- I saw this house and knew I had to knock on the door. But, as I was walking up, I got the feeling that it could be abandoned. I knocked anyway and there was no answer. I also peeked into the window and it was completely empty. When I find an abandoned home like this, I like to talk to the neighbors to get a little bit more backstory on it and make certain that it is vacant. So I knocked on the neighbor's door right across the street and she said it has been vacant for the entire time they have lived there (just about a year)! It hasn't been mowed in a really long time and was getting extremely overgrown. I went ahead and worked the entire day on getting it back into shape and looking good again for the neighbors.

So I'm curious... Can't you get a bagging attachment for lawns this bad? That's A LOT of dead grass & weeds left on the lawn.. Which we all know will turn to straw in a day or 2 and look shitty again after a that had work! Would you have a done anything if it weren't an abandoned property? I'm a senior and I live in a condo. I don't have a yard, but couldn't take care of it even if I wanted to. So I sit here and watch you do it. So strange because I find it so satisfying to see the yard getting a "make over." Great work that you do ... doing good works for humanity. Thank you.

If you think he does a lot of work for the mowing, just think about how much extra work he goes through to keep us entertained. Every time he changes the camera angle, he would have to stop what he was doing, go and move the camera, make sure it's getting the shot he wants. Mans a legend!
Edit: A lot of the replies to my comment are talking about how he does all of this for the money. Even if he does make a lot of money from the videos, it doesn't change the fact that he still puts a lot of time and effort into filming and editing.

Having done commercial and residential landscaping for around two decades, I recognize that was a massive job. You obviously have solid equipment which never hurts, but that's a fantastic amount effort for one person. And a really nice job!
Solid equipment is right. No weedwacker I've ever owned would have handled that much grass and not wrapped itself up.

I have to say, this is so satisfying to watch. My neighbor’s Parkinson’s progressed where he stopped doing his yard so I took care of it and the alleyway until new owners moved in. He was such a nice guy.

I was thinking the same thing. If I lived next to a house that looked like that I would just mow it myself when I did my own so it wouldn't bring the neighborhood down. Hopefully someone keeps up with it now that he did the heavy lifting.
@@sherrye8977 That old house has issues, including asbestos siding which might have to be removed/replaced/abated if it is in city code to do so. Probably no property taxes have been paid. The city should just take it and knock it down.
My thoughts exactly. Back when I lived in Texas, the house next door went to foreclosure and was empty for at least six months. I didn't want rodents, snakes, or insect issues...nevermind the unsightly appearance. So, I mowed the front yard every time I mowed my own and I mowed the backyard less, but never letting it get too high...once I got the city to go in and now it down the first time (I wasn't sure of the property status initially and didn't want to be inside a fenced backyard). Once the foreclosure was complete, I felt more comfortable. By mowing at least the front weekly, it kept it from drawing unwanted tresspassers that often break in and vandalize vacant property. And, as an owner in the neighborhood without an HOA, I wanted the home to sell quickly.
It's a great lot. Buy it. Tear it down and build a cute little house

I'm a retired landscaper and snow remover I helped my neighbors who had health issues and senior citizens I would cut their lawns free. I feel good lending a hand to my neighbors and helping where I can

I don't think you can say just a revamp. Many reasons why these homes just sit. Could be Grandma and Grandpa moved out and has chosen not to sell so it just falls apart. Or maybe many are just sitting on their homes. Where we live there are many homes like this and i am finding a lot of the time, the owners moved out of state and just don't want to do anything with their home and will pass it on to the kids.

I love watching you on here. I got done helping my daughter out on her property. She has over an acre. I am 74 years old and I help her do the mowing and trimming all around her tree's and blueberry bushes and flower beds and little house. I love doing it.

It's a nice sort of asmr; the hum of the equipment in the background, the nice crisp lines where it was once so unruly, the contrast from tame to wild... really sooths whatever part of my brain is in need of calming.

That's cool Spencer that the appreciative community encouraged you brother. Be blessed good buddy. It's great to see you soften and slope the hard surface edges. It makes a beautiful difference. Also along bed and island edges that meet the grass line, try a slope or slight angle there too. The curb appeal it produces with the cut tightened grass plus the slightly sloped bed edges is gorgeous. A clean black line is produced. Kinda like when we would use a black marker to border any drawings we would draw as youngsters. Tip: I have learned to hold the weedeater just so and walk backwards with it as I slope the bed edges that way it will sling the grass back into the grass and not into the flowers or pine/mulch beds. I can’t believe there are negative comments for this guy and his channel. I graduated college years ago and I’m seriously considering a possibility to do something like this. At the end of a work day, I would have a great feeling of accomplishment for making others happy, getting enough physical activity for my body, getting paid by CZcams, my work’s always appreciated… it would make my life a meaningful one…. What else can we ever ask for in this ‘dust to dust’ life journey?

And I agree with the comment below or above this, you shouldn't say something that makes no sense. Example: Mowing lawns are required in most states so well it will keep from break-ins from happening and from trees growing you wouldn't want in your yard, (people don't want trees so close to their house so as branch won't hit their house if one does break off) and tall grass as you see in the video could be full of snakes, spiders, nats, and other animals that is annoying and/or deadly (talking about poisonous snakes/spiders). There are places for nature to be nature, this is an urban neighborhood, "is the region surrounding a city." cities have laws unlike nature, there are only three rules for nature, don't be an idiot, don't start fires, and don't hunt if it's not in season. Leave people alone that help out people legally and sometimes do it just for the hell of it and are being friendly.
