Dragon Falls (POV) Chessington World of Adventures

- Dragon Falls is a ride at the theme park Chessington World of Adventures in Chessington, London, England. It is located in the Mystic East area of the park. It is a water ride and features two drops, one that leads into the mouth of a dragon and another, taller one between two large 'stone' faces designed to resemble Angkor Wat,which at the time of filming have been removed for refurbishment. The ride's station is modelled after a pagoda and is decorated extensively inside. Although regarded as a 'log flume', the boats are not themed as logs (as in Loggers Leap at nearby Thorpe Park), but rather as wooden boats with inline seating. The ride starts off by traveling out of the loading station and down a peaceful stream, passing bridges and points where the water is rough. Then you travel up a lift hill and down the first drop, which is small, yet has quite a splashdown and into a dragon's mouth. The inside is un-themed, and after traveling along it, you come out into the open, round a lake and then climb up to the top of the lift hill, where you can see over the park. You then splashdown but before you get in to the station an elephant squirts you with water, getting you very wet. Then you travel back into the loading station.
The ride is themed extensively through the land, and features a giant fibreglass Buddha, based on the Great Buddha of Kamakura but looks nothing like it (I have been there), amongst other objects. The ride opened in 1987 and has a height requirement of 1.2m to ride (anyone less than 1.3 metres in height must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or over).

Called tiger rock now and there’s real tigers in it sadly when I went I didn’t see any bc it was so hot but going on the 24th hope I can see some tigers 🐅

i went yesterday on a leavers year 6 trip and i went on dragon fury, rattle snake, this, vampire ride and the tomb blaster it really was awesome and i had a look in the zoo

I went to Chessington recently (first time going to a theme park) and I was absolutely thrilled by the drop at 4:59 when we went on this ride!
I went to Chessington Park a few years ago and I can tell you that it was wonderful, my son and wife loved it, it was a wonderful day that will last a lifetime!!! ❤❤❤❤❤😢

Due to covid, I got to go on this ride 3x in a row, 4x on vampire, 1x on cobra, 2x on dragon fury, one time on the bus thingy and 3 goes on bumper cars. So thank you covid!
I love this ride :D Whenever I go, I go in the morning and there is always NO queue and i went on it 3 times in a row and only stopped for 1 second to get on :)

That thing at the start though is like "Wise dragon says please keep your armas and legs inside the boat at all times" every time a boat leaves. Me and my best friend qued for two hours for that ride and just about went insane hearing that about a million times.
I got on the boat and before you go down I heard it 14 times lol, I waited 10 mins it was empty to wueue
Sad that they are closing this ride ..its one of the few where a family of all ages can enjoy and my favorite ..sitting backwards in the boat for the snap shot was fun

I went there with my school and I had To sit right and the back. When we were going up the big slide I thought I was gonna fall because I had everyone bags and costs.

I went on this with my friends on a school trip. Of course they didn’t tell me about the big drop. After the drop I did have to recover from the shock cause I never go on rides like this. Honestly, I’d love to do it again!! Totally recommend it!

I went to chessington for my bday with my friend (we don't go often but have been quite a lot) and we were having so much fun we didn't notice the giant Buddha infront of us!
Looks like a good solid flume ride. All it needs is some more theming to block out more of the outside world.
It was better themed a few years before the turn around was walled and had theming around the biggest drop .Its changed again now and is called Tiger Rock.

I miss Dragon Falls. Tiger Rock wasn't a very worthy replacement. I didn't see a point on them changing the theme.
Edit: As much as I do like Tiger Rock, I do much prefer Dragon Falls as the Middle Eastern theme with Samurai round the corner really did fit.

Oh okay it's just because I'm going there for my birthday and wanted to record all the rides :) and thank you for replying so quickly :)
Comparing this to tiger rock, (it's replacement) the retheme is much better. The ride originally had theming on the final drop but it got removed and ever since, the ride had been deteriorating. Now, the ride is much better. The dragon tunnel now is a cave with smoke effects in it, the final drop has you go through a giant tiger head and you even go through a tiger enclosure!
Yes it needed some refurbishment.
I went this with my friend and when we was at the big drop circling around it, we started saying I hate my life. Also it’s really good, definitely worth it.

okay, for all the people asking is it good for their age. my six year old brother went on it twice and was laughing the whole ride.

He would be bloody allowed! Its only about size not age, if he was too small the restraints would be too loose so he may have been over the height limit.

This ride stopped literally just as me and my friend were gonna go over the edge and we had to stay in the wind for like 30mins, and I'm not so steady when it comes to heights

When i was at chessington i was on the boat and then
the rails stoped I WAS IN THE BOAT IT TOOK A HOUR TO GET THROUGH THE LINE AND I WAS SO ANNOYED AND SAD
