The home behind me was vacant for a year and I got tired of seeing the grass look like a redwood forest. I then took it upon myself to mow it but did not know that some latinos had purchased the home just not yet moved in. They came in and caught me mowing it one day and ran over asked me what the heck I was doing and I explained to them I was helping them out. They then painted my home for free and started bringing me home cooked meals LOL.
The owner came over and said his painter crew was joking about how its the gringo that was mowing the hispanics lawn but we have become very good family friends LOL

I did this to a house on my street that had an issue with the new owners being delayed in moving in (I learned that later as I told him I mowed his yard when I met him). I had a neighbor that lived across the street from me a couple of years ago at a house I was renting with my family when we were between selling a house and buying a new one. I noticed that he was going through a pretty tough time with what appeared to be a divorce or separation and listing the house for sale. He would come home just about everyday with a case of beer and head inside for the night. I think he was kind of depressed or just didn't care anymore because he had let his yard go. The neighborhood had an HOA too, so they were pretty hard on people not keeping up with their yards. I would go home at lunch and mow the yard over a couple days and his yard was so small I would just knock it our for him.

I worked in lawn care and aerated lawns one time i aerated an entire front and back yard while there was 2 contractors working on a patio and the owner of the house showed up about mid way. It looks greener and healthier than the ones on either side, because it has a strong deep root system with long blades to produce nutrients that have not been damaged by lawnmower blades. Also, the two on either side are cut to short, to often and guess what they turned brown.
Thanks for watching!
I know a few guys who would say otherwise about mowing low. You must not like walking on your lawn either. Lol
@@abramg11 Yes, I like walking in a nice green soft yard not an ugly brown hard crunchy yard. The one he mowed was able to grow and produce longer roots and become healthier than the two others. 99% of the time grass is cut way to short and/or to often, in turn the grass is in shock and dies. Do you like green or brown grass?
Y YIII, I’ve cut my grass tall before and it always ends up yellowing/ browning and burning out and feels like you’re stepping on tree branches because tall grass has bigger stalks.. This year I’ve mowed low all year and the lawn is still green and thicker than it’s ever been. I’ll keep mowing low and you keep poking your feet with grass bud! Oh also it’s a proven fact that when you consistently cut short your grass develops a stronger root system than mowing high. Mowing low also helps keeps the weeds out.
@@abramg11 thats not exactly true. Although mow height is dictated by grass species. Warm season likes to be shorter, cool season likes to be taller. 2 common examples is Bermuda can thrive at 1-2 inches and fescue likes 31/2 to 4.

This past summer I had to mow the lawn for the house I lived in with a really shoddy gutless mower. The grass was beyond over grown, it was a nightmare. The lawn itself wasn't very big but it took me twice as long because the mower kept bogging down from the thick, lush, green, wet Alaskan grass. It started off as me just trying to do something nice for the house and put down a couple in the process but man did turn into a job i'd pay someone else to deal with. Literally every push forward it would bog down, every other push the engine would die, and about every couple of yards i'd hit a nest of mosquitoes and get eaten alive. To make matters worse it had a bag on it but it wouldn't fill. I checked everything, and she just kept flinging cut grass all over the sidewalk and driveway.

It is very worrying the direction some laws are taking, honestly. Laws that are technically made for the bad guys end up being applied in situations like this on a daily basis just to get some quick bucks to run the police departments and increase the stats.
It’s a effed up world we live in.
I’m 16 and I used to do this and boy was it really hot I only had a lawn mower and a weed whacker and a blower and it sucked because some people had rocks and it was really hot but they paid well and I get most my tips from watching your video lol
If that was my house or even if I were the Realtor, I would definitely appreciate someone like you moving the lawn. I have mowed someone else's lawn, my next-door neighbor's house and I felt the same way you did, (get it done before someone sees me, lol). Great Job!
Mad props you understand youtubes viral trends, marketing, video editing, AND working a job you seem to love. The American dream man
It's so sad how, in our society, someone has to be scared to do such a selfless and generous act of kindness such as yours (victimless as you called it) because it would be considered 'trespassing' to mow a lawn for a house that is on sale. We shouldn't have to be so afraid to want to help eachother out and or any living being on this planet! You should be able to mow that lawn for the hour (however long) it took you to mow it without being in fear that you may get noticed and get in trouble. I personally thank you, that was very sweet and selfless of you!♡
What if that person had a yard service and they were coming to cut tomorrow?
Well, the only problem is that in certain situations it isn't victimless. I would hope that in this case there weren't any downsides for the homeowner, and there probably weren't, but there is still a chance. The best way to go about something like this is to ask the person you're trying to help. An analogy: Unless you ask, you could be trying to help a toad by putting it in the water.
XD selfless, for a youtube video. I mean, its a win win, especially for them, but it isn't selfless haha
@Roman Oliveira Exactly.
It's okay guys, it is just grass and it will grow back incredibly fast. No one is going to get hurt by his lawn mowing actions. Some of your comments is exactly what I was saying people are afraid of when they shouldn't be, from the repercussions of societies norms, to think something as non-damaging and helpful as this has some kind of (or is 'supposed to' have some kind of) of negative reaction. I mean come on people! Thank you for proving my point to anyone who disagreed with my saying what he did was selfless and victimless. Relax, chill out. There are much more important things to worry about and or comment on than cutting four inches off of resilient and quick-growing grass in front of a house of which is uninhabited.
He makes many videos all of the time that all seem to be quite successful, so this video wouldn't have been missed if he decided not to help out and mow the lawn. Other than maybe soothing his "OCD" (so to say) by finally cutting one of these overgrown lawns, his actions were completely selfless, I believe.
-Anyways, have a wonderful day🙏🏼.
That grass looks so much better than the other 2 cut shorter. It looks healthier and that's crazy! Good video 📹 👍
I love cutting that type of grass it is satisfying the yards with patchy grass and bald spots I cannot fade them
I felt the sudden need to go and mow my lawn after this....im never watching another video of yours again 🤣🤣
XD Love it!
Suggestion for all those other peeps with mowers at home: Take half deck width passes when the grass is that long. Stops you from having to do the lift and re-mow action he was doing. Yes, it takes slightly longer but your mow will be cleaner, keeps the blade speed up for a cleaner grass blade cut, grass will be healthier.
Thanks for the feedback!
@[Redacted] Semi true. The HP and torque of electric motors is quickly starting to outperform gas motors. So this issue isn't really a problem.
Second, I learned the "half of a pass" technique while mowing with my gas mower.
The point of the technique is to save your grass. Faster blade speed = cleaner cuts. Clean cuts damage the grass less and doesn't leave clumps of grass behind.
[Redacted] With that much grass, the deck of a mulching mower will be filled so quickly that the mower doesn’t have a chance to chop the clippings and drop them back to the lawn. Better case scenario, it is hard to push the mower forward for have a huge clump under; worst case scenario, the gas motor stalls, or the electric motor overheats
@@Scott_C Very interesting, I never looked at it that way. Thanks for the info.
That 1st white lawnmower sounds so powerful! Wow!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍👍😘
I'm impressed with your attention to detail. Trimming and blowing the clippings off the drive when you didn't even have to cut the lawn in the first place.
Also I didn't know Hart made mowers.
Plot twist: The kids from Honey I Shrunk the Kids were in that lawn.
Were.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :'(
Doyle Lovil rest in pieces
Lmao
I like to think this is real-time and this guy really just moves that fast
Ha, I wish that were the case! :D
I thought to myself 'who would mow their verge grass and leave the small bits attached to the neighbors garden, then you said you had mowed the lawn next door and it all made sense'
Full kudos to you for this freebie to the owners of this house.
When the non mowed lawn looks better than the neighbors mowed lawn
“Overgrown” god I hope he never sees my garden....
Haha, don't worry, no judgement here! :D
Next video shows him trimming in a prison yard. Saying to himself why did I cut that yard for free.
LOL at least the warden trust me enough to cut the yard!
🤣🤣👌
So damm True!!!
Then you'd be able to do all the free grass mowing you want.
🤣
I want to thank you for doing that. I know if I was selling relastate I would be extremely grateful for someone taking the time to mow the lawn and make the house that I am selling look better. I am just a stay at home mom but I just wanted to say thank you.
Imagine you're trying to see how tall your grass could possibly get and some dude comes by and cuts it all down lmao
