For the first time after 9 years Mamamoo is touring the US (May and June). If they are coming anywhere near you, you should grab the chance to see them live. Tickets are still available.

I managed to get second row center tickets for the Fort Worth show. Best concert I have ever seen. These ladies are amazing live. Everything about them rocks.
Mamamoo members from left to right. Moonbyul (rapper), Solar (leader and vocalist), Wheein (vocalist), Hwasa (maknae and vocalist). All four members can rap, sing, dance, choreograph, write and play at least one instrument.
And remember that early on, Hwasa was also a rapper. She can still rap, it's just that her vocals are different so she can SING too.
Since the company basically forced the Rapper role onto MoonByul (just because she can hit that low register), Hwasa has not done too much.
I like that each of them are so wide in range, they can do it all which is why they are called The Vocal Queens.
the big belter, Solar, started rapping a little bit with her Honey solo project.
And then, well, we have The Ace Of K-Pop, Wheein. She's just...all over the place. She can literally do anything she puts her mind to. Natural Genius all the way around.

Mamamoo never disappoint. For a true live performance you should watch their Immortal Songs Medley which they performed during one of their first concerts.
Yessss!!! Dingo Music created this show specifically with the purpose of getting Mamamoo on it. Mamamoo is the pinnacle of performance! Please do the Immortal Song Medley!! It's incredible.
As you can tell Mamamoo live is on another level but as great as this medley is, it's just a sample of their material and what they can do with their voices. Rapper Moonbyul is also an excellent singer and last year she won a landslide victory in a competition tv show to determine the best singer among 8 really talented girl group rappers. Leader Solar (2nd from left) is known as a powerhouse belter but she's the one who brings me to tears when she or the group does a ballad. I swear her voice is hard wired to her enormous heart and generous, pure spirit. Wheein (3rd from left) is the vocal backbone of the group and her airy soulfulness and bittersweet honey timbre is perfect for r&b. Maknae Hwasa (on the right) had a cold that day and was a bit more nasal than usual but she used her voice du jour to great effect. I always say that as singers Mamamoo are method actors and Hwasa's performance that day is a good example. Her sexy, sultry voice is meant for jazz and r&b and I'd love to hear her do a set of standards and original songs in a jazz club with a piano trio or small band. They're a 4X4 team of best friends and vocal all stars and each member has a successful solo career on the side.

Ditto to Marin Schafer's comment - go see MMM on their upcoming US tour. After 9 years they're finally touring outside of Asia and there's no guarantee they'll be back. If you want to see some concert footage as further motivation watch the Immortal Songs Medley from 2017 as DJVILLAN suggested (a medley of covers they performed on the Immortal Songs 2 singing competition tv show) and for a good time watch one of their 4+ hour long 4 Seasons F/W concerts in 2019. Both include a live band and both videos are pro quality.

And she keeps surprising us! Since she presents herself as a singer who does the rap parts for Mamamoo (placed in that position by their company), being teamed up alongside three great singers, having to learn how to rap, writting her parts and eventually finding her own flow, she kept working on her voice and for a couple of years now she has been releasing more vocally challenging music as a solo artist. She is now able to give more powerful performances and emotional ballads, that she always wanted to do in the past.

Yesss other than their amazing talent but they're so fun too!! Also you have to check out their solo projects - in their recent concerts each member sang one of the other member's solos and it was amazing 😭😭😭 catch them in concert in the US if you can!!
Also fun fact: moonbyul (the rapper) is the most credited female artist with the Korean music copyright association!
To be fair, Moonbyul is currently the most credited female idol on KOMCA at 115 credits, while Yoon Mirae is the most credited female artist at 139 credits. :D
Interesting fact, Moonbyul has mentioned multiple times that she'd like to collab/invite Yoon Mirae to sing with her, and has sort of written a song (that is raunchier/ more 19+ than Shutdown) with Yoon Mirae in mind already.

MAMA MAMA MAMAMOO!!!! Four superstars collectively as Mamamoo and individually as each has their own very successful solo career. Their discography has over 300 titles and varies between Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Classical and Traditional Korean music. Mamamoo has gained the respect and admiration form the entire KPOP universe, all generations bow from the waist to Mamamoo. A more recent live video comes from the Hwasa Show (Hwasa is the one on the right) Look up Hwasa Show Mamamoo Live Collection from about a month ago. On the show the group was live with a live band as well. They did the full version of their newest song 1llella and a full version of their ballad Paint Me which is an older song and just as good as I Miss You as you saw on this video. In between they did a medley of other songs including each member doing one of their solos, yes they all have solo albums. Also new is mamamoo+ which is the sub unit of Moonbyul(rapper, though she sings too) and Solar (my personal bias and the power belter you saw). GGBB, Chico Malo and LLL are the videos to look for. 1llella is on their group mini album along with the songs 1.2.3. EOI and L I E C all of these songs are extremely good. They have something like 300 songs or more. They release 20+ songs every year for the last few years especially with Albums, Solos, Collabs, Covers and Promotions, in fact one of the best examples of their talent is them singing a Pikachu song live. Pick anything, it is all good, live is always better but their MVs are also good to watch especially the funny ones.
As an update, as of Dec 2022, MAMAMOO has more than 400 songs because they added more than 50 songs in year 2022. 🤣🤣❤🔥
I love you guys emphasized how much fun they are having singing and how passionate they are. They have fun so we have fun as audience. I guess it helps that the ladies are very much involved in the music they put out and they are like real sisters who overcame such difficult times to be where they are right now. Just so you know, they dress themselves here so you can kinda have a peak of their unique fashion styles. Their solo albums all have different vibes, but they can create magic when they come together.
Agreed. RBW would not exist if they did not have Mamamoo, this group carried that company for YEARS. They did busking, they performed at college campus ceremonies, and all that stuff. They scraped by and worked HARD to get where they are. Gotta love them.
Mamamoo is the best vocal group on earth. You will literally never hear vocals like these ladies do. They have been KILLING it for years now. But on the other side of the planet is where they are huge stars. Watch some live stage performances from them and you will see what all of the hype is about. Oh and they do music videos and comedy shows too. And They do have regular radio shows,... but it is in Korean language. Watch the CZcamss on them.

YESSSSSSSSS. I cannot stress enough how talented, absolutely hilarious, and georgous these women are. Their stage presence is AMAZING. Hwasa was sick that day and was feeling down so her voice did not sound like it usually does but she still pushed through.

I'm belling😅 for sure, not only because you like Mamamoo, that's not surprising, but I love seeing musicians reacting and talking about music, and it's good to hear opinions from people who actually knows something about this art form. I won't recommend many Mamamoo vids, because I would be here all day, they have more than 200 songs if we count their solos too, but if you want to see how they evolved over the years, the best way to do that is watching their "Immortal Songs 2" performances, there are 14 videos, the first was 6 months after their debut in 2015, the last performance as a group on the show was in 2019. If you ever want to do that, I recommend using Patreon only or pause the vids a LOT, because YT will give you hell.😅 Leggo, Metalheads!🤘

My thoughts on their outfits: Moonbyul (rapper on the left) raided her grandmother's closet; Hwasa (raspy tone) came from working out at the gym; Solar (belter) is the only one who thought to dress up; Wheein (high, honey voice) asked the manager for his jacket and wrapped a belt around it.
Septa, with your beautiful voice I could just see you up there singing along side them💜They are honestly so extra and have such fun together (like a female version of BTS - 4 sisters)
Hwasa (the one furthest right) is my girl crush - I absolutely adore her and her voice - she has such sass and swag - a true Queen inside and out.
Unfortunately her debut was fraught with cruel comments from netizens telling her that “MAMAMOO would be a pretty girl group if it wasn’t for Hwasa”. Many demanded that she should leave the group. Her response: "If I don't fit today's beauty standards, I'll set my own standards and become a new, different standard"

They are from the same debut time as BTS (a little bit late), but they have very same background, from small company, struggled at the beginning cause no TV want to promote them. They had to go on street and perform in a lot of commercial event
you guys should definitely check out Seventeen's killing voice..They have some of the strongest vocalists in kpop they're also known as the "kings of synchronization" for their crazy choreos but insane harmony
