I often think that, although your smart system is brilliant, your philosophy of efficiency is a true hallmark of your channel.
I certainly have adopted it in my work life; not only is it a saver, it’s a blast discovering a new, more efficient way of doing something you’ve been doing the same way for years. Sort of a Eureka moment!
Your videos never get old Ron, thanks a lot!
Agreed Kevin! Most successful contractors have leaned into efficient workflow but Ron has taken this ethos to another level. I am continually inspired by his attention to detail and his ability to analyze and improve upon his workflow. I try to carve out segments of my work days to do the same now.
Wow, thank you!
Love those power locks - never seen them before!
Now this was a great video!
Nice camera setup and usage! 😉
That’s exactly where I put mine
Great video Ron. Very useful tip on first, having a system to the organization and workflow, and secondly, how flexible a system can be to improve workflow on the fly or in a more permanent adjustment. I will remember this when I am building out my future 8x12 trailer and get the additional countertop space my 6x10 sSMART doesn't have! As always....thanks!
Absolutely!
Hey Ron I’ve see you mount the standard style face vice to your smart bench. Have you thought about trying to build a Scandinavian style shoulder vice which could bolt on to the side. It’d have some advantages over the face style vice you’ve used.
I will have to look into that. I don't even know what they are.
@@TheSmartWoodshop czcams.com/video/37x8LcAkRas/video.html they're generally popularised by hand tool woodworkers but I can see that they'd have a couple of advantages over a traditional face vice. I figured one could be made in a such a way that it'd attach to the end of the bench and clamp against the long face. Hope this gives you some useful ideas keep up the good work dude.
Ha! I do the same with my metal vise, 10” disc sander, and a few other lesser used tools.
😎🤙
How deep are your bins?
Thanks!
Dave, thank you. Ron😎🤙
What is that metal thing attached to your Festool battery while it's charging?

I wonder if you should have an oversized scrap of vinyl flooring or hard rubber Matt with 4 holes to match the Power Loc Connectors between the bench vise base and bench top to contain metal filings, cutting oil or grinder sparks etc. My old shop teacher will blow all his fuses and unsubscribe for sure if he witnesses you cut or file metal on a woodworking bench.
The Garrett Wade Ultimate Versatile Vise might be light enough for your purposes. That said, I like a heavier than you want to carry Wilton vise.
😎🤙
#classic (4:47) open drawer, drop ball driver in open spot, close drawer, problem solved #toofunny Keep up the great work Ron!
Thanks 👍
How are your steel tools holding out in that humid Florida air? You're definitely not in Cali any more!
Never been in Cali other than Vaca!😂
