@@703Speed. I bought mine in Maine. Only difference is the color. Nissan calls it “Boulder”which is a lighter grey color, also a $395.00 premium paint color. MSRP was $48210. Only thing it doesn’t have is auto start and stop thank goodness. I hate that feature.
@@703Speed i think the whole nation feels that way about start/stop. the stop/start gauge readout tells me when used it saves milliliters not quarts or gallons, 500 miles 45 mili's also if anyone lives close to trl automotive in west virginia heres a copy of the email they sent me, when i asked if they would be making a eliminator kit for this nissan (New products depend on the vehicles people bring us. We could maybe work you to make a device if you want to bring the vehicle to Fairmont, WV. We'd do it for free and pay you $300 for your time/expense because we could then offer the device for sale to others. We don't need to drive your vehicle. It usually takes about 8 hours to put together a prototype and test it. We do this over a 2-day period, usually noon - 5pm one day and 9am-noon the next. This gives us overnight to verify the vehicle sleeps correctly. We can provide transportation to/from a hotel, as needed. Let me know if you're interested. Or, some vehicles have come to us because someone posted on forums/Facebook/social media and found someone with the same vehicle closer to us and they brought the vehicle to us. Just throwing that out in case you participate in the forums and can help us and help yourself get the device sooner by getting someone to bring us a vehicle. This is the best and most complete review of the Nissan Frontier Pro4x! Just picked up my fully loaded 2023 Boulder Gray Frontier Pro4x with the graphite colored bead lock type wheels a month ago and love it. The Frontier has enough tech that I'm happy with. Been a Toyota guy all my life and actually went and test drove a new Tacoma. Then went over to the Nissan dealership and test drove the Frontier and the rest is history. i did the same. drove new tacoma. it seemed cramped even compared to my current 2016 trd sport. the price for a comparable new trd sport was 53k. went and test drove a 2024 pro4x. honestly i was blown away. it’s what the tacoma should’ve been. they offered me 20% off and 4.9% financing. traded in my trd and pick up my frontier this afternoon.
I love it so I bought one love the steering best looking truck out there and I down sized from a Tundra so far glad I went with the Frontier almost 600 miles on mine
I have the exact same Frontier you tested. Got it in January, and so far, love it. I am a bigger guy in height and weight, but am quite comfortable in the drivers seat. Over six thousand miles in a little over three months and enjoying every mile.The rear seat is for kids only, but that goes for any mid size truck.
I really like the way the Frontier looks.. I think Nissan did a great job with it inside and out. I just wish they would put a power sliding rear window in it...
@@703Speed I agree about the rear window being power. If it went up and down instead of sideways they could do it. Also, a grab handle for the driver would be appreciated. The 2014 Frontier I traded in had one, and I used it just about every time I got in or out of the truck.

Just so everyone is aware the aluminum plate in the front end is to help blend the front clip color scheme together. It will of course offer some offroad protection, but there is a true steel skid plate underneath it to protect the area under the engine bay.
It doesn't extend under the oil pan.. you need to add a proper skid plate to protect this area and the transmission pan as well. I have the pro4x and did add that after😊

Are you sure those are pen holders in the center console? The majority of Nissans I’ve driven have coin holders. Either way, really nice truck, and great review!!
Going off road guys please remove your front license plate and mounting bracket. It will get smashed off in no time. Nissan needs to come up with another plate mounting arrangement. Overall a great truck and fun to drive.
Night and day difference with on road driving vs the Tacoma. Came from a Tacoma and the pro4x is so much more comfortable and easier to drive. Plus no transmission gear hunting unlike the Tacoma. And it come with a rear locker
Will the non pro4x ride better on road? I don’t off-road more than driving on dirt roads a few times a year and want the most simple vehicle possible as a daily driver and to tow my race car. Frontier seems like the last simple vehicle for sale today.
Hydraulic assist PS is better for road feel. One reason why I love the Frontier. EPS is for cars. You lost me on the turn signal stalk. It's ok. And agree, too much is being put into the info screen, like Colorado has light controls in the info screen and takes a few pushes just to change the headlights. I call BS on that. As for heated wheel. I hate heated seats, never use them (and I live in Idaho), but a heated wheel...YES. Do love that no a cold morning. As noted before by someone else, there is a minor lumbar support for the driver.
Man. years ago I got my 2006 Dodge 3500 Cummins for 64K Canadian. Not they are $120K..unreal. I would LOVE to downsize to a truck like the frontier but I would be maxing out the tow capacity every time it would leave the yard. I want a Tundra, but they are $20K more than what they should be and still no inventory where I live... world is still nuts.
The rims being premium are very Cheesy , Fake Beadlocks Ill pass on that I don't do Fake anything , I test drove it and its actually really solid I really liked it but I ended up going with a Canyon AT4X still waiting for it to come, I wanted more Tech and a front Locker along with more clearance. I find myself off road allot and the side steps are also a NO NO if you want to be more serious off road they interfere with clearance I would rather a slider , Its a nice truck until you actually think about it and do your homework unless your just branded Nissan , also the cutouts at the front tires are Painted opposed to the cutouts on the ZR2/Canyon they are black plastic not painted , I feel like your just asking for it with the Frontier with the cutouts being painted like that. I like the analog gauge cluster but the info screen in the middle is to small , I also prefer physical buttons, I did notice the steering was not normal to me but I didn't put to much thought into what was bothering me about it , I think you would get used to it I wouldn't say its horrible but that its just different. I think Nissan will have a tough time when the 24 Tacos, 24 Colorado/canyons, 24 Rangers are all out in force but for now you can go the a Nissan dealer and get one, they have 4 on the lot near me. It did seem to me that I had a feeling that the truck needed an update but then you realize its a new truck.

Well if you get the full size V 8 and it's 4x4 I would get the full size. You can do your own skid plates and other things Like running boards at half the dealer cost
I''ve been thinking about the Frontier Pro4X because it provides a good combination of new and old technology. Not a big fan of these high compression turbocharged 4 cylinders that seem to be taking over the midsize truck market. Or large displays that provide all the information you need to safely operate the truck. But I've also read some not so flattering comments about direct injection engines, which this new 3.8 liter is. Any owners out there that can provide any reliability information on this, relatively new, engine?
Every modern engine produced in the last 10+ years is direct injected. There is nothing wrong with direct injection engines, they last just as long as port injection. The engine in this truck is not necessarily new either, it is based on the same v6 engines in the older frontiers, which are very reliable and proven engines.
Also, I consistently avg around 24 MPG with a mix of city/hwy driving back and forth to work in mine, and there is a lumbar adjustment on the righthand side of the driver's seat.

My 2023 has it got my PRO4X June 21. At first I did not realize it was happening, than I saw Tach drop off.. and looked right under the infotainment and there it was, a button to turn it off.

@@Garlander Actually it has a direct injection engine which has the tendency for valves to foul up with carbon and the Titan is already having problems. This problem is normally avoided in carbureted and port-injection engines because the valves are cleaned when fuel passes over them. 🤦🏻
@@ryanb3908 I a former mechanic so I don't need a 101 on blow by. everyone freaks out about gdi, slapping on a catch can and walnut blasting your valves at 100k miles is not a big deal and doesn't = "terrible/unreliable".
@@Garlander Definitely need a 101 on how to write a simple grammatically correct sentence. Titans have the same garbage engine and are having problems at 100 000 km. Rather expensive to take the Frontier in every 50 000 km to have the valves cleaned. 🤦🏻
You do get Lumbar on the driver's seat. It is a handle on the right side of the seat back.

If you upgrade to the nismo leveling/lift kit with even better billstien shocks with remote resivoirs it improves the ride quality dramatically.....

the steering is speed sensitive very heavy at low speeds . a lack of a eco/sport trans shift mode as keeping the rpm up at low city speeds is fun
I'm so glad I got my Pro4X before they put that damn auto start/stop crap on it.
Start the truck. Push the ASS button. No big deal. Thankfully there's a button and I'll gladly take the beefed up alternator and larger battery.

Yup, new truck prices are crazy.. The mid size trucks just make more sense if not towing A LOT of weight, but use the bed.. So much easier to park

I don't believe they do.. You could look into some aftermarket options. I don't have any solid recommendations though

The computer is lying to you. Divide miles driven by gallons added at fill up. It won't be 24.

It's part of the vq engine family and has been proven. Calling it terrible and unreliable is far from accurate and is kinda asinine to say.

@@ryanb3908 I a former mechanic so I don't need a 101 on blow by. everyone freaks out about gdi, slapping on a catch can and walnut blasting your valves at 100k miles is not a big deal and doesn't = "terrible/unreliable".
@@Garlander Definitely need a 101 on how to write a simple grammatically correct sentence. Titans have the same garbage engine and are having problems at 100 000 km. Rather expensive to take the Frontier in every 50 000 km to have the valves cleaned. 🤦🏻
