    I think I’m gonna try the pipe insulation, question: do you have to apply more sealant?

    Excellent guide po! We went to other way and used the insulation foam route 9-mos ago, and I can tell you you made the right choice.
    It sort of did its job, but is now almost completely flat/squished, and it rattles inside the tire.
    We're hoping to replace it with either a Huck Norris, or this backer rod, depending on the price.

      I changed tire the other day and to my surprised the backer rod was still intact but the problem was removing it from the tire. I ended up cutting the worn tire so I can remove the backer rod. Planning to buy a smaller size in diameter backer rod next time. Thanks for stopping by kabayan.

      Hi , Sorry if you don’t mind you can scroll down a bit because there’s almost the same question that was asked from me with my honest opinion. Thanks!

    Just curious. If you had to ride them flat you think you could do it without damaging the tire?

    • @pinoypridemtb
      @pinoypridemtb  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I would try it and I don’t mind if I damage the tires as long as I can go home quickly especially if it’s far from the parking lot or im alone in the wilderness.

    May I know the diameter of the backer rod?

  • @itscaptainadobo

    Does the tire sealant flow inside the tire and NOT adhere to the fiam insert?

    • @pinoypridemtb
      @pinoypridemtb  Před rokem

      My own understanding is that closed cell backer rods will not absorb water so I’m assuming same thing with the sealant. Also, Like I said in the video I drilled a hole into the insert so sealant and air can pass.

      Hi, Only negative that I noticed was when I recently changed my tires and removing the backer rod was a pain probably because of the size of the insert to the tires. In my opinion the advantages of having this DIY insert outweighs the negative like added protection to the rim and I can run low pressure and I’m surprised I didn’t experience any rattle inside. Would I use it again? Yes, but this time I’ll put smaller size insert maybe 1.5 inch rather than the 2 inch that I used in the video. Thanks! !
