Mamamoo having these four talented women all in one group reminds me of a sports team having all the top names in their side. It's just not fair.
It's a misconception that Mamamoo isn't very active anymore. In recent years they've split time between group and solo activities but they're always busy - they're one of if not the hardest working group in show biz. Here are a few highlights from the last 12 months:
In June 2023 Mamamoo completed their My Con world tour in Seoul after 9 concerts in the US where they joined TLC, Destiny's Child and the Spice Girls as the only girl groups to sell over 70K tickets on their debut US tour. In all the My Con tour included about 20 concerts in Korea, Asia, the Pacific Islands and the US. In August Mamamoo: My Con the Movie, a documentary about the tour, was shown in theaters around the world.
The Solar/Moonbyul subunit Mamamoo+ released an EP called Two Rabbits in August and performed at festivals around the world for the remainder of the year.
Hwasa left RBW and signed with Psy's label P-Nation in July. She released the single I Love My Body and did a song called Chilli for the tv show Street Woman Fighter 2. She was a member of the tv show Dancing Queens on the Road, which followed a nationwide tour by five 1st to 3rd gen female kpop icons over 12 episodes from May til August. Hwasa also performed solo at many festivals around the world and is currently on a fanmeet tour around Asia to meet and perform for her fans, who are called Twits.
Solar was a judge on a couple of competition tv shows and in January she started a two month run in Seoul as a cast member of Notre Dame de Paris, a musical theatre adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, followed by shows in other Korean cities. Today she released the solo EP Colours, which includes 6 songs in different genres. She wrote or co-wrote the lyrics and music for 5 of the six songs including the main single But I. After a couple weeks of promoting the single and album she'll rejoin Notre Dame de Paris to wrap up the national tour.
Moonbyul released a full length solo album Starlit of Muse in February and is currently on the Asian leg of a solo world tour. Tour dates and locations in other parts of the world haven't been announced yet.
Wheein released a full length solo album In the Mood in October and is currently on a solo world tour, which includes 8 shows in the US in May and June. I'll see her in Brooklyn on June 4.
So in the last year they've released two full length albums, two EPs, a bunch of singles and a movie and started or completed 3 world tours, an Asian tour and a couple of national tours along with dozens of performances at festivals around the world, many appearances on stage and tv, and side gigs such as Hwasa modeling for Louis Vuitton, Valentino and others at European fashion shows. For a group that some people consider inactive it seems to me that Mamamoo has accomplished more in the last year than many groups do in their whole career.

Well they are veteran group now so yes they are not active like they once were. They are still in the same group but most of them signed to different agencies now. Easier on their solo activities but for group promotion it gets a lot harder. So they have to take their time to plan well since each of them have a different schedule now. Veteran group are the ones who do world tour concert. Their junior group purple kiss is putting out more song and trying to become famous like mamamoo so they can get a chance to do a world tour so they are way more active
Agree.. they accomplish more they are hell busy but now they are more focus in their solo activities cause they push it off for their group activities and world tour last year.. i hope by the end of the this year or early next year they have a group comeback i miss them together much..
but i also know its hard cause they need to match each others schedules but its possible hopefully

One of my top 5 girl groups .. not only because they are talented but because they are natural comedians. I can't wait for more MAMAMOO. *SOLAR* on the pole was special, she was the first idol to use a pole on an awards show, as you can imagine everyone had their jaws dropped.
FYI: *SOLAR* had a comeback today with a song / MV called *"BUT I.."*

They are so much fun to see in concert; saw them on their US tour last June. I wish they were doing more together, but Hwasa and Wheein are with different companies now, so even though can still work together, everyone is doing more solo work right now. Love this group SO much! Thanks for the reaction. 💕

I really can't pick a favorite song of theirs but visually, my favorite Mamamoo MV (so far) has been 'Starry Night'. Maybe it's the relaxing vacation feel, I don't know, but every bit of that camera work is stunning. But then 'Egotistic' here is also visually gorgeous.

The other ladies have talked about Solar's workouts. Solar has said she doesn't workout because she enjoys it, but, because, she has a back problem, and, her workouts are to prevent problems associated with that. The pole work is one of the routines she's incorporated into her workouts.

I think it's very cool that you took a moment to appreciate the car in the MV! It's a 1958 Buick Roadmaster. The style is very distinctive and they only looked exactly like that for 1958. And here's another fun fact: Egotistic is not the only MV that this car appears in. If you keep your eyes peeled you'll find it showing up in some other artist's videos as well.

Solar and that pole, she actually started using one as rehab for a damaged disk in her back but then added it to this video and does it on live performances in the past. There is a cover of Despacito she does with that pole and you can see her belt from the thing. Wheein and Moonbyul dropped new albums a couple months ago but Solar has dropped a new album Today and the MV for the first song But I is insane, if you want to see Ballad piano playing solar and Rocker solar in the same song. It is a great song and video.

Wheein actually has several real tattoos (two of her tattoos match two of Hwasa's tattoos because they are besties) but we found out that the piece of art displayed on Wheein's left shoulder in this MV was fake. It really is an awesome piece of art so I was a little bit sad to find out it was fake. If I could, I would get that design as a real tattoo.

Must be a coincidence but mamamoo , solar just released her solo comeback called “but i”. Less than 24 hours ago lol
Total coincidence, we had no idea. LOL
On one of the live radio broadcasts, the Lady DJ does a weird dance whilst Mamamoo perform this song. Wheein cannot control herself with laughter, but still manages to perform the song fine.
When the group came out initially, a lot of the Koreans said that Hwasa was ugly. Over the years this has been forgotten about.
Both Wheein and Hwasa had a video posted on CZcams when they were 13 years old. They stated at the time that they were fans of 2NE1.

Solar Just releast a New Solo Mini Album "Colours"... TODAY April 30th
They just finished a world tour last year... MAMAMOO(in 2023) joined the ranks of Destiny's Child, The Spice Girls, and TLC as the ONLY girl groups to sell over 70,000 tickets on their FIRST tour in the USA.
This makes MAMAMOO the ONLY girl group to achieve this milestone AFTER a 21-year gap.
AND the ONLY Non-English speaking girl group to accomplish such a feat.
Lisa(BlackPink) got the idea for pole dancing from Solar, after seeing Solar(Mamamoo) on the pole at an Award show.
Nice...good to see them so popular. They deserve that and more.

Considering the humble nature by which we have all come to love Coach, I would have been very surprised if Coach wasn't Mrs. Coach's number 1 priority.

For me, Hwasa is the sexiest woman in K-pop. When she turns it on, that look she gives is, well... You're correct that Mamamoo will be a standard for a long time, but the group that set the standard for them is Big Mama, who I keep mentioning (hint, hint, nag, nag). ;)
Coach doesn't know what egotistic is because he knows that he's far too great a person in every way to concern himself with the petty word games that the rabble engages in. ;)
