She is not such a great lady. She is a double faced person-very presentable and erudite when on stage or on film- but very arrogant and throwing tantrums on minor issues in real life. She comes across as spoilt and entitled. She appears to have none of the greatness of her parents. I have had the opportunity (or misfortune) of spending some time with her backstage during her Kaifi Azmi tour in the US in 2015. Her spouse on the other hand Javed Akhtar is a pure pleasure to be around-totally grounded, witty and humble.

Interesting interview. I respect Shabana Azmi for speaking her mind. It also reflects a sense of protectionism towards India. It was obvious that the interviewee wanted some controversial scores by asking about PM Modi and his leadership, but sadly, Shabanaji crushed her hope.
