Appraising My Game Collection To See The Total Value

- I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile (I wanted to do it during the whole moving thing, but that went out the window fast). I’m finally going to catalog my entire game collection, sort it alphabetically, and find out the total value. I’ve been collecting video games for 15 something years, so I’m sure this will be interesting to find out. That, and I’m really hoping my sealed copy of Bibi & Tina on PS5 will rise in value soon. Fingers crossed, papa is looking to retire early.

A collection is priceless to any gamer out there.
Absolutely... The only reason I know the circa value of my collection is in the case of insurance.

“I always use time stamps so go ahead and skip to the end if you want” Why would I want to skip such great content always a pleasure watching you!
I use GameEye to catalog my collection, and its free. Pretty easy to use. Only downside is 10 games a time can be added, but still uses scan or manually adding. Very good for when I'm out and forget what I have already.
Same here after seeing this app he has I'm glad I went with GameEye lol
Just completed my scans yesterday on gameye it's so great
Yeah I use the same and its pretty accurate. Doesn't factor in condition but gives a pretty good ballpark.
@@immitationstation3369 are you sure it doesn't? You can select 1-5 stars for each item for each game
@@ItsMrCatelli yeah you can do a 1-5 rating but it won't change the value (as far as I know)
Your videos are always so cozy to watch. I always look forward for this kind of content from you! Keep it up :)
Oddly..I came upon your channel, with your ‘lot pickup videos’. I don’t usually watch those videos, but there is something relaxing, and soothing about your ‘LONG FORM’ videos, that make it easy to watch/close your eyes and listen.
Saw you on the ‘SpawnCaste’ nearly a handful of times.
I watched ALL your new home/setup STUFF.
Great conten! MUCH appreciated.
I have a family, and I work a full time job, and part time job.
FREE time is in short supply, so… I greatly enjoy creators who ‘respect’ my time, and make the best of it.
THANK YOU SIR!
Dope content. Ryan’s vibe is the type we can chill with so more of this pls !
I agree, seems like easy going guy.
Enjoyed watching this video of your entire videogame collection Ryan! Awesome job with this and keep it up! Continue to post and upload these types of videos! They are epic and legendary! Miss Mgs series!
What a beautiful sight your collection is. Im a movie guy so i collect dvds blurays and 4ks. Prefer the physical over digital like yourself. I love the art, the way they all look. I have roughly 10k dvds, 4k blurays, around 800 to 1k 4ks. Im Sure i have doubles forgetting what i have or steelbooka etc etc. Juat such a amazing video man. I bow down to you sir, amazing stuff.
Love the collection man! Its like a damn museum of games! Amazing 👏
Started using CLZ last year it’s amazing. I’m at 1,511 games now. So convenient just scanning any new pick ups into the app. I also use there apps for movies and my vinyl collection
God I love Ryan casually admitting to being at a furry convention
Idk why that matters? It's not controversial or anything, who cares if he's a furry or not
@@RotcodFox Because in all of nerddom, furries are looked down upon as bottom rung. Not saying they are, but they definitely get the short end of the stick.
@@RotcodFox Aha furry spotted you guys all turn out to be pedos in most cases
Definitely is controversial. Like a grown man being a My Little Pony fanatic. It's a very fringe / abnormal thing.
@@RotcodFox Yes it is my guy. Furries are weird af.
Your videos make me so relaxed after a stressful day... Thank You!
This video is pure joy to watch. Thanks for this 🙏!
Such a relaxing video to watch while I’m at work. Great collection, kinda makes me wish I kept most of my games but I was a broke kid who would play and sell my games all the time.
I love these kinda videos Mystic, great stuff!
Great to see the full physical collection at last!
Now do the same for your digital titles (non-subscription based). 🎉
Love it man this is so sweet. Glad you made a video out of it. My problem is I’m trying to grow my PlayStation collection but had a Lego phase a few months back and went crazy plus now I find myself slowly becoming a sneaker head hahaha
Ryan thank you for an inspiring video. I too own a respectable Playstation games collection from PS1 to PS5 and I always wondered how to catalog them. This was a perfect guidance/inspiring share that I ended up getting your recommended clz app with annual subscription. Scanning with bar codes is such a fantastic convenience. Onwards building my catalog, Thanks Ryan and keep making awesome content.
I did this same thing last year over the course of a week. Very much worth the time, nice to pull up an app with all meta data you can want with 1 click link to price charting. Also helps to prevent buying dupes. Was fun finally putting a number on it.
watched the whole vid and i really enjoyed hanging out with you for a few (virtually atleast lol) thanks for the vids tho bro i really really enjoy your content
Really appreciated this video. Thanks for sharing this one
Love that Dead Meat reference at the end going over all the numbers for each system 🤣 I was like "no way he watches Dead Meat"
I have been using Gameye to catalog my collection. It’s free and the creator regularly updates it. It’s a excellent app that works really well.
THATS WHAT I SAID 🤣
That is one great collection.
This has inspired me to go and check how much mine is worth, using pricecharts cuz I'm cheap. Colour me shocked. Unassumingly sitting there in my shelf was a game worth about $680. Not kidding, a CIB Gabriel Knight multimedia edition, the pyramid box. Had it for 30 years, bought at retail back in the day.
Not in my wildest dreams I would have thought it was worth that much. It was like one of those reality shows where someone finds a treasure in the attic or something. Going to get an acrylic case for it now.
The end value of my collection was far higher that I had ever imagined.
Thanks so much for the inspiration and keep up the great content.
I just started using CLZ recently. Before that ive had my collection in pricecharting, gamevaluenow (no longer use), gameye, and the best is personal excel files. Using excel really helps with a bunch of game variations and various not for resale titles/titles that arent in the database. But that can also be time consuming with larger collections.
Looking at your collection, I was *positive* it was going to be worth more than mine. I have about 786 games currently accounted for before updating recent pickups, and it's valued at around $26,000. Though I attribute that to the heavy hitters like Sculptor's Cut, Klonoa, etc.
Yeah, im only at 524 and it values at 20k. He has almost double my games and yet our values are the same? I mostly have playstation as well. Maybe his heavy hitters aren't as heavy as mine and that's why since in my top 5, even my number 5 is higher valued than his number 1. Still, something seems off to me and I feel like his value should be higher.
Really digging the IRL/Vlog content man. Keep it up!
Beautiful collection, Persona games are all gorgeous and a James A Janisse reference. 10/10 video
Awesome Collection Ryan , you are a massive inspiration to us smaller creators 👍👍👍
Haven't watched yet but this is a dope idea for a video, thanks for sharing! will get to watching now :)
I've been waiting for this Video like over a Year 🔥🙌🏼
You give me motivation to do this - been putting this off for way too long.
Impressive collection dude. Well done
Yoooo I've been waiting for this!!!
Wow blast of nostalgia, I spent so many hours building incomplete coasters on Sim Theme Park growing up.
Been watching you for a while. Sick collection, bro!
This is awesome!!!! Please never stop collecting.
I love this app, for sure sometimes it’s not to accurate but it works for me. Great video.
@Mystic 4:51 MGS1 in a PS2 style case is part of the Metal Gear Solid The Essentials Collection, includes MGS2 substance and MGS3 subsistence, the only thing you're missing is an outer box.
Great video and a nice collection! :)
I always get happy when I see you bro. I hope you live forever
Great video. Thanks Ryan
i really have to give it to you man! amazing collection
Really impressive collection! Wow
I really enjoyed seeing the value of your amazing video game collection Ryan! I have PS1 games being some major classics. The PS2 games reign though. I just got a PS5 disc version in November and I am working on my PS4 and PS5 collection now. I prefer the physicals of games unless too good of a deal digitally and its been a game I would like to add to my library that makes more sense to buy the digital version of. I will be downloading that app and looking forward to seeing my total value of my games!
Getting this app and doing this, my collection is a little larger than Mystics but I don’t have as many limited run games. Didn’t want to take on the task of doing it manually but this app is exactly what I need
if you dont wanna pay, GameEye does almost exactly what this one does and actually has some extra features this one is missing. I've been using it for over a year and it's really solid
GAMEYE is hands down the best collecting app on the market. CLZ had to make some changes to try and be as good as GE and yet still charge people for the basic stuff. GE is FREE... can't argue with the price. And I believe you can imports your CLZ list into GE. Jak IV shows up in GE as $124 for CIB and $161 for sealed. GE has cart scanning so you can breeze through NES, SNES, Genesis, GB, GBA, GBC by just having the app look at the cart label (if not CIB).
that’s what i use too
I got the Sushi variant of Wattam too! Such a great simple game. Great video!
Thanks for info on App really useful
That is awesome bro love the collection
Love your videos man
Wow a dead meat reference on this channel? Not what I was expecting! Love it and love this video.
I also use the CLZ app and love it this way i always know what games im still missing while hunting on flea markets or similar
Every time I see somebody with a huge game collection, I both envy them and get a sense of anxiety. If I had such a collection I'd be in a state of constant paranoia and fear of losing it to a break-in, a fire, a flood or other natural disaster.
You even need to hold them in decent condition, like in a room with decent ventilation. I've seen some some people's games getting "molded" nothing too disgusting but definitelly something to look at. Humidity might be the biggest cause of that.
Get collectors insurance
You can insure your collection. And you should.
The funnest thing about collecting is the collecting, if my collection vanished sure i would be upset, but it would give a complete blank slate for the inevitable new collection ^_^
As an Australian with games from my region as well as sooo many games from the US, PAL, JP and Asian territories due to not as many games getting local releases, this is sooo hard to do for me even somewhat easily which is a shame!
Great stuff though, I love this kind of content!
Can’t imagine living abroad and only wanting NTSC versions. I’ve seen someone who has and I feel your pain.
@@6reen6uy I did that for a while but gave up due to shipping from the US being so expensive, now I just collect the PAL versions more for display and burn a copy of the NTSC version for use with modded consoles and slip it inside the manual of each game. The only console I still get NTSC copies for is the N64 cause I obviously can't burn cartridges lol.
@@6reen6uy as german: at least for the console gens that actually had the big flaw of pal & ntsc. the american games were a) in a readable language and b) not unoptimized 50hz garbage. especially our later crts were 60hz compatible, so imagine playing games in letterbox mode
and optional for some games c) not censored. it was for example pretty hard back in the days to get the uncensored alien trilogy ps1 version from the uk
Your hair looks substantially better than before, did you do something different? it looks great! awesome video btw!!
That app is so nice. About a year ago I put in my movie collection on an app and it was 3,100 movies at the time. The scanning function took forever so I manually entered in each movie. I watched The Lord of the Rings extended edition while I did it and I got done right when Frodo and Sam got to Mt Doom.
Hey love your videos. Feel like we are likeminded. Did the same with my collection and it took me a couple hours to put everything in manually in pricecharting and i am at 736 games, ranging from nes to ps5. Nothing from xbox(yet). Same like you, many of my games are from childhood and also at some point stopping of selling games. Just love collecting it and looking for the right price. You were right about some prices not correct with just cib. They will be alot more worth in new condition. Think if i had the american version of every game, think my collection would worth much more since pal is not doing as well as ntsc games. Right now i am trying to complete yu-gi-oh games. Dont have so many handheld or consoles like you though. Anyway awesome collection man!
I would imagine you never get bored with such a collection 😂 I too have been collecting video games across multiple platforms I have about 1800 video games across Xbox and ps5
Very nice and I just used that app to catalog my movies, I am at 605 movies as I chose to collect movies on physical rather than games but awesome collection.
Been using Gameye for awhile to track my collection. Love the app and it even gives a monetary value. I'm sure it's estimated but if you're honest about condition I figure it's probably pretty close. I have found that a few games didn't have specific editions/versions to my collection but as long as it's tracked, I'm fine with that. It's an issue that I figure most apps of this nature probably have.
I don't know why I thought you would have more games from the way they are displayed. I do like your layout
That's one amazing collection. Love the Vita games and pokemons most of all.
The collection makes him money without having to be sold. ❤
I personally use IGN's 'Playlist' App to sort my games by all sorts of categories. Wishlist, Backlog, Playing, Beat, Quit or just custom folders. It's really really great
These are my typa comfort videos, especially while eating
So funny literally baught that mgs long box today. Wow that funny never knew it existed till the night before. Glad I picked it up.
I've been using CLZ for a couple of years. I love it!
I think a useful way to view the final figure here is not to consider it as 'what the collection is worth' but more 'what the collection would cost to buy or replace '.
I loved the Dead Meat reference! That’s so awesome! 25:21
Glad to hear Joel's dream come true with "Insaneo Style" catching on.
Came here to see who else caught that. Lol
I did this recently with price charting. Slightly harder to add since there isn't a scan option, but, I liked it better, you can add details of what's included/missing and different versions or regions
One day I'll have to sort out my collection, cool episode 👍🏻
Burglars working nearby Mystic‘s house while seeing this video:
“Interesting…”
Just started using CLZ games about a month ago, and love it. Also use CLZ movies for movies, anime, and box sets.
Absolute fire collection 🔥🔥
On clz, alot of games if you click on the heading after you scan them, you can select different versions of the same game, like long boxes and different regions
Man Mystic has a baller collection, that's for sure. Wonder if he'll try to collect for the Wii U, cause man that's starting to get a bit pricey same with 3DS and Vita.
@19:54 a few of your Gba games came up as European copies on the CLZ app. Like the FF tactics and I spy challenger
Love the Joel Haver reference snuck in there - Insano Style
@mystic loving the bg music, what remix of "More than Friends" is that, it sounds amazing
Hey Ryan! Great video and great collection! What kind of shelves do you use?
i would love to see your complete collection for each consoles. The shelf of games will never be as good as mine lol
Great Stuff man! I do my tracking via Google Sheets myself
Impressive collection 🎉❤
I love the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon shirt, Ryan!!!
Awesome stuff man, very jealous 😅 I could live in there for the rest of my life haha!
Great video. I use CLZ Games as well....I paid 20.00 to upgrade... I also use CLZ for my fighting adventure books and comic collection, CLZ Music for my girlfriend's Music collection and CLZ Movies for my Blu-ray Collection.
I like that I can see my collection when I'm out buying more for my wall... since I have 1218 games total, it's very nice to see prices and condition when I'm trying to upgrade. My most prized game is Psychic Killer Taromaru for the Sega Saturn. Unfortunately it's only case and Disc, but was able to purchase it for cheap when Blockbuster went out of business many years ago and they were selling all their games.
Definitely great apps to use. Very easy.... has a few glitches on certain games... but would definitely recommend.
Never sell this, amazing collection of gaming history.
Awesome collection Ryan, and you didn't even include any of your PSVR🌊
Thank you for putting timestamps!
That spawn wave reference was good 25:20
Reason why I feel bad to all these people buying digital nonsense their library is worth absolutely not 1 red cents and one day you never know anything can happen you loose everything and need extra cash we loose the internet for months or you just want to pop in an game and play it with no headaches! I can't stress enough how so many are throwing away their money on digital crap . I had my collection appraised 3 years back and it's worth about 103k if I had bought digital all these years if you could back then it be worth absolutely nothing but the cost the console it's on . So I have a very good chunk of change if I ever needed it or if my kids needed it one day . Be smart folks don't give into digital because it's easy get your ass out and buy your games physically! 👍💯✌️. Beutiful collection btw I have to keep half of mine in the attic because it's a lot and I mean a lot lol .
this was really cool to see
What a ball ache! I remember when I wanted to catalog my films it took forever man.
What an amazing collection
I just did the same with this app. The meager result: 127 games in 7 platform, valued at 1100€. I never should've sold my Nintendo stuff.
I personally organize my games alphabetically by platform. So ps5 games, alphabetized, then ps4 games alphabetized, then ps3 games. However I have all the ps3 black labels first, then the old ones with the red logo. I think separating them looks alot cleaner, though I do wish sony had like re-released the old style with black labels. Oh well
