    It took me a couple weeks to decide between this or the Viper Black Metal 7 string baritone. I went with with the black metal. It's just so damn sexy, and the black winter is disgustingly brutal. Thing chugs harder than all of my emg and fishman pickup guitars. Lol 🤘

    Used to own a ‘06 Made in Korea LTD Viper 400. It had 3 piece mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and 24,75’ scale. It was a fabulous guitar, no issues whatsoever. I will always regret selling it, newer ones are not of the same quality.

    In my experience (admittedly only with a Michael Kelly Patriot Baritone at 27.7" scale) drop G with baritone light strings is just insane. I was also rocking a dimarzio crunchlab installed backwards and it had insane pick attack and clarity.

    @peehandshihtzu Před 3 lety +3

    I have an EC 401b and they can really use locking tuners, the Matte finish looks great but with any amount of playing these models go from mint to used in a hurry. I love EMG's but not with bari's. Don't worry about the neck joint because with low tunings you won't want to use those high notes because the action will be to high as a result of the limitations of the tune o'matic style bridge. The bridge is not really adequate for these type of models because the stop needs adjusted up so high to avoid the strings breaking across the bridge, tuning becomes unstable as a result. I over under mine to get a less aggressive rake. Before I owned this one I owned the model in the video, same same. The binding is super nice and the details are fantastic, great wall hangers. If your really into bari's go longer, with locking tuners and different bridge with passive pickups. Also consider the case is expensive and cheap and instrument specific, these often don't fit right in the standard cases in the same way the Bucket Head LP doesn't fit the standard form fit case. All in all these things make great first impressions because of their well done paint and binding but in the long run will leave you a bit flat after the new wears off and like I said very little playing will do just that. Just my opinion after owning both models for a number of years, I still would give these four stars for their attention to detail but the actually design concerning practical function lacks. I would still love to try their 7 string tele model. None of what I said is a deal breaker just things to be aware of. I love this guys videos and honestly appreciate his more experienced take on these. :)

    Had to watch your intro a few times, bro. It's like down tuned pantera vibes, then some heavy earth crisis shit, then pretty chordy shit then back to pantera shit, then back to the hardcore hatebreed/earth crisis shit and, fuck dude. That is a fucking awesome song to my ears. Idk, or care if it's the guitar, the rig, or whatevers. That was some killer writing. The guitar seems great for the price, but I'm not big on SG shapes. Also, nice shirt.

    The only thing I never liked about the Viper (and all SG shaped guitars) is the fact that all of them are neck heavy. The guitars don’t balance well and are fatiguing to play for an extended time. You spend a lot of time trying to hold the guitar up.

    • @dangolguitartech
      @dangolguitartech Před 3 lety +1

      If it’s worth anything to you, the Viper has never been neck heavy in my experiences. I have owned several and they are balanced out just fine. Really great guitars.

    • @dangolguitartech
      @dangolguitartech Před 3 lety +1

    • @leroyjenkins4811
      @leroyjenkins4811 Před 3 lety +1

      I’ve owned two Vipers. I’m a Matt Devries fan. He played with Chimaera. Each time, same thing. They didn’t balance well when I played them standing up. Sitting down, they were great. I tried everything. I moved the strap buttons around. Nothing ever worked. Maybe the ones you had were made of a heavier body wood. IDK... Mine never worked out right so I sold them. They sounded great though.

    • @herrcobra4144
      @herrcobra4144 Před 3 lety

      That's really not what it's made for.
      The purpose of these is mostly for being able to reach very low tunings like B or A without having to put huge strings on the guitar. If you are going to play guitar like this in drop D you would need smallest strings than you would for a shorter scale guitar.
