CPD Video Series Presents: Working the Midnight Shift in Englewood.
When the majority of the population is at home sleeping they do not think of the men and women in blue who are out patrolling the streets of Chicago . This video is a short video displaying Officers in the Englewood Community on Patrol.
Officer's on the midnight shift handle a variety of assignments from Domestic disturbances, DUI's to missing persons. They are limited in their interactions with the general public because they are sleeping. Police Officers who work midnights do not have the same luxuries as other officers who work other shifts: Restaurants are not open for officers to get a meal, they are limited to fastfood, 24 hour donut shops and convience stores. They are not home with their families while they are sleeping and they are like vampires because they sleep during the day. This video shows a typical day on the midnight shift.
