Thank you for checking out our Tae Tae! He is definitely a lover of jazz and r&b. He played the sax for 3 years before joining bts and has since taken trumpet lessons. To get a feel of him live, i recommend his tiny desk performance or band sessions. He also has multiple solo songs within bts albums as well as OST's and singles he released as gifts for army. Layover is very much a chill album that tells a cohesive story and the intention is for it to be listened in one go… as the tracks bleed into each other. Tae’s intention with the album as he said in his interviews was to offer army and listeners, a chance to take a pause, a brief rest and moment of calm tranquility while they take stock of where they are in life etc. it’s very soothing, dreamy with a touch of melancholy and beautiful nostalgia. The MV’s are the visual interpretation of the songs as listened to them. They were all shot in the space of a week and a half in Spain. The dog is Rocky, a stand-in for his own real dog Yeontan (nicknamed Tannie) whom he couldn’t take to Spain for health reasons etc. As others have stated he is part of the vocal line and dance line in BTS and one of the main visuals. (Also an honorary rap-line member, he’s their biggest fan). He’s a singer-songwriter, composer, producer, actor, director (he directed his winterbear MV) he has other songs that he released as free gifts for Army ( Winterbear, Snowflower, Scenery) as well as two osts for k-dramas he gifted to his friends who were starring in them. Sweet Night and Christmas Tree. Sweet Night had the record for the most itunes no.1’s: 119. And Christmas Tree is the most streamed k ost ever on Spotify. The second is Sweet night. He also has three solos released as part of BTS albums, Singularity, Stigma and Inner Child. This is an E.P. with only 5 songs so it makes sense that the whole album would have one cohesive vibe. However there are other solo songs of V’s to check out. The project was tied together telling a story both in lyrics and in MVs.
He is the second youngest, Vocalist, dancer and visual (even if the not the offical one, he is too stunning not to be considered a visual and the memebers agree).
All of the members released solo projects before enlisting in the military, ALL of the BTS members are now serving in the military and they wanted to do some solo projecta before coming back and resume as a band.
This is why each project is a statement of their own flavors and preferences.

Loved your reaction!! Tae is part of the vocal line, the dance line, and is one of the visuals (alongside Jin)! This album really showed his tastes very well, he is really into R&B and Jazz music! I look forward to even more from him, because this album is sooooo good (& all of his songs in general are great)!!! I definitely recommend you to check out the episode of IU’s Palette that V was on because they sing a duet together!!! Also check out his Tiny Desk Performance (he sings Love Me Again, Slow Dancing, and For Us in it). Also the dog in the MV is Rocky and plays as Tae’s real dog Yeontan (they look VERY similar) and Yeontan is on the cover of the album!

About the songs sounding the same, I would disagree as they are in the pop soul to R&B but are variations is about his vocal range. FYI it has received critical recognition. As you noted that's his style and this album is a start to his musical direction as a soloist within BTS. Interesting reaction.

I would have loved to hear V in IUs song too. I mean it’s her song but maybe a V version remix etc? BUT and that is a big BUT the love wins all MV was shot 1 week before his enlistment and the song was recorded 2 days after the shoot. So there would have been no time to even consider it. We are lucky that he could be in the MV.

V aka kim taehyung and all other BTS members they try to find their own perspectives in music.. the V you listen here is far different if you listen him as BTS.. it's just they're on hiatus and wants to show army's their fans their own music feel which they find for themselves particularly soo after hiatus every member of BTS release their own ablum finding themselves in them through their voice.. music.. and lyrics they're on a journey to improve themself more and give their best shot to their fans and variety of genres in their music.. every single one is like north.. south.. east.. west.. etc.. and the whole different people together becomes BTS.. if you are impressed with the single person you can't imagine if you listen all BTS songs along the story and msg behind them.. They're king of kpops for a reason.. try to find it coz BTS songs are puzzle pieces they'll let you in a beautiful world where their is only peace and love..
All seven BTS members debuted as solo artists from July 2022 to November 2023. They did that so that they could grow as artists before enlisting for their mandatory military service. The only member that didn't get to debut a full album was JIN. He debuted with a solo song, and he promised to release his album after he comes back in June 2024. All seven members of BTS will have completed their service by June of 2025, and they will come back together as a group. They already have a plan for their comeback. Also, they renewed their contract, which makes it their third contract with their label Big Hit music/HYBE. ARMY's will be here waiting for them.
V is a vocalist, and a part of the dance line, and I would characterize his voice as a very soulful baritone that sounds very smooth like honey. But he can get gritty with his deep raspy growl in some of the more Hip Hop influenced songs of BTS.. He is also an actor. He was in the K-Drama Hwarang, many years ago.

I don't know how to explain this, but he is someone who uses his voice perfectly. He can place his voice anywhere in his throat. Although his voice seems to be in his normal tone in this album, he is actually singing in a thin tone, with his breath.

V's a Baritone but he has a huge range. He a saxophone player and a lover of Jazz. In fact there's a practice for his Tiny Desk concert where at the end he's jamming with the Band on the saxophone. This is his first solo album although he has solo songs within BTS Albums the same as all the members. Oh and a number of OST's for Korean films, TV series.

Hi! Happy you found our Tete! Vs name is Kim Taehyung he is a 95 liner and the next youngest after Jungkook. In BTS he is a vocalist and a member of the vocalline and danceline since 2018. BTS have pretty much moved away from the position system originally Jin is THE visual (he is a lovely vocalist too)To me they are all hot as heck he he but Tae Jin and Jungkook are often called the visual Bermuda Triangle. When talking about Tae’s voice he has the deepest voice in BTS at least in vl. The way he sings most often also makes the tone sound lower than it is because of its rounded sound. He also has a very wide range some say the widest in the group. I love his head voice and his airy falsetto. Layover is his first solo album and I think he just wanted a concept album that features what he likes. When it comes to genres he is very versatile but he does love jazz and rnb. He had this gorgeous collab with UMI called wherever you are. If you want explore him more check out his solos within BTS, Stigma, Singularity and Inner Child, his osts It’s Definitely You (with Jin) Sweet Night and Christmas tree. Also watch IUs Palette with him where they duet Ending Scene. As for all other members of BTS they also have solo work all together 7 albums have come out in their ch 2 from mid 2022 to December 2023. Rapline have earlier albums too. Now they are all serving and will be back in June of 2025. BTS is one of a kind. Many casual listeners have hear Butter, Dynamite and maybe permission to dance which are three earworm English songs but BTS is imo a whole other deal. I’m not sure about your taste but I recommend from their earlier work, Dope, just one day, spring day, fake love, dna, micdrop, life goes on. Stopping myself before I cite their entire discography which is very big😂. They are known for their energy filled performances and their live vocals in concerts so do check out dance practices and live performances too. The variety in the album is good - It is an R&B album. It is a sonically cohesive album like calssic albums - A good body of work from top to finish. He cannot put a pop track or a rap song or a pop ballad in it - tho he could do all of them.
It does not feel like 5 singles of diff genres put together in an album like many contenporary albums do. It flows well from one song to another - which is imortant to set the vibe.
But ppl hardly listen to albums frm top to bottom these days, so many might not appreciate it.
It is refreshing to not have an album break the vibe while playing because they decided to put a sonically vry different track in the middle of the album.
Awesome Reaction! Kim Taehyung aka BTS V or TaeTae is the only baritone vocalist out of 4 vocalist in BTS in which the other 3 (Jin, Jimin and JK) are tenors and then you have 3 rappers (RM, Suga, Jhope) that makeup BTS. TaeTae has the widest vocal range with a baritone voice that is deep like to the ocean to being able to hit extremely high notes. You definitely need to check out Stigma especially Live and you will understand. TaeTae has always been an amazing dancer, but he became apart of the Dance Line along with (Jhope, Jimin, JK) shortly after his Singularity MV in 2018. Although Jin being the oldest was the first visual of BTSmany times the BTS members have stated that TaeTae was also a visual in BTS and he has earned the title multiple times as Most Handsome Man In The World.
This gorgeous, multi-talented, sexy, humble man is excellent singer, dancer, writer, composer, model, actor and more. He acted along with Park Seo-Joon and Park Hyung-sik in an excellent K-drama Hwarang.
He loves R&B, Neo Soul and Jazz. A few of TaeTae's favorite artist are Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Daniel Caesar, Billie Holiday, H.E.R., Lady Gaga and Jon Batiste and more. He has many solo songs like Snow Flower, It's Definitely You, Christmas Tree, Winter Bear, Scenary, Stigma and more. One of my personal favorite solo songs that made TaeTae my bias 6 years ago until present is BTS V Singularity and Brilliant Singularity Live Stage Mix. Be Blessed!
Yes all of the members have at least 1 solo album (with the exception of Jin who will be releasing his when he returns from the military). The rappers released mixtapes before so they're the only ones with multiple albums. It would be awesome if you checked them out.
I love that V chose to dip into the R&B with a touch of jazz for his project. It matches his warm and rich vocal tones well. It's very hard to do jazzy music and have it sound authentic. Sometimes people try and something sounds a bit off like it doesn't quite fit. This was a risky choice, especially since this isn't a genre that pulls in general public audiences as easily but V is nothing if not true to himself and his vision. He knew what he wanted and went for that.
If I was a young girl, V would be who I would be crushing on.
He does tend to gravitate towards this genre which suits him perfectly. Rest assured, having a wide vocal range he certainly isn’t limited to any one specific genre. I do believe he chose wisely in showcasing his beautiful vocals in his first solo venture. It was also undeniably brave of him to step away and differentiate himself from his group and your typical kpop sound. Although, I respect your opinion I have to respectfully disagree with your comment regarding lack of variety in this EP. This was after all an EP and not a full album. Through these five songs, he tells a story about love, loss and acceptance from beginning to end. Objectively speaking this was one of the most cohesive works I’ve had the pleasure of listening to.

V can go really high too. For his solo work he wanted a more r&b and jazzy sound. All members have solo albums that they released in order to explore themselves musically and because they also were enlisting in the military. All 7 members are currently serving and will reunite as BTS in 2025/2026

He has a great vocal range, in this album you see his original voice which is from a baritone, but being inside BTS he had to learn how to hit high notes 👌🏼
V is 1/7 of BTS, vocal line dance line, visual, aspiring rapper (hehe), composer, music producer, photographer, visual artist, actor, and Dad to Yeontan (his dog). And a genius or probably has a high aptitude score so he is currently serving in the South Korean Military and qualified for the Capital Defense Command Unit. he and the rest of BTS are bound to be discharged all by 2025 where they promise to reunite together with ARMY

I suggest you check out the other BTS members who have all done excellent solo projects very recently before enlisting for their mandatory military service: - Jungkook's full album 'Golden'; RM's full album 'Indigo'; Suga/Agust D's solo album 'D Day'; J Hope's album 'Jack in the Box' and his collab with J Cole 'On the street'; Jin's single 'Astronaut', and Jimin's album 'Face'. They have also done lots of collabs: V with Umi 'Wherever u r', V with IU (IU Palette), Jungkook with Usher 'Standing Next to you' remix with an awesome performance video. I think you will appreciate the variety in their musical styles and tastes. Every one of their solo albums is outstanding. There's a lot more too if you keep digging. Enjoy your journey!

He is the baritone of the vocal line (formed by 4 members: V, Jimin, Jungkook, and Jin). The rap line is formed by 3 members: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. Three excellent rappers, three different styles.
All seven members are complete artists: songwriters, composers, producers, singers, rappers, dancers, and models! hehehe
Their work as solos is exceptional, like BTS, with no bad songs (you may dislike some because they are not your cup of tea, but you have to recognize are well made).
BTS's discography is huge, with more than 400 songs. Every album is a masterpiece and non-skip. Hope you keep digging into this awesome rabbit hole (I fell into it during the pandemics and have been hearing them every single day since then. Oh! I'm not a screaming girl, ok? I'm 66 almost 67yo)

BTS is so far beyond k pop. I feel their original positions are not set in stone because each member steps into most positions. But I believe V is part of the vocal line and dance line. There’s 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. Solo they are all extremely different in their musical styles but together there a powerhouse. No k pop group currently comes close in my opinion. But I don’t listen to k pop. I tried it after discovering BTS but I couldn’t find anyone like them or better than them.

Checking every members projects is very interesting because they all have their very unic style.
The dog in the video isn't V's dog (it's a double named Rocky). It's supposed to represent his dog Yeontan who looks very similar. Yeontan has health issues so he couldn't travel at the time since V was shooting the MVs in Spain.
All of the bts members have solo projects!! The rapline has mixtapes and official albums and the vocal line has albums too!! (Except jin. His album is coming out this year after he finishes his military service BUT he has a lot of songs by his own too!!) There's a lot of music!!! And everyone has a very different sound!!! Some of them do pops, other ballads, others rockish hiphop, chill rap, etc!! A lot of variety!! And you can also check out bts as a group!! They often change their sound so they have a little bit of everything!! Thank u so much for the reaction. He sang a duet with a iu in his palette episode. They sang Ending scene and It was amazing!! Another suggestion is to check out AgustD/suga of bts, He has two collabs with iu!! Eiught and people part 2!!

The all have solo projects always have had solo projects but they all except Jin the eldest brought out a solo album before starting military service Jin will drop his in a few months as he returns in June. They will all be back together in June 2025 for their reunion.
I'm surprised at the description of raspy to describe IU and V's voices...maybe it's a difference in definition. When I think raspy I think of gritty and rough, but to me V's voice has a really low and smooth sound (although he has a wide range to his voice, check out the live version of Stigma for range or Jump for that truly raspy sound). Honey dripped on velvet is actually how I usually describe his voice.
The members of BTS have solo songs within BTS albums, but 2022/23 they focused on their own solo projects as a chance to grow and develop themselves, serve in the military and ultimately all plan to come back as a group for 2025. 6 members (RM, Suga, JHope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) have their own albums. Jin has a single The Astronaut, with some expecting that he'll release an album after he returns from MS this year.

They have postitions however unlike most of Kpop they are very fluid, he's one of the 4 lead vocialist and one of the lead dancers. Oh that is a look a like dog for his little Yeontang who couldn't fly out to Spain were the MV's were filmed as Yeontang has a heart problem. But he did appear live on a Korean Music Show stage with a live auidence while V was singing. As with all BTS members he's been involved in Song writing, Composing and even Producing with help from RM and their in house team.

I'm a bit late, but I don't see comments replying to your question. The dog on the MVs is not his pet dog, Yeontan, but he's an almost exact copy 😂 Yeontan couldn't travel to Spain, where the clips were recorded, because of health issues, so they casted a local pup to play Yeontan's role. Yeontan himself "debuted" on a music show when Taehyung was promoting his album in South Korea
