80D is better, but for me T7i would do the job. love the dual pixel autofocus and the articulating touch screen. 80D has better shutterspeed, better for wildlife and action photography. Nice video bro.

The 80D is the only one where you can manually select a specific Kelvin temperature when setting the white balance, where as you will have to use a grey card to get the right white balance on the T7i and 77d. This is a crucial feature for anyone who has a hard time getting their white balance right, or at least it has been for me. I would definitely recommend going with the 80D for that reason.

Yooooo Thank You For Stating This!
That's one thing I absolutely love with my SL1 with Magic Lantern.
With the options M.L gives me on my SL1, it's hard to justify the price jump.
That Kelvin adjustment is so valuable to me, as it helps me match the actual colors I'm seeing.
I just wish M.L could make my Digic 5 as clean as a Digic 7.

T7i: Digic 7 - 5-Axis Image Stabilization, improved low-light performance and subject tracking. 80D: Void of those features and is heavier with a gimmicky screen and weather proofing I do not need. T7i for me, thanks!

Weather sealing is pointless on a camera like 80D because a weather sealed lens would cost nearly as much as another camera lmao

Great video. 80D is a waste of money. IQ (Image Quality) same BUT rendering is better on t7i because of the newer processor. Oh but is weather sealed, cheap zoom lenses aren't so If you're thinking to film on rainy day get an umbrella lol. Oh but it shoots 1/8000 can lower 1 stop of light. Big deal buy a $50 ND filter and you can step down more than 1 stop. 80D better on video? Why because it gives option of ALL-I. Top LCD screen is nice but also a gimmick. If you don't use the camera more than 5 times a week BUY T7I. I have a 6d been filming for few years. At times I've compared it with my back up t2i. If you ain't in the market for FF (Full Frame) than go for the most reasonable crop sensor. Don't waste your money for high end canon crops. Because after all THEY SHOOT FHD for crying out loud. Nothing against your video dude, your points are facts I'm just giving out an honest opinion to whomever want to save their money. I've made that mistake once I don't wish that on others because after all we work hard for that money. Happy filming (pictures in succession) people.

I understand the overall recommendation … Canon 80D over the T7i. In fact, my research last December 2019, isolated these two models & the Nikon D5600. I ended up choosing the T7i because of the beginner modes built in, and the bundled package of accessories discounted. It has practically all the functionality I need at this stage of my DSLR initial evolution. I will up-grade in the future … maybe in a year or two, but, when I do, it will be to a "full frame" camera, either DSLR or Mirrorless. That camera will be the end game for me, as I'm not a professional, but just enjoy the learning curve and challenge to consistently better my previously best. BTW, this was a straight forward review by Tbones Tech … thank you.

Can you do a video testing the AF between these 2 cameras? Since the T7i has a Digic 7 processor, I imagine that it would be faster at auto focusing compared to the 80D.
I'm still undecided on which camera I should get, the 80D or T7i. What I like about the 80D is that is has better build quality and 1/3 stops for ISO. I don't see myself needing the 1/8000 sec shutter speed or even weather sealing for that matter, but I guess they'd be nice to have for that rare occasion I need to capture fast, wet things... I would still need a weather sealed lens, right?
What I like about the T7i is that its Digic 7 processor is 14 times faster than Digic 6, it has the exact same sensor as the 80D, has the same 45-point autofocus, has digital 5-axis image stabilization for video, has bluetooth and it's cheaper. I don't really care about it having higher ISO than the 80D since shooting at ISO 25,600 would look pretty noisy anyway.
Had I been comparing the T6i to the 80D, then no question, I'd definitely go for the 80D, but the T7i seems to compete very well with the 80D. To me at least, it comes down to which camera is faster at auto focusing and there are currently no videos showing a test for that. Please do one!

I also do like wildlife and action photography so I am torn. Thanks for the comparisons, these are really helpful in trying to figure out which camera is for me

I guess I'm a little confused - I understand that the 80D is pro camera with more features, but other than weather-sealing and battery life, it seems like the t7i would be a better choicer because of the form factor being a lot smaller and a much lower price. Especially if you're a youtuber.

I really like the T7i but lean towards the 80D for some reason. I think the lighter weight of the T7i will win out and since I don't need this for video it is the more logical choice. Thanks so much for all the info!

I started with SLR photography just over a year ago with a Canon 100D(SL1) which I love. However I feel like I have already outgrown it in many ways and Something a bit more meaty like the T7i I think would be perfect for me to step up my photography game
