I am over fifty years old and I know I am too old for compitition in the ring, but I really only want to learn for health and self defence reasons. I am not that healthy at the moment, but do you think I should learn it, even if I am the oldest in the club? I appreciate any info ?
I started when I was 47. Yes, If I were you I'd start with a beginners class for a while or some 1:1 classes to get correct technique. Then progress to the normal classes. It will build your strength as well as your conditioning over time. Muay Thai has a lot of cross overs, so you build a very strong core with it, plus you get a mix of steady state cardio and high intensity. It has it all, good choice!
