@@ruolov1 Oh absolutely, and I’m aware of how cheap and easy it is. Spent my fair share caulking joints. Just pointing it out for folks who may not know. A toothbrush is a bit abrasive and can remove the silicone over time.
I wear a glove and stick my hand in the garbage disposal and clean it that way. You can feel all the nasty sludge and grime and clean it way better than a brush cuz you can feel when it's perfectly clean. I also have hot water running while doing it. 🥰
You can also run a bunch of ice (with water of course) through it, and it grabs gunk and wipes it away! If it still smells bad, try adding citrus or baking soda or vinegar with the ice. Good luck!
Bro my mom makes me do this everyday , we're Arabs and she hates it when something isn't clean so basically right now I myself can't handle seeing the sink unclean even in the slightest so I do this at the end of the day when I'm not using it , except the baking soda , that's once a week :)
This may seem like common knowledge to some people but I love your videos. There is no shame in learning new ways to make life better. And if anything your videos are just filled with good energy. I dont know how to describe it but your videos are great for grounding myself when anxiety is so high that I get too overwhelmed.
Oh also, you should turn off the garbage disposal breaker, you don’t have to unplug it after that, sometimes unplugging the disposal with the outlet off can cause a big spark. (i learned it the hard way)
I'd rinse before you put the vinegar in. You're just neutralizing the baking soda and vinegar by combining them. But if you do them separately by rinsing in between you'll get the benefits of high and low pH cleaning. Also, stuff a bunch of icecubes in the disposal and grind them up. Can help sharpen the blades a little bit
DONT EVER PUT ANY TYPE OF PEELS CITRUS OR LEMON AS MANY DIYS TELL YOU. from a plumber here, thats a bad idea. But go ahead and clog up your disposal if you want
Every time I peel an orange, basically everyday, I just toss it down the sink. It smells so good and cleans the blades. If I get a bad orange in my little mandarin bag every so often I just toss the whole thing down 😂
To answer that question... the sink is cleaned regularly- at least a few times a week, the drain twice a month and yes to the toothbrush. Alos don't forget the faucet and the dishwasher spout that sits on atop the counter. Remember the dishwasher needs a little TLC as well. I was once that freak that cleaned all my appliances, washer dryer. I couldn't stop laughing when my ex found the big screen TV in pieces after coming back early from work COULDN'T count on Sears to be on time. Vacuum cleaner is also a must, they reak when neglected (onve had an in-law use my $2,400 machine as a wet-dry vac on wet banana TF, - thats a nope!
OCD isn’t about organizing constantly and cleaning you could vary well have ocd and be really messy and unorganized. OCD is basically over obsessing on the little things but it’s very painful because they can’t control it because they think something bad could happen and it an over lingering thought. I babysat a child who did and would scream constantly but she wasn’t a clean person it’s the little things they can’t control. They may do multiple things like repeating words, cleaning skin constantly till it could bleed and hurt them, over fixate on stuff. It’s not necessarily cleaning. That’s the knowledge I have of it I’m not a psychologist but people can feel free to correct or add more stuff
@churchofsatan7873 Well many with OCD do over clean and clean and clean. I knew a lady who was scrubbing her driveway with a toothbrush. She also washed her kids raw in the tub.
Using vinegar with baking soda doesn't clean anything, it neutralizes each other so it basically makes salty water however if you use them individually it's better for cleaning.
Great advice but a think Brillo pad is more then enough for all of this. They pretty much instantly clean everything off, don’t leave scratches even on Teflon and stuff, really easy to clean and cheap as hell. Every time I clean something in my kitchen I use one, I also cut them in half or even thirds because you don’t need the whole pad and it even gets in the way sometimes.
If you don't have a cleaning toothbrush, a butter knife against the scrubber or dishcloth works great, too. And no risk of a little one putting a cleaning toothbrush in their mouth.
Doing the baking soda and vinegar in your sink and let it sitfor 5 minutes and then pour boiling water down the drain will clear partially blocked drains. It may not seem to work, but let it sit for 2-3 hours and the sink will drain free.
Garbage disposal is the worst thing for your drain. Never put stuff down the sink other than liquids and no, no grease. If you want the citrus you can use lemon juice or lime juice
My man got a new kitchen, good for him some of the I my good that on social media, I do this every other day btw y’all don’t be nasty and clean your sinks often I spray bleach in mine along with the soap

This channel is owned and run by a huge tv network
@@Lewis94CZcamswow, just looked into it and this was created by USA Today. HES AN INDUSTRY PLANT!!! Lol atleast theres no politics

Just be careful in those caulked areas, don’t want to remove the silicone over time!
Definitely probably wanna use a soft bristled brush 😂 the silicone was my first thought when I saw that tooth brush
True.
Right
Just re-caulk them if that happens. It's like 10 dollar items from Home Depot
@@ruolov1 Oh absolutely, and I’m aware of how cheap and easy it is. Spent my fair share caulking joints. Just pointing it out for folks who may not know. A toothbrush is a bit abrasive and can remove the silicone over time.
Simple ingredients like this are great for cleaning! Often there's no need to buy a specialized product
🎯
I clean my garbage disposal with lemons, ice and vinegar but never thought to actually scrub the inside.
Great idea!!

I think a time or two I did it 20 years ago.... glad for the reminder 🎗️
Thank you for this.. my garbage disposal has BAD BREATH!!😫
Make sure to rinse only with cold water after you disposed fatty stuff.
You can also run a bunch of ice (with water of course) through it, and it grabs gunk and wipes it away! If it still smells bad, try adding citrus or baking soda or vinegar with the ice. Good luck!
The citrus rinds are a nice touch.

If you have a stainless steel sink a scrubdaddy and barkeepers friend are super good!
If you have a stainless steel sink, use Bar Keepers Friend if you have it.

"When are you cleaning your sink?" Every day... It's part of cleaning the kitchen.
I scrolled too far to find this comment.
Bless you, my friend. Stay clean! 😁
Only thing I would say is careful scrubbing the joints, sometimes you can damage the sealant. Love the content man!

Please don’t brush the seals of the sink. That will cause disruption to the adhesive and your sink if it’s under mount will soon fail

For the disposal, buy a toilet brush dedicated to only that.

Baking soda + vinegar neutralize eachother. Add them in different steps so they each be effective on their own.
It’s the fizzing that does the work.
😊I liked the ending🤗After cleaning, it leaves a lemon scent. Perfect!

I heard the same thing. They become a rubber band consistency. I don't have a disposal but as soon as I saw them I was like nope.
You can use bon Ami along with the dish soap on that porcelain! Works great
His videos are actually quite helpful. I dealt with my disposal problems by removing it altogether--haven't had any problems since...
Baking soda, soap, vinegar and ice is awesome for diy cleanse..but be cautious of how often and how much citrus peels go into the disposal🙂
Ahhh this was so refreshing can’t wait to do this when I get home

Vinegar and baking soda cancel out each other. The combination does nothing but fizz. Just use them separately.
It’s the fizz that’s doing the work. :)

Baking soda neutralizes vinegar and vinegar neutralizes baking soda. Just use one or the other
It’s the fizzing that does the work by breaking up anything stuck.
Who is not cleaning the sink before they wash the dishes. I can feel my bottom getting warmed at the thought of having a dirty sink 😂

I’ve actually learned not to use a sponge as much anymore, because it spreads bacteria❤
If there is soap on it, logically it shouldn't be spreading bacteria because soap kills bacteria.
Get a scrub Daddy, and/or put it on a plate in the microwave for about 10 to 20 seconds
So what do you use?
That's only if you don't wash and sanitize them.
You have to disinfect your sponges. I use diluted bleach for a few minutes. (yes, it wears out the sponge material faster, but I don't care)
That sink is whiter than my black socks on Saturday
