I watched this video before doing a oil change on my mothers Polaris 570 ATV and i didnt like the oil filter where i had to reach in on the left side of the wheeler to get to it but at least DIY oil change saves you money

If changing the drain plug seal is required, why isn't it included in the "kit"?

Is the oil filer #2540086 and acceptable replacement for oil filter #2521424?

When the seat is removed I noticed there is a black cover/cap with a oil logo on it. Is it possible to add oil there instead of where the dip stick is?

Oil is oil it all comes from the same refineries! Companies just add their (special additives) i had a trx 450 i used castrol i wheeled on 5 th gear all day long at full rpm never had issue my brother same bike same year bought together and he did no high rpm he used honda oil and one day pushing it , it seased so even my snowblower has castrol and its only a 7.5 hp motor cheap and i dont even give it a chance and its doing fine and i think its all usually from delta oil companies that put the additional stuff for brands im sure oil is oil

This oil filter is located in a terrible position. Obviously Polaris needs to listen to its service personnel and not to engineers who typically place user serviceable items in impossible places. I cut my arm up to the point of bleeding every time I try to change the oil. Bad design.

It was made to match the horrible, middle-of-the-frame 12V battery location on the mid-20-teens 450s and 570s. Thank heavens at least they moved that to a decent location (under the front rack).

Thought I'd give a buddy of mine a hand changing his oil on "still the worthless atv Polaris continues to make" you would think after sooooooo many years you could pull your head out of your south end and design a better way to remove the filter...... nope.... stupid is stupid does....

I just tried to change the oil on my polaris 570 sport. First of all I had to go out and purchase allen socket wrench set. Then, after dumping the old oil, both my son and I tried to get the oil filter off. Really? What moron designed this? First, I don't have an oil filter wrench SMALL enough for this dinky filter. And, evn if I did, only a midget or an elf could get their tiny hand in this tiny space to get a wrench on it! Another example of something that is designed so that only a dealer, who you pay, can do the job. Dumbest design ever. So now, after dumping all the old oil, I can't change the filter. So, I guess I''ll just fill it up with new oil and run it on the old filter until I can find a tiny tot oil filter wrench..

@Orion6699 totally agree. I am 6'2" and have drawn lots of blood all over my tshirt just trying to get this filter off. Reminds me of how poorly designed my F250 is too!

Its fuckin more frustrating than dealin with the BMV! They probabaly design it that way so you have to take it to a dealer for even a fuckin oil change!
