British Husband Explains to American Wife | American vs English Football Chants **REACTION**

  • After the amazing response we got from the first reaction video we did of "funny English football chants" we thought we would come back with another similar one, but something tells me this one is gonna be even more fun then the first one.
On another note: for those wondering where the next episode of the inbetweeners is, we actually uploaded it but for some reason it's blocked for viewers in the UK. I suggest if you have VPN switching it on and trying to watch the episode like that would be your best bet. Thank guys!

In the UK you can't rip policy, politics... You can't question the system etc
That's why you have almost no anti system stand ups who make it mainstream

The Football tune at 6:17, is an old England Official music song from 1998:-
"Vindaloo" is the debut single by British band Fat Les, released in 1998 and recorded for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
The music was co-written by Blur bassist Alex James and bassist Guy Pratt.
The lyrics were written by comedian Keith Allen.
The song was originally written as a parody of football chants, but was adopted as one in its own right and became a classic.

Coming from an Englishman who doesn't watch football and is discovering some of these chants for the first time. Another difference is that the US chants needs someone to lead the crowd, whereas the UK ones are more organic so it's probably why everyone is more inclined to join in, because they're not literally being told what to sing

So it's a one-up-manship where the crowd will actively TRY to put the other team off or belittle/mock the other fans by being funnier/more shocking/more passionate and the chanting in itself has become a funny cultural element of the game. American crowds are just different from this, whether in a good way or bad way is down to your own personal opinion

Another part of this I think is the structure and leagues and geography. The US MLS is all franchised right? They are the top teams and they will stay there and they will make a massive catch-zone for fans.
Whilst permanent moves are rare, there is a potential for teams to rise or fall in fortunes in European football, it's really local and it impacts a city or towns development. If you are local to the area, the closest big club is a major influence.
