Mamamoo - 4 incredible women who refuse to be pigeonholed. I can't think of another group who move so effortlessly from one style to another. 30's Jazz - 60's retro - R&B - Rock - 80's pop - Comedy songs - Rap - Disco. They can do it all. Not to mention they are the absolute queens of the power ballad.

For something a bit different (but *very* Mamamoo) I recommend reacting to the famous 11-minute video of Mamamoo playing in the car. Itâs a combination of total silliness and immense flex. Itâs episode 6 of the first season of MMMTV. The version on the official Mamamoo channel has English subtitles.
I can proudly say, their ballad songs make you so emotional. âI miss youâ was so meaningful. You would like their ballad songs, R&B songs, or other powerful songs. Theyâre so talented soloists too. I mean, their songs /+210 songs/ are just amazing. Whatever song chooses will be awesome.
My favourite tone and voice is wheein. I definitely see why people are drawn to each person because they really are all so different and thatâs the beauty of it. There isnât one that just stands out because they all do in their own ways. I love it.

Iâm so glad you two had fun listening to their songs, they are so incredible. I absolutely loved the fact that Britany had to write a note to register her love for I Miss You đ Sheâs gonna love the full version they did live even more. And I bet sheâd also like Where Are You Now. It was recent-ish release and seriously I get goosebumps every single time I hear it, itâs so beautiful!
Mamamoo baffles me. They each have the vocal power and talented to stand out on their own and be successful at it, but after years and years they still choose to be together. Yeah, sure, they have their own solos, but theyâre still a group. The fact that we get to hear these 4 amazing voices together is mind blowing. If there is a heaven somewhere, I want their harmonies to welcome me to it.
Just a fun note for you in case it hasn't been mentioned: Dingga Dingga is about covid and just wanting to go out with your friends, but you can't. If you pay close attention to the lyrics, they're all pandemic/quarantine-related. Lack of Vitamin D from going out, summer flying by, delivery fees from ordering food, just wanting to go and drink with your friends...etc. Catch the references in the MV when you watch! lol
My favourite is Where are we now, itâs a ballad along the line of I Miss You and the mv is beautiful.

I've watched this video like 45 times I kid you not they are everything to me đ© The crazy powerful vocals, belted high notes, and beautiful harmonies is exactly what I love, and the fact that they can easily pull all of that off live just makes me love them even more!!! I have like all of their songs on my playlist lol. Hwasa's raspy tone, Solar's clean and clear high notes and Wheein's breathy voice with Moonbyul's deep rap- omg I love these girls so much and I'm glad you guys are loving them too!!!! đ„°

Mamamoo gets a lot of flack from other fandoms, they get the haters because of their abilities. Others just donât want them to succeed because they know they have that special something that could take them to the top. They do various genres and are great dancers. I wish their company would promote them overseas more, and let everyone see that all Kpop girl groups arenât girlie and trying too hard to have a sexy image. These women are well rounded and have their own style. They are unique in the girl group kpop industry.
I love egotistical and Aya for the videos but anything live is great.

A good term for hwasaâs tone I hear a lot is âhuskyâ in a sexy way and Iâm here for it. Moon star with the lower register is so AMAZINg, wheein with her slightly angelic airy voice and solar with her very stable voice. Love love all of them all so talented . Wonderful video đ

I get what you mean about Gogobebe, but I definitely recommend listening to the whole thing. Such a fun song! Personally gives me the same happy fun vibe as Dingga.

After watching the mvs if you want to check out a guide I recommend you "The MAMAMOO Introduction Guide of 2022" a two part guide made by MOO YT. There's another one that's pretty popular among moomoos but it is outdated
"The jazzy one" was Mr. Ambiguous. If you watch it (I know it did not end up on your short list) make sure you watch it on MAMAMOO channel; you _will_ want the subtitles. This is generally so with their music - very often another channel pops up sooner, like 1theK, and sometimes they won't have the subtitles. Anything you can watch on MAMAMOO channel, watch it there. I know of only one song that doesn't have subtitles on their channel, and it is untranslateable anyway. :P
Also, other Killing Voices are also mindblowing. Especially Taeyeon. Based on which songs you liked here, I am 100% convinced you would love Taeyeon.

I think Hwasa was sick during this recording, which I think makes her performance even more impressive. I mean, the whole performance was impressive. They all sounded amazing.
Is it possible the word you were looking for to describe hwasa's voice was sultry? That's what came to mind for me. She has that deep low voice that's like a seducing whisper at times.
I think my favorite title track of theirs is DĂ©calcomanie, even to this day. Egotistic is a close second.
If I remember right, I think Dingga was released during the pandemic? It was a pre-release single for the album Aya is on. I think you would love the MV. It's really bright and fun.

They've done so many styles and genres over the years and everything seems to work because they put a lot of effort, passion and talent into it. So you cannot put them into one genre - they are their own genre because when you hear a mamamoo song you know it's a mamamoo song.
Dinnga is my fav! highly recommend! it was written about quarantine, halfway through 2020. They talk about how lonely they are in their homes and how they wish they could go out with their friends.

Im late!! There is no video for I Miss You but I recommend Where are we now or Paint me mv if brittany wants to here similar vocals in mv form. I love these girls so much I always want to recommend everything. I knew anitra would gravitate towards windflower just because it is fun and Aya. Mamamoo's mv especially the older ones are always interesting sometimes even funny. So i will be excited when you get to see that in the future.. so glad you enjoyed

Love the reaction! Just as an aside on AYA. It's hard to get on first listen but that whole refrain from the first verse is a genius pile on of metaphors. The line, "You got me jumping like a crazy clown" could be taken literally and kind of doesn't make sense with the next line, "What are you doing, A rotten tooth needs to be pulled out AYA (ouch)" until you realize how Wheein sings the word "clown" like it's "crown" as in a crown of a bad tooth. This happens a lot in Korean songwriting where they play with different meanings of words based upon their pronunciation. Just thought it was really interesting tidbit to throw in here. đ
Oh also, if y'all react to AYA's MV, you gotta do their performance of it and DINGGA at the MAMA Awards 2020. The performance itself is super dramatic and epic.

The "Killing Voice" channel is a channel where famous Korean singers sing live. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you to watch "Big Mama" "Sung Si Kyung" "MeloMance" "Ailee" "Seventeen" videos. Of course, if you listen to other singers, you'll probably like it.

You should really check out their dance practices, cause that's a whole new world! I recommend Dingga and Hip for their fun sides and Aya for a serious dance practice. Also I prefer the ones not under 1Million Dance Studio, the ones in their own practice room are more fun đ
