Yeah the SL2 is like purposefully made for people who don't need the flash and don't mind removing the tripod for card access.

The canon SL2 is such a dream, my heart needs it.
I love taking photos and film videos at local show performances that all my friends bands play at. It’s a lot of low light with occasional lights being flashed towards me. I’m having such a difficult time trying to find a good beginning camera that would work best for a situation like this.
Awesome video I would personally choose the Canon SL2 because it is smaller, lighter and less expensive. It is also for beginners.
They're both for beginners but the t7i is just a better for people who need the features the sl2 doesn't provide

I was told that, like the Canon SL1, the SL2 only had one center cross type auto focus point (the other 8 being non cross type).

Depends on what your shooting. I shoot mostly sports photography, so for me yes its worth the extra $200. M50 is a good alternative.
Should should put a low cut on your sound track. That will get rid of all that the noise..

Sl2 is the future the7i is the past much smaller way easier to carry around with you absolutely great camera without any doubt in my mind I am getting the SL 2 over the 7i

This is the international version of the Rebel T7i. This means that the warranty is not good in the USA. JustU.faith/Canon800D?B I bought the extended warranty with it and it was still cheaper then the US version. Look on youtube for reviews. This was a highly rated camera. This was an upgrade from my old EOS Rebel T5. The extra features are great.
Your videos have been so help in developing my photographing abilities. And you even helped me to follow my dream and go to school for photography. It's an escape from my every day life. The world looks completely different through the lense of a camera. Everything is perfect.
T7i is a good camera from Canon with a not so expensive price, nice AF points, processor. However, SL2 is one of the best camera for beginners as I hope I get it to be able to start my journey in photography and videography. Thanks for your useful videos!! Keep doing the good work!!

Wonder why nobody mentions that the t7i has in camera stablilization but the sl2 doesn’t. That’s a big difference I haven’t seen mentioned in any comparison videos
Which Camera would one recommend for travel vlogging and travel photography? My old travel camera was made for wear and tear and i suffered with image quality, which has brought me to these two cameras.
Nice video. Came across your channel when I was doing some Cam research... I bought my first DSLR and I was tempted to wait for the release of the 200D (SL2). I ended up getting the 800D (T7i). Although i plan to use the cam mainly for video I like the idea of having more focus points which will be more forgiving as a beginner when i take photos.

Nine months ago I bought my first DSLR after your review of the T6 and during that period, photography has gone from a hobby to a passion and now I shoot full manual, an accomplishment I thought almost impossible at the beginning. I have to say that I would really like to win this giveaway which would give me more tools to keep creating new content, mostly videos. I would love to get such a lens too!
As for sending the RAW to the smarphone: actually on the wifi manual for the SL2 it's written that you can but the raw file gets converted to jpeg first. So you do have the picture on your phone, but in jpeg. Same for the 800D.

I'm in my senior year in high school and I might take a business course in college because of my parents but my heart really wants me to pursue film or photography, the only thing that's stopping me is that I don't have any gear. Why would you take a course in university that you don’t want to take only to make your parents happy? I feel bad for people who feel the need to constantly make their parents happy, it’s YOUR life, not theirs, you only have one life and it’s too short to only care about what your parents think. Lead the life you want to lead, it’s not your parents life.

SL2 is a major leap forward in this Version. Good comparison liking it as a good simple travel camera.
The SL2 is such a great compact camera with a lot of features for it's price. I'd love to get one!
What I like about these cameras is that they are PACKED with features for a price that the average person can afford. I've used Cannon Rebels for a while now and although there are some things I would love to have from a 5D or similar, they do a great job! I'd love to get my hands on one of those SL2's just saying ;) Great video!

Do you think that 200D would be good enough for amateur shooting of architecture and landscapes (I'm a 3D visualizer and I want to improve my photographic skills like composition etc. to improve the quality of my renders) and for HQ textures creation for my 3D scenes? I am not planning to use it for recording videos or capturing sport etc. just textures, architecture and landscapes. Would be very thankful for help!

Hi there, i recently got the canon sl2 but in England we call it the 200d. The flipout screen is really helpful for if you want to do video as you can get the framing perfect. The picture quality is really good for your needs as you can take pictures in RAW. If you have glasses there is this dial next to the viewfinder that changes yo fit your prescription . Hope you get to upgrade

The 200D/SL2 with a used 24mm and 40mm pancake lenses - great for gimbal work and as a low key video camera - when you don't want to have a large camera. I'm buying one just for tracking shots to compliment my Nikon D750.
You said the SL2 is the best DSLR for shooting vids intended for YT but later you said you'd rather go with the T7i. Do you feel the statement about the SL2 is still true?

I think the ultimate decider would be if you're gonna be shooting pictures as well as videos. The 45point auto focus is the deal breaker for me
