I miss this era of gaming so hard.

My favourite track starts at 6:18,
    I wish I had bought a MT-32 20 years ago.
But we do not live in the States and had no knowledge of what it even sounded like.
There was no Internet back then.
We should look back and think back on how lucky we all are.
    I just bought a MT-32 off ebay.

I'm from the U.S. and didn't know anything about it until the past few years. Even if I had, nobody I know would be able to afford it, I'm pretty sure.

MT-32 was prohibitively expensive at the time. Back then I didn't even have a 286 to run this game decently.

Mine too. It's an awesome haunting little nightmare composition with tons of tense chord extensions in it. The guys who composed the simple, yet brilliant music for this game really knew what they were doing, very melodic indeed!
On an MT-32 it sounds more mysterious, because of the harp sound. On an Adlib/SB this tune sounded even spookier with those metallic digital Yamaha OPL synth sounds. Kinda like an excellent horror theme, making you feel intrigued by its mystery and repulsed by its brilliant nastiness at the same time if you know what I mean.. While most games from the era made it sound clunky, this game made excellent use of those Yamaha FM chips as well. One of the very best!

I'm shocked. The instruments sound very nice, the sound quality is amazing..... but I think I prefer the sound blaster/adlib version!

No, SNES version is different than DOS, primarily by the sound. SNES version is much worse than that

I was just an AdLib guy, so I've never heard the Mt-32 instrumentation.
