its bunch of crap who ever passed that law needs to be removed from office asap, that will mess up lots of people, coast people there lively hoods , make thing way more expensive, create other issues. its going to be a mess.
Its not repprted correctly. Theses trucks and trailers with cargo is crossing the 26,001lbs mark. Possibly loaded around it also. Airbrake trucks will require a CDL like the one they shown. A regular 1 ton with a 40ft 5th wheel below 26,000 is class C RV over it requires a Recreational cdl meaning no medical card. Farmers are exempt from the law within certain ranges of home farm. But not cross state lines.
I’ve been dealing with this BS for years. Most of these equine rigs are just as big as my truck and trailer. Don’t agree with any of the log book rules but what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Government needs to focus more on proper driver training. That’s what gets people killed. Any trucker knows it’s not about safety it’s about revenue
Having driven trucks for traveling ride shows (read:county fairs)..I see a bunch of my fellows falling prey to these new laws. Not only do we haul rides...but workers haul living trailers and the shows usually have a bunkhouse trailer or 2. These new laws mean shows are gonna need alot more CDL types. Underthe old laws the bunkhouse and workers living trailers didn't need a CDL ...I agree with alot of other commenters here....it just another way to suck money out of your pocket and be able NOT have to call it taxes
Only in state. What about those of us traveling over state lines? This is where it starts getting dangerous. There are not enough layover options across the country. If laws start to push people onto these private layover farms, it's going to continue growing the disease issue, but there's just not enough spots when large groups of people start travelling to the same locations for regional and national shows.
Michael Pipkin As a real truck and trailer driver hauling all over the us... I'd like to keep my life. To many people are buying the dam things and drive around in them like their hauling ass in a car. They have no clue how to safely drive them.
That's not the issue. It's the layovers. You can't stop with livestock in the trailer. They will die if you sit still. There aren't enough layover locations to support the equestrian industry running on the log books.
@@offroadspecialties7383 livestock wont simply die. Theres an increased risk they will. Horses require air moving ortherwise they suffer heat strokes. Cattle and pigs can go hours simply sitting in a yard on a trailer. Many times have i left cattle on trailers for 7 hours without issue infront of my house for the auction next day.
It’s all about safety. As a Class A CDL driver, I’ve seen people pulling big trailers and not knowing what they are doing and creating a road hazard. This includes the self-movers as well. You cannot take for granted pulling a trailer. Also driving fatigues is more dangerous than driving drunk. It’s a good idea and I support it.
Listen, when they start forcing ARABS & MEXICANS & CANADIANS to have a CDL then maybe Americans will get them. BUT I THINK WE SHOULD ALL FIGHT THIS. As an ex trucker, I had 2 ARABS ask me to back their trailers into the docks because they tried and couldn't. If you can't back it up, and damn sure don't have a CDL to drive it. PISSED in INDIANA
The rancher is full of shit. All you need to do is get team drivers to keep the wheels moving. Much more preferable than one sleepy dude driving straight through the day & night, risking the livestock, his life, and the other motorists' lives around him.
So what about these big ass motor homes the size of a Greyhound bus and some has trailers behind them
You get the government you deserve. People keep sitting back and letting the government take more and more rights away.
It's all about the money and control.
Mostly money
I ain’t getting shit and I’ll tow what I want
its bunch of crap who ever passed that law needs to be removed from office asap, that will mess up lots of people, coast people there lively hoods , make thing way more expensive, create other issues. its going to be a mess.
It’s the demacomies
Politician need to leave people alone that Carrie livestock and let them do their job Of driving
I have a little popup, definitely on the small side as trailer go.(believe there's only size smaller than mine) Should I be concerned about this?

The problem is as a tow truck driver I still need a CDL no biggie but I can run unlimited no eld is required
Youre not OTR. These guys go cross country while you fall under emergency services. Just without a badge.
If we all Stand together could be changed.

Diffrence is that they're better drivers than most truckers.
Are they gonna say that about Regular vehicles 2 you need a cdl That you can't drive 24 hours to

Good ive seen way too many wrecks as a truck driver with cdl.
Some rich politicians brother just bought a trucking company is and trying to thin out the competition.
You can give someone a gift of money gifting somebody up to 15,000 dollars and you do not have to pay taxes.
Agriculture is exempt it's a federal exemption

You will also a medical card.
It's been the law for years
@George Hathcoat yes and no. Over a certain distance from home farm and not crossing state lines.
this is so lame every American that lets the government do this to them keep believing in the government dont stand for it fight the bull shit
All about money
Bout time. Now for those extremely large motor homes and trailers ppl travel in.

I dont. Having pulled trailer for years, ive come across more semi drivers unsafe then me. Worst part, they have a CDL and i do not.

There's not enough money to pay two drivers, ranchers hires bull haulers.
Yogui 1028 The way he's talking about the value of his livestock, there is plenty of money. And it's less expensive in the long run.
You're an idiot if you think people can just afford to hire drivers.
get a big boy job
You mean just like the dead end job you have
Go to school. Learn the job. Just dont get in a tractor and think you know it all.
