more people. I just can't afford it.

    I have borderline personality disorder perhaps Rishi would like to spend a day with me he will soon be gone it’s horrendous illness. If you don’t have mental health issues or lived with someone suffering with it you have no right to speak out about it because it’s horrendous to deal with and you will never know the impact on your life and others around you. And you have to take the medication into account as that can make you drowsy etc
    To put it into perspective
    If you never had a broken leg you wouldn’t know just how much pain that causes
    Mental health is the same only difference is you can’t see it and men more so than women are very good at covering it up but actually inside theres a war going on in your head and believe me fighting this illness is extremely exhausting.
    My condition is a diagnosed condition it will never be cured I just have to learn how to manage the mood swings and I hope i can do that so I can try and live a better life and get back to work but it’s not easy
    You can’t just switch it off I wish I could as I would do that in a instant and to be clear I wasn’t born with this condition it was caused from childhood trauma and I have and failed twice on pulling the plug if you get my drift so when I hear these parasites having a go it boils my blood cus they have no clue what this illness does to your every day life and it’s taken 2 years to finally get counselling so you can imagine I’ve been in a dark place for a long time which doesn’t help.

    People with social anxiety should get a video link not come to your office. GP's should be left to decide whether a patient is or is not able to attend work. Even in these days of perhaps not knowing your GP as well as we did in years gone by, they are still better placed to understand a patients problems better than some random "healthcare professional", who's mandate will be to get the patients back to work, no questions asked! Also, as many have mentioned, we'd have more money available if we were not spending (literally) Billions on both Foreign Aid (sometime to countries that are better off than we are - India/China), and to housing people who arrive into this country illegally. I've lost track of how much we spend on housing these migrants, provide them with money, food, transport, etc, etc, while the government is trying all and every way possible to cut benefits to those who really do need them, the sick, the unemployed and the elderly. I've always been a conservative supporter, but they have lost my vote, and I'll not be voting Labour either, as they now seem to be two sides of the same coin.

      Firstly, it is not illegal to seek asylum in any country and by any means necessary. By law, a refugee does not break law entering a country. You would have the same privilege if you had to run from UK for being persecuted or in danger. Secondly, those people would rather be working and actually having a life than being trapped in a limbo, waiting for literal years for a decision to be made on whether or not the UK will grant them asylum. The only reason they have to be cramped in hotel rooms and receiving a benefit (which is btw £7 per day) is because the UK government refuses to do anything about the fact it takes 2+ years to review an asylum application. And whilst their case has not been decided, they are not allowed to work in UK. Wonder why? Perhaps it's all those hotel owners that are getting paid for full rooms by the government whilst cramming 3 strangers into the same hotel room. If you think that's life of luxury, your judgement is worse than I thought.

    • @ShanePalmer-yo4og
      @ShanePalmer-yo4og Před měsícem

      @@TheHestya I agree, people are allowed to seek asylum in the UK. HOWEVER, they have no need whatsoever to approach the UK from France which itself is a safe country for them to be in. If I am correct anyone can seek asylum from the FIRST safe country they enter. Which in the case of the people crossing the channel in small boats, would be a continental European country, so France or another mainland European country. Thy DO NOT have to cross the channel and try to enter THIS country. Also, in most cases these "boat" people are single adult men. NOT females and children. It simply makes no sense whatever. We are wasting BILLIONS of tax payer money on dealing with illegal asylum seekers when it could be better spend on the education of our own children, the elderly, the NHS, the genuine unemployed, etc.

      @@ShanePalmer-yo4og Can does not mean must or have to. Asylum seekers can ask for asylum anywhere. It does not have to be the nearest safe country. It does not have to be the first safe country they enter. It makes sense to go as far as possible. It makes sense to go somewhere you know the language. It makes sense to go where you already a) might have someone you actually know or b) might have someone who shares your culture or language based on other kinds of migration. I'm sorry England has been a conquering country that has taken over a lot of the world in the past, spreading it's language on it's way. Your ancestors made English a global language. French ancestors did not do the same with their language. Plus, you might be surprised, but up until Brexit UK had the image of a tea drinking old lady - harmless after the passage of time, very funny, able to laugh at herself and very polite. It's why I migrated here many years ago with an education provided by another country. I visited as a tourist, liked the polite and nice people I met and when I grew up came here. Also, I don't see why you are surprised it's mostly men. Once the first person has asylum status, I expect it's far safer and easier to get the rest of their family here through other means, like a plane or ferry instead. Plus, when you don't know anyone or anything in a foreign country, like how to get a GP, where you will live, where you will work (although they are not allowed to work until they are granted asylum status, hence all the grumbling about them receiving benefits, which results in £7 per day). The whole process is much smoother when you already have a family member with asylum status here I expect. So of course men come first, deal with being shoved into a hotel room with strangers and waits for 2+ years to get an answer.
