- Favorite safe street food treats, vegetarian food and shopping the markets in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our personal tips for eating and snacking safely:
1. Choose food that is cooked fresh to order and look for the places that are popular with locals, they know all the best places to eat. We avoid street food that is sitting out buffet style. Any food that has a chance of a fly landing on it, run away, just run like it's the plague, flies are vectors for disease!
2. When it comes to liquids, stick with only bottled beverages (make sure the caps are sealed). Although there are many smoothie, iced and ice blended drinks, we've seen the ice factories here and don't recommend consuming any ice.
Same goes for brushing your teeth, skip the tap, safer to use only bottled water.

Well you guys look like you are having so much fun. I would never go hungry there, a great place for a vegetarian. The laughing lady you filmed was hilarious. You are doing a great job of sharing your adventures with us. Love it.

Depending where you are in Thailand, but in non touristy restaurants or resorts the food prices usually range between 25baht to 50 baht - in pounds this is about 45p to £1 for a single meal. Normal drinks costs about 10 - 15baht.

I'm not familiar with their culture in Thailand and what they eat, but they seem to have a lot of things available to eat without meat. That is a huge plus. Xx

Your videos are very nice and informative :) Can you give a few more, specific tips on eating vegetarian in Bangkok? Which places to go? I was thinking food courts in malls, is that a good idea? I'll be there for 11 days in January. I'd be very thankful for an answer!

What are the prices at these places you go? Also..what does a public bathroom look like at those markets? I'm sure there will be the good, bad n ugly...but we would like to see. I really LIKE your videos. Would still like to see a numbering system of some sort.
They are really common in the Pacific Islands as well--HeShes;) It is deeply embedded in their culture.

The foot massage was 150 baht (or $4.50) for 1 hour.
When you get to Vietnam you have to try pho ap chao chay it's vegetarian and soooo yummy
