X Men 97 Tried to KILL Wolverine ☠️

- XMen 97 just tried to kill Wolverine… at least… that’s what it looks like! In the epic Sentinel fight scene, Gambit charges up Wolverine’s claws by turning potential energy into kinetic energy, so shouldn’t Wolverine have exploded? Well, there’s actually a simple answer that has to do with Wolverine’s skeleton and the usage of a “Power Circuit”!

Glad they got so many episodes, hopefully the director getting canned doesn’t affect the quality of the next season

If you saw episode 9, this title just got real interesting
This aged well
Wolverine Colossus fastball special has been a staple of the X-men for a while now.
I'm pretty sure since the 80s lol
As well as gambit charging up his claws and Logan bouncing cyclops lasers off his claws to hit multiple people like a shotgun
If he actually ever did explode, his healing factor would heal it anyways.

“The names Gambit, mona mi, Remember it.” -my favorite X-men
You might need to make an update video….
Its something we see Gambit do on his own, charging the ends of his bo staff to increase its striking power without actually damaging it.
Didn't even realize it was film Theory I didn't hear matpat's voice 😢😂
Cause Matpat Retired From March 9th 2024
@@JamesMcArthur634 I know that
Gambit can do more than just make things explode, he routinely charges his bowstaff to deliver more powerful strikes/ release shockwaves without destroying it, unless they have massively nefted him in this adaptation.
He also has an incredible control over it as well. I remember in the original him charging up a card just for it to fissle out after he tossed it. In the comics he's an Alpha level with Omega level potential
The dude keeps his brain charged at all times to avoid psychic attacks. Idk how well researched this video was...
@@InevitableHimes He'd be almost unstoppable if he ever overcomes the 'power doesn't work on flesh' rule.
So if Gambit was given a chunk of adamantium, could he make perpetual energy?
.....hold up
It still uses energy to charge stuff up, but he could probably get a lot of mileage out of it
There has to be a cap to it. Or does it gain more energy indefinitely after he lets go? Usually stuff explodes when he does that, so would it stop building energy at the point a normal object would explode?
@@undeadinside3571At peak power, Gambit was capable of killing the Phoenix force and all life on Earth with it.
@@ContentMadame i meant a cap to how much the adamantium can store. Even an unbreakable battery has to have a charge limit
"Adamantium is unbreakable"
Cyclops: Hold my left eye
Power circuit: the ultimate 90's anime style power combo attack
Well, Magneto almost did just that...
But doesn't the skin touch the bones😅
If he turns potential energy in kinetic energy then that would mean it WOULD destroy the adamantium, or do littlerally nothing.
Also it's unbreakable except for apparently the mcu
Also note that Gambit, due to having part of his brain removed to help him control his powers, does not have the ability to charge organic matter. Only non-organic matter. So even if he wanted to, he couldn't charge Wolverine's body or even say, Colossus' steel form as it's made of Organic metal. However, I'm pretty sure that combo sent a nice shockwave through Wolverine's system.
Now... if you want to talk about Gambit when he's not gimped by the 616 canon... well... then you get a Remy capable of destroying all life on earth and killing a Cosmic Entity.
The fastball special with Wolverine and Collosus has been around literally for decades.
I ALWAYS LOVE THE CLEAN LOOPS ❤👌🏻
The amount of bots is CRAZY
Gambit's been one of the X-Men's who's had full or nearly full control of his powers for decades, both implicitly and eventually explicitly. This team-up move is absolutely something they would've practiced in the Danger Room before that battle.
All I've been thinking since 97 came out is that I'm still a simp for Gambit.
I mean, have you seen how he looked on his hellfire gala comic cover?
I mean, dang! 🥵 and I'm a fan boy for gambit.
Y’all ain’t gonna be happy about episode 5
@@The_jeff_skits oh I know mon ami.
well... as a Gambit fan, that's not a good moment to be a Gambit fan
@@QuestionMark600 😭 Please just let me be in denial
“Ability stacking” it sounds like one for all.
Gambits powers don't work in living things. Given the fact that Wolverine's adamantium claws/skeleton are indestructible even against Gambits kinetic charging ability, they can not be affected by his powers. Master mold did more physical damage to him after he performed that fastball special since his adamantium is even immune to the Cajuns powers.
i do want more examples of gambit charging up stuff for other people to perform combos, one i frequently think about is gambit charging up one of a nightcrawlers swords so kurt can teleport and propel the exploding sword into an enemy
You should be saying that now after episode 9
The writers really did their research
Did they?
@@D-Rockk idk I'm just guessing
Also, if you watch closely, when they are "cleaning up" after the battle, you can clearly see Wolverine in the background and his costume from the waist up is ripped to shreds. Pretty safe to assume since Master Mold didnt touch him, it was a result of the explosive release when his claws came in contact. Nice visual touch.
Power Circuits are always so much fun, because it shows the teamwork, friendship, and knowledge they learned overtime, either through a long adventure we all watched along the way, or in a time skip to show how much our characters have matured
But remember Gambit has the ability to let his charges set off as a timer or on impact so when Logan struck the Sentinel that was first impact
Those power circuits immediately make me think of those team attacks that we saw in the marvel rivals trailer
wait till they see the new episode
Nothing stopping Gambit from doing the same to Cyclops', visor or sunglasses, so if he wanted to he could doing something mind blowing.
Wait would that mean that the kinetic energy claws connect to his entire skeleton and if his muscle press on then his skin will explode off. So like climbing on his back will trigger an explosion. Not destroying his skeleton but the person on him. I think?
In the video you can see there is a diagram of the claws, there's a silicone layer separating the claws from the rest of his skeleton so that probably acts as a barrier so only the claws are charged.
I’m sooo glad Marvel retcon this and made the claws a part of his mutation rather than surgically implanted claws
You can literally see him in a liter clip with his clothes blown apart He does have a healing factor, you know
Gambit can also just make things hit harder with his powers like what he does to his staff
6'2" Gambit riding on 5'3" Wondering Wolverine 😂
Seeing Rogue devasted, then saying 'Sugar' in the last episode just broke me😮💨
Gambit can shut it down if you recall to the episode when morph impersonated Charles gambit tossed a charged card at Xavier/morph and as morph stood up proving he was a fake gambit deactivates it showing he had control beyond it leaning his hand
They did something similar with Cyclops and Bishop
Fun fact: Gambit couldn't charge wolverines skin if he wanted to. He can only charge organic matter( excluding multiverse versions of him)
Gambit regularly partially charges cards. He has also used it on his staff.
Man has a healing factor
Cyclops’ landing was 👌🏽
Would've also just chalked it up to his healing factor....
The claws themselves are separate bones, so Gambit could.. in THEROY... charge just those bones. Can't wait to see more of Gambit's combo attacks in the next season.....
Except for New Sun, Gambit has never been able to charge organic material. Furthermore, because his "charge" occurs at the molecular level, it would not retain the "indestructible" characteristic.
Y’all keep forgetting that gambit controls the charge. Meaning HE determines if something explodes or not. Prime example is when he exposed Morph trying to be Xavier
Please give us a full X-men 97 episode there are so many questions with where the season is going and Id love to see you do a video about it
The main argument against it is that it would also charge the parts of his claws inside his arms, which contact the muscle inside his arms, potentially making contact with and transferring energy to the inside of his arms, causing his muscle to explode
Didn’t even notice this was Film Theory 😭
Please make more X-men '97 videos! The series is so good! Hope more people get to watch it and love it as much as I do :D
Imagine Kurt teleporting Logan into the sky, having him fall claws first into some giant baddie?
Technically, if anything, Wolverine's skin would've been destroyed while he'd just be a walking skeleton for a bit before it regenerated
Wolverine's hands were nothing but none after, but he grew them back offscreen
well you guys did technically call it Wolverine dies in ep9 😒
We call those HYPER TEAM COMBOS
Who's here after episode 9 and Wolverine vs Magneto
He became the demon core.
His body would be liquefied after he hit anything.
In conclusion:
Not even a bit, but here’s this cool lesson on Gambit and Wolverines abilities.
Gambit can also just control whether or not it explodes, like when he charges up his staff.
Wolverine can't die. He can regenerate from a single cell
It's either matpat or death!
Gambit fights by charging his staff all the time in melee combat, and the staff never explodes. The kinetic energy just transfers to what he hits and THAT explodes. This shouldn’t have surprised anybody.
Gambit can't use his power to indulce explosions on living beings, there is a story about him coming to Essex to undermine his own powers to make he unable to do so.
I remember a time when the X-Men were overlooked especially Cyclops because the Fox movies weren’t that good but after the revival of the original series everybody’s losing their marbles honestly I think it’s a great way to get people hyped for Deadpool and Wolverine
Magneto just killed Wolverine today. Ripped that skeleton right out of his body! It was pretty epic!
Gambit's powers don't work on organic matter. The writers knew that.
Its actually a combo from an old xmen game as well
I didn’t even realize this was film theory 😂
Wolverine is not dead. He will heal, BUT Magento took away the only thing that's stopping Wolverine from killing him for good.
People who think he’s doing a good job as the new director of film theory
👇
One man’s “clever” is another man’s “The writers are just pulling stuff out of their butts”
You should make a video about how Mission Impossible and Jack Ryan are connected
@OfficerTOUCHGRASSUTTP
Then explain to me why everyone misses Mat Pat and I’ve never even heard of you
Wolverine can basically heal from his brain stem basically so if he did explode as long as his brain stem is intact he will survive
Gambit could be extremely powerful images changing kinetic energy to potential even in mid air or absorbing the kinetic energy and being able to distribute it later in like a blast he could change someone’s potential energy into a directional kenetic and send someone flying
Any Gambit fan knows that he can't charge organic material, at least not at his current level, New Sun( Alternate Dimension Gambit)on the other hand could melt people just by thinking.
Wolverine has literally healed his entire face after it was blown off by the Punisher. Growing his arms back wouldn't be a big deal
But they actually killed him...iykyk
Physics say that his claws should have still exploded since the potential energy in the claws were converted into Kinetic energy.
After ep 9 maybe 🙃
Came to watch this after episode 9.
No he isnt dead magneto removed wolverine's adamantium from his body it happened in the comic
Ultimatum Writers : Ummm actually ☝️🤓
Also... y'know... healing factor? Duh?
_Master Mold being called a Sentinel really tilted me...._
explosions are gambits max power but he can charge it to just have more kinetic energy and do more dmg like with his staff
This video aged interestingly
It did indeed, I was shookth
Nvm he's not dead.
Gambit… charging something… someone dying…
Well also gambit'a powers doesnt make everything explode they can also be used to give an extra push like his staff.
from what I know is that gambit powers dont work on organic matter so it really make sense to work on wolverines adamantium claws which isn't organic
In older X-Men and Ultimate Alliance games it was called "Power Synergy", and its appeared as far back as im aware, in the comics, as the first use of the "fast ball special" coop move between Wolverine and (insert Strong character here), like Colossus, or Juggernaut.
Am i the only one excited he's still posting?
Almost unbreakable. Cap's shield has been broken on several occasions (mostly by cosmic beings) and i'st made of proto-adamantium which is much more durable than adamantium.
The "power circuit" was used earlier in Uncanny X-Men by Jean/Phoenix and the X-Men and Corsair in the M'kraan Crystal and also when Shadowkat merged the members of Excalibur so they could defeat Necroms convergence with the Phoenix.
I think in this universe the healing factor isn’t as powerful as comics, characters seem to be incredibly concerned whenever wolverine takes too much damage and I think it is possible for him to die if he received too much.
