You can tell they did not intend for this to be repaired by consumers, and so you have to basically rebuild their shit when it inevitably breaks.
And it will always break sooner or later, because the cleaning head is attached to the hose in such a way that when you try to use it, it is facing 90 degrees away from the floor, so you have to use quite a bit of force to twist the hose/cleaning head towards the floor every time you use it.
I've always felt like it was going to break sooner or later because of that.
I suppose this fix allows you to change that, so that it won't happen again?
Does this fix cause problems with storing the hose, because it is now too short?
Ideally it's always a good thing to replace with new part but sometimes new part is not available.so this video is to help people those can repair for themselves.My repaired hose is still good and doing the job ..

Replacing the hose with new is surely a good idea thing . But repairing properly with a proper glue does the job . I have used good glue and mine is still doing a good job and I use on regular basis.

What about if cut the opposite side of the pipe l?
This is actually a way to repair the damaged side .. I can't understand what you mean by opposite side . please precise.

In order to repair from the opposite side you may have to open and take out the hose from the side and then you will able to fix it because while you repairing the hose you need to turn round the hose also . It's only possible is the hose is fully free .
