  • Their "Natural Voice" voice command tech is a welcomed advancement and just blows "the norm" away. I'm still impressed by it. My G9, my 20s, and EVERY other headset with voice commands, don't hold a candle to this type of speed and one-step-operation. The key: don't yell at it. Seriously, if I talk loud while on the highway, it doesn't work. But if I just speak normal, it's crazy good.

    I just purchased my Packtalk Bold 2 pack. I am trying to set everything up since I haven't ridden with a group to really test it. I just ordered a TomTom GPS so that I can hear turn-by-turn instructions through my Packtalk. I have a few questions. 1) If I am meshed in with say 6 other riders, will we all hear the commands from TomTom or will they only be heard by me? 2) I ride with a group that uses 2-way radio to communicate, can I connect my bluetooth 2-way radio to my Cardo? If so, how? Thanks

  •  Před 5 lety

    Thanks Buddy. As usual helpful video. Is the voice assistan also better in Classic packtalks? Or still laggy and foolish. I shout 20 times Music Off or Music On it never does the right thing. Tried it even changing my dialect from US English to British and everything in between. It never understands. Cheers.

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 5 lety +1

      Haha "still laggy and foolish" I'm gonna use that sometime. So, the Classic packtalks used "normal" voice command and it's the same template that ALL of them use (other than Bold/Slim): Activate the system -> it gives you some sort of signal to talk -> you say the command -> and hopefully it does it. Its a back-and-forth-type-thing.
      To your question, the difference here is their Natural Voice Command tech. You just say the command. You could be in the middle of a conversation and say "Hey Cardo Volume Up" and it does it. Is it better than the Classic Packtalk? Hell yes. Does it work well with accents? I have no idea but definitely post here if you end up trying it!
      Any of the Cardos with "Natural Voice" will work like this and it seriously good. Cheers!

      Thanks!! I just learned of new firmware v5.6 for Packtalk that allows music sharing while in DMC Mode! Finally!!! It was only available in Bluetooth Mode before....Still playing with it, but here's how to do it:
      -Update to the latest firmware
      -Go over to "Bluetooth Intercom Mode" on both headsets
      -Pair the two headsets together while in "Bluetooth Intercom Mode". I paired mine together on "Channel A"
      -Go BACK to "DMC Intercom Mode"
      -Play some music on your Packtalk, and use either the Cardo Connect app to share that music with your passenger, OR, while the music is playing, hold the "Intercom" button for 2 seconds then let go.... you'll hear "music share activated" and should be good to go. Hope that helps and good luck!

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před rokem +1

      Sure - just need to make sure the Spotify app is open on your phone and/or was the last thing playing. Then just say "hey Cardo, music on" to start the music. I use Spotify often, and start, stop, and skip tracks by voice only. I can't skip to a previous song because I'm running the free version but sure you could do that as well with voice if paying for the app. Hope that helps!

    Hi thanks for that. Am I right in thinking if you connect pac talk to the tft and your phone to the tft then you lose the hey Siri function. Also does the music sharing still work if you do it this way. Just wondering if it’s better to forget the tft and just connect to phone only. What do you suggest
    Regards
    Andrew
    Sent from my iPhone

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah that's correct... if you connect packtalk to tft and the phone to tft, the benefit is being able to see and control things through the bike's interface, BUT, you loose the "Hey, Siri" (and the Cardo app) function because there's no direct relationship between the phone and the packtalk. If you connect your phone directly to the packtalk and not to the tft (you could still connect the packtalk to the tft for it's built-in radio and such) then you would have access to Siri and the Cardo app but no longer can see who's calling and what song is playing on your tft screen because your phone wouldn't be talking to the tft at all. It totally comes down to preference, but I think I lean towards doing everything through the tft. Keep in mind you can always do it one way today and the other way tomorrow!

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 4 lety

      You pair to the TFT using the "Mobile Phone 1 Pairing" mode on Packtalk. In the TFT menu, go to wherever it is that talks about pairing to a headset and get it searching/looking to pair, then just hold down the Mobile button on your packtalk until the light starts flashing red and blue real fast. Once Packtalk shows up on the TFT screen, select it and you should be good to go. Another tip: Only pair your phone to one thing. Don't pair it to both the TFT AND the Packtalk...just one or the other.

    i have just bought a Packtalk Bold Duo, but the voice commands do not work on either unit despite updating the firmware and App. It does not have the English (UK) option that Phlbo mentions. Voice control is selected in the settings. Any suggestions please?

    • @MotoGeekFreak
      @MotoGeekFreak  Před 3 lety

      You should be able to find that English (UK) option if you open the App, go to Settings (little gear symbol on top left), and select "Unit Language". That will do the trick. If still struggling with the voice commands, make sure that the mic arrow is facing your mouth, speak normal volume (don't yell at it lol), and use the same cadence as I do here in this video (no long pauses, etc.). Best of luck and hope that helps!

      Absolutely. Only tip is that if you want it to control Spotify (instead of say, Apple Music) you need to open the Spotify app. That way, when you say "Hey Cardo, Music On" it knows what music to start....in this case...Spotify.

    • @MotoGeekFreak

      Drone Aerial Videos Yeah, there’s a setting in the app within the “Volume” section that lets you adjust that. I know it’s the top slider but can’t remember exactly what it’s called off the top of my head; it’s System Volume or something along those lines. Raising that will change the system’s voice. You can also try raising/lowering the volume WHILE she’s speaking but that’s a bit tougher. Hope that helps!

      The Siri and Hey Cardo commands are slightly different. With Siri, you say “Hey Siri”, wait for the Packtalk to say “Hey Siri” back, then say the command. With the Hey Cardo commands there’s no pause. You would say “Hey Cardo Music On” all in one clean sweep. No pause. Could this be whats going on (you waiting for feedback after saying Hey Cardo)? Also, the commands have to be said exactly as written. For example you couldn’t say “Hey Cardo play music”…that’ll do nothing. Gotta be “Hey Cardo Music On”. Hope that helps man!

So if Apple music is what your phone played last, you just say "Hey Cardo Music On" and you're there. But, if you wanted to switch over to Spotify, then you'd need to pull up Siri for that.
