Teachers can't do anything to fix the problems of our education, almost all teachers hate the way education works but they can't change it, the higher ups have the say so show this to them
I pride myself on my good grades. I work extremely hard to make sure they don't fall. And that's the problem. I, and thousands of other students around the world, have dedicated our lives, our entire existence, to school. A school that can also be effectively labeled as a prison. I'm at school all day, waking up early and going to bed late, due to so much homework. I, and others, don't have time for family. We don't have time for friends or extracurricular activities. We don't have time to rally school spirit, and we don't have time to put in the extra effort school wants us to. Because we're already putting in our all. And yet, we are still told that it isn't enough. We are still threatened, every day, with the idea of being rejected and being judged because what we are doing isn't good enough. Sure, there are students who don't want to learn, students who don't want to care. But since when are those students rewarded, and those that DO care, put on the back burner? Never once have I seen a teacher pull a student aside and say, "You are doing a wonderful job here, and I am proud of you." Not once. The education system, the American one at least, is screwed up. And I desperately wish it could be fixed.
School is where I broke my leg. Where all my anxiety is caused. And where most kids get bullied and than commit suicide. All for what. So we can just go back to learning and learning of things that we forget after the semester is over. Hell I forget it when the day is over or just the class itself

I'm a finnish high school student and I REALLY don't agree with our homework being non existent. Me and my classmates are always exhausted because of homework. I don't get to sleep more than five to seven hours because of the large amount of homework.

There are slight cultural differences that make the educational system different in every country. As a straight A student at some point in my life I can say that teachers like yours ruined my desire to study. Fun fact; I had to do a project for art, and this is my topic. So I showed the original video to my teacher and she was screaming "yes" and jumping up and down. Then everyone in the class room was watching the video over my shoulder our of curiosity and the teacher from the next classroom over cane in to check on us cause she was worried.

But the point is that if a person wants to be, let's say a chef. He has a passion for cooking, he reads a lot of recipes, and he makes very delicious food. So he should take cooking classes. But if a kid does not know his passion yet, then they should take regular classes first in their elementary and middle school years. Once they graduate from middle school, the school they're planning to enroll in should conduct a survey about the kid. They should ask what are you're habits, what are you interested in, questions about the person. Then school will finalize the results and will plan which class that person will attend. And after that, Everybody will love school! (Maybe)

I also showed this to teachers in my school, not only a few though. I requested the principal to be in their meeting for an important announcement that every kid feels and need them to hear. I showed them the video and some were astonished, speechless, and some were even so moved that they cried. I believe that students in many different schools should do the same. I appreciate that I am not the only one fighting for a difference because we need change. Soon our kids will have to go through this same school system unless we stand up now and change today. I also showed this to teachers in my school, not only a few though. I requested the principal to be in their meeting for an important announcement that every kid feels and need them to hear. I showed them the video and some were astonished, speechless, and some were even so moved that they cried. I believe that students in many different schools should do the same. I appreciate that I am not the only one fighting for a difference because we need change. Soon our kids will have to go through this same school system unless we stand up now and change today. Thank you so much.
