The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom might just be the greatest Nintendo Switch game of all time but I noticed some pretty strange things during my time playing The Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom. So strange in fact that I made a video about it going over 30 things that don't make sense to me. Yes I am going to be applying real world logic to The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
The list of secrets and weird glitches in Breath of the Wild continues to grow, such as bokoblins stealing your horse, eating your own paraglider and sheikah slate, and the Yiga Blademasters able to carry around the ancient flame. Launch Timing Update for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel. The Legend of Zelda series producer has an update to share about the launch timing of the sequel to The Legend of #Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The portable pot one, in the tips screen it is mentioned "Unlike conventional pots, Portable Pots do not use flame and can even be used in pouring rain."
But heat

@@Apotheosis0 idk but he's doin it
@@Apotheosis0have y'all never heard of electric stovetops? Producing heat without an open flame isn't some arcane futuristic secret.
The stamina one makes sense. It's been mentioned that link is plagued with gloom. We can imagine gloom infecting his lungs and heart to reduce his respiratory efficiency and make cardiovascular activities such as running and climbing pretty difficult.
that's probably the dumbest one on the list
☝️🤓💬
Link got lung cancer

Also he’s been asleep for a while not doing anything until he suddenly had to
In the description for the hydrant device it says something about being used to prevent drought on the sky islands, so we can assume that's where the sky islands get their infinite water.
Beneath the dirt under all the lakes in the sky island is hundreds of Zonai Hydrants just endlessly spewing water to keep the lakes filled.
@@deltaterasubrushgoddess2329 Precisely.
But then where do the hydrants get their infinite water?
@@lilithofthevoid4922 They suck the moisture from the air. Now how they do so from under the dirt, I haven't a clue. Pipes or something I guess.
@@lilithofthevoid4922 Zonaite i guess? Probably the same way the floating platforms in the sky always float.
4:34 i think the reason why there is no snow, there are barely ANY clouds near or above sky islands, therefore, this does make sense, because no clouds means no rain or snow.
then how do some sky islands (of which are still above all clouds) are still cold??
@@anuseater69 because the higher you are the colder you are
@@cat.tasticblue1455 what about the warmer sky islands? Like the one with the king gleeok in Gerudo
@@anuseater69 why are mountains in Hawaii warmer than the Sierra Nevada Mountains? There's climate, distance from the equator, the rotation of the earth on it's axis, and WAY more factors.
Yes and no... like yeah it makes sense there's no snow, but it should be even _colder_ than the ground, even if there isn't snow, because the higher the altitude the colder it gets.
Technically... ALL the sky islands should be fairly cold, considering most of the mountains as tall as Mount Lanayru are freezing.
I like to imagine that Sidon just secretly follows his best friend everywhere and saves him when he drowns because friendship
Head cannon accepted
It can be explained this way if it’s on the ground but what about from the sky island to the ground? Does he just grab the purse pad, look at the map, try to figure out where you jumped from and bring you to wherever he though you were?
@@selinawastaken5008 sage of water... powers unknown hahaha dude makes a whirlpool to dry up an area for Link to explore that stays even after he leaves....so I mean... maybe
@@selinawastaken5008 never underestimate the fish boi
That's hilarious because he's so big... imagine him "hiding" behind a rock and Link just doesn't notice him.
the drowning one can be explained in universe with „Hylia saves him“ though. i like the idea that link actually drowns and Hylia just sighs and warps him back to where he last set foot on water
Link: *jumps into water and drowns* *AGAIN*
Hylia: ffs link *saves him*
Link: *DROWNS AGAIN*
Hylia: this is the one I chose? THIS ONE?!
@@Nadreix Hylia: i love my idiot.
People always say that... as if Hylia isn't literally Zelda. Hylia _was_ a goddess... but she gave up immortality to reincarnate into Zelda whenever Hyrule was in danger. This happened even before Skyward Sword, the earliest game in the timeline. Most NPCs and people in canon don't know this though, so they still think its Hylia watching over them.
I don't know _what_ speaks to you when you talk to the goddess statues, but it certainly isn't Hylia.

Regarding dropping links stamina, you have to remember that after Ganondorf glooms away Link's hearts, Link is sent to the sky for an undetermined amount of time. Considering how worried people are and surprised to see him when you get to lookout landing, that could've been weeks or even months without any exercise or food; it makes sense from a realistic standpoint, actually
The zonai pots are actually clarified in game to not use real fire. They're more like a microwave than a cooking pot, comedically
Zonai are just like sheikah, but much cooler
Sheikah: Daniel
Zanai: The cooler Daniel
what I wanna know is why ganondorf stopped at link's arm when if he could so easily take off his arm and break the master sword then, why not just kill link while he was right there
@@blackcat5360 because videogames don't make sense
He didn’t finish link off because
The sword broke easily, the only weapon that could harm him was weak, so he just decided to ignore link because link was no longer a threat to him. Link was just a no body to him
Note for the last one: in botw, pictures were taken using a drone that doubled as the eye in the sheikah slate, so we could assume that they came up with something similar for zelda's purah pad.
Omg... SOURCE?!
I thought it was concept art
12: He will return via automatic recall, using that special arm.
19: Vitality and Stamina _ARE_ related. And we know Link was in a coma(or at least unconscious) for some period of time. So it's likely his muscles atrophied and thus his stamina is kinda poor.
21: That's because it's magic that propels Link up the Waterfall, it's a special ability of the Zora Armor and not his actual muscles swimming.
30: It has a drone camera.
12: I disagree because he already had that ability in botw where he didn't have the recall ability.
Link had major surgery and was laid up for a while. If you've ever been through that you would know why his stamina is also depleted.
With regard to the eggs, just because they can withstand a lot of tension doesnt mean they're not vulnerable to compression. For example, concrete is EXTREMELY resistant to compression (think pushing down on something), but it will buckle and break relatively easily when subjected to tension (think about the stress a rope experiences when being pulled). The opposite seems to be true of TotK eggs; they can hold up incredibly massive things without breaking, but are incredibly prone to being broken by regular means.
Thank you for reading my Ted Talk
The Purah Pad probably can fly through the air like a drone, and it also might be able to synchronize with the user's mind through some kind of ancient Sheikah mind-reading technology, a nearly-invisible-when-worn headset, or something like that. As for the portable pot, it probably uses Zonai heat magic, Zonai heater technology, or something of that sort. the "flames" appear to be just for looks. According to a loading screen tip, "Unlike conventional pots, Portable Pots do not use flame and can even be used in pouring rain."
For the camera, in some books it is said that the eye on the back of the purah pad can fly.
I thought the same thing but we never see if floating in the rest of the game so i gues thats invald maybe he h as a camera stick or the eye in the purah pad can fly not the pad
@@MapGaojust because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist
@@MapGao Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happy buddy
Ye
@@MapGao in the art book of Btow it was confirmed that the eye of the sheika slate was a camera that was able to focus on you so maybe the purah pad is the same
Eggs actually have grey compression and tensile strength especially along the longer parts of them it’s crushing the shorter parts or precise attacks with points that they’re weak to…also I’d put more merit to the fuse goo if anything
That one guy at the ring ruins can see you even if you're above the ruins where he shouldn't be able to see you
Yes
Yes stupid gate-keeping NPCs!
Mido, I'm looking at you!
the water pumps don't need a water supply, so yes they have magic water spawning capabilities lol
I think the lack of snow in the sky islands is explained by the islands being above the clouds
30 is explained for the sheika slate in BotW as the eye on detaches as a camera drone. Same can probably be extended to the purah pad as well
Number 5 is likely that the fan was specifically programmed to act on friction and they simply did not make an exception for objects with minimal friction.
So the thing with hitting the 4 pumpkins or other hard objects is called hit stop, and the point of it is to make it look like there's a bit of weight in your attacks it's a little more effective when you aren't hitting a bunch of hard objects all near each other
Something weird, when you activate some Lightroots, the map will show some areas on the other side of a giant wall. For example, the Oyimay Lightroot.
dont they pump light into the ground?
Also, they all have different amounts of brightness and differently shaped illuminated areas.
The one about the camera is actually explained, in a BOTW concept book the camera rune for the Sheikah Slate has these little drone things that it deploys to take the picture, so maybe the same thing happens in TOTK.
3rd and 24, For the 3rd one, the handle doesn’t get electrocuted due to the electricity conducting a certain amount, so that means his hand doesn’t get electrocuted but if you leave it on the ground and go near it, you go on the actual weapon to get electrocuted not the handle, unless you….somehow put your feet on it… at the same time…anyways yeah. It makes pure sense.
24 ENTERTAINING VIDEO BUT VERY HURTFUL AND ANNOYING, I AM OFFENDED. THERE’S A QUEST THAT MAKES THEM 800x6 RUPEES INSTEAD OF 5000x6 RUPEES…
This isn't TOTK related but I still want to share it: I replayed Botw because yes, but while destroying Divine Beast Vah Medoh's turrets, I was in bullet-time, and, on the side of the screen, saw Teba flying right through Medoh's barrier. If Teba can just fly through Medoh's barrier, why do we need to destroy the turrets?
for the final thing the purah pad actually turns into a mini drone that is controlled by link's arm to take pictures
There is actually very simple solution to who's holding the Purah Pad in Selfie Mode: Either Purah or Mineru gave it the ability to hover around the user for this mode.
What makes portable cooking pots even *more* confounding is that they don't even generate heat when running. You can still freeze near one.
Yeah, they don't use fire read the desc of one.
#27 reminded me of something odd about Breath of the Wild. I haven't tested this in Tears of the Kingdom, but I assume it hasn't been changed.
If you go to a cold area and drop an egg into a hot spring, you get a boiled egg.
But if you drop a piece of meat into the same hot spring, the meat freezes.
The camera one is totally normal and hear me out : in the btow art book there was an info that it was like a little camera ball that was the eye of the sheika slate. So we can assume its the eye of the Purah pad for totk
Number 17, the air is cold yet you are above the clouds (so no snow) and a limited amount of plants can grow here. Past the clouds, although still being cold, it’s easier to live.
5:20 my theory about what happened to links stamina is that is actually got compressed into the single wheel, that's why stamina drain is so much lower than in breath of the wild
it is revealed in the creating a champion book for BOTW that there is a drone that pops out the sheikah slate and takes a photo of link in selfie mode. I'd assume its the same for the purah pad.
8:10 it is because the eye of the Purah pad can come off and hover around (or atleast that was what happened in botw with the sheikah slate)
thx for 1 like!
For the sky lakes not drying its very simple, the water teleports back just like a korok thrown off the edge
I thought it was because the goddess hylia blessed them with an endless waterfall like what’s happening in skyloft
Impersonating an owl (the glide suit) can stop all fall damage when you wear the full twice upgraded set
2:17 If you talk to someone inside of the yiga hide out, One of the mentions that the tree enemies are actually yiga clan members. The reason it takes damage is because it's a person.
Must have missed that!
4:36
You see those clouds ? Yeah, you’re above them. How fascinating !
0:41 maybe the sword handle has rubber protection?
Or the ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS arm that raura gave link cant be electrocuted
@@Coolstar_der_Clipper raru
@@Koopai386 rauru
@@vidarmartinsen2813 rawrawr
The tree one makes sence, becuase the normal trees are wet because they are alive, but the “evil trees” are actually just yiga in disguise, so thus the trees are dead and dry, and thus can burn easier.
There is an armour which has an effect that negates all fall damage but if you take of your helmet you take fall damage
Its a magical effect
Something that doesnt make sence if you have the glide armour upgraded to level 2 you can jump off the highest point in the game and survive even if your going at maximum speed which is faster with the glide set.
How did you not mention how if you upgrade your glide armor twice you just don’t take fall damage. How does some upgraded fabric prevent all your bones from breaking
Fun fact about the carrots: I haven't tested this in totk, but in botw my horse would still eat carrots owned by farmers
The trees burning make sense. It takes alot of heat to get a treet to burn, but sticks burn pretty easily.
the last one i believe is cuz of a drone
in masterworks/creating a champion, we see a small sheikah drone, that looks like the sheikah slate transformed. it could be the same with the purah pad
2:38 multiple rockets going off behind it and it doesn't even flinch, but I move a korok too close with ultra hand and it runs away lol..
I love how TOTK is teaching real physics lessons. When you add more engines to a vehicle, their speed does not add together, the vehicle will never exceed the maximum impulse provided by any one given engine. This is why cars have transmissions, and why rockets have stages.
What I thought for 10; First had more thrust and escaped but won't go higher than if the two rockets escape.
28 is because Nintendo didn't want to do an interior from when you look through the door for every shrine. But I think they should have had a different one for blessing
I thought the entrance was different was different for blessings🤔
For the camera thing it’s probably like the sheikah slate, where the eye came out as a drone to make the photos.
4:45 you are above the clouds
During the events of "Tulin of Rito Village", it snows on some of the islands
Impact proof from wingsuit armor, is totally realistic and makes sense. Sure let's attach a few monster parts and mats and all of a sudden you can't be killed by impact. Like why has no one crafted that and just dive bombed their enemies?
i love the idea that link doesn’t consciously think about others until it comes to food grown in a farm. like he believes any other animal or random plant or creature is free for the tank taking, but food grown on farms is a little too much for him
You forgot to mention that rain is somehow able to put out fire under a cooking pot despite the cooking pot itself blocking the rain from reaching the fire.
3:46 Sacrifices to realism had to be made in order to prevent every player from becoming a terrorist. You've seen what they do to Koroks... if they could do the same to _people_ this game would just be a war crime simulator.
Link uses his zonai arm to fuse things, by using its power, i guess that power reduces the weight of the spike balls and boxes so he can use them properly
But how does that kid in terry town manage to defuse them back to their proper weight/mass? :O
@@sinteleon kid is a witcher but hasnt revealed it yet
For number 23, it explains when you're loading the game in "tips" that the zonai cooking pot doesn't actually use real fire.
In the botw concept art book the reason you can do A 360 selfie is because this dragon fly thing pops out and takes the photo for you
I want to know how Ganondorf seems almost immune to the combined attacks of Rauru and the sages meanwhile Link can smack him around with a soup ladle.
The tree enemies burning actually has some logical reason why they burn. The trees are actually the yiga. Disguised as trees. However the trees not burning unless they are turned into sticks is a bit weird
3:13 recall activating when he's in trouble.
4:35 No snow covering the soil. Above clouds so no snow. No clouds, more sun.
5:07 Hearts/HP are a kind of stamina as well. The green is physical exertion, while HP is how hard he can get hit and not pass out. He lost all his strength across the board.
5:22 They're smaller. Could be extrapolated that they lose weight. Its literally magic.
6:14 ... but it is. It is Zonai magic. It says so. In game. In the tips in the loading screen.
7:09 He can do this for the same reason he can slow down time. His muscles drawing a bow or doing a flurry rush would be moving roughly 9 times faster than normal, which is no small feat. Links muscles can handle fast and extreme actions like this
7:29 This is why you can't heat hypothermia victims up too fast. Its also why you have to thaw meat.
7:53 They all fit in there the same way a shrine fits in those rocks. Zonai space or whatever. Same way ascend works.
8:18 Purah pad with drone capabilities obviously (sarcasm)
8:07 In Breath of the Wild it’s been confirmed that the Sheikah Slate had some sort of floating camera thing used for selfie mode so we can just assume that was included in the Purah Pad as well
With the kakariako village clothes there is a quest and at the end of it you get the money back if you bought any armor
#17 Makes a lot of sense. Link is above the clouds, so he is above the source of the snow. And, #24 IS LITERALLY EXPLAINED IN A QUEST LINE.
3:00 He’s playing with golf rules
I love how lynels can somehow put armor on their fat body’s in some magnificent godlike way
And that lynel armor shard is the almost heaviest thing in the game despite it being not that big. It takes 5 or 6 small wheels to support it so that the suspension isn't completely bottoming out.
For the selfie my first thought was lakitu like in mario 64 and technically it could make sense since we never see him or link's reflection (unless i'm wrong, but still)
For the egg one at number 4, tensile strength and compression strength are different things. Pulling apart a cinder block although somewhat difficult, but it's nowhere near as hard as pushing a cinder block together. Sure it's a game, and its based in a fictional world.
4:14 rip flame emitter… it could of been used to burn the korok in the background
8:00
Zonai Worker: Going to go get some wheel for what we're working on.
Other Worker: Ok, but you better take a lot of zonai charges as you never know what you're going to get from the randomized machine!
Link just listens to people so intensely that it's like time stops for him when others speak. He's just a really good listener.
2:31 oops I accidentally pressed my shield button with a flame emitter, or whoops I missed the bobkoblin. Guess theire won’t be any more trees until the next bloodmoon.
6:36 also I sold 50000 rupees worth of diamonds to her. She has money
The fact that the guardians from the first game just completely disappeared when they made totk
they don't disappear, their arms are used in the skyview towers
Imagine, there suddenly is a secret boss, a superpowered guardian, and afterwars, you unlike Terrako as a asssisting miniguarding
@@Coolstar_der_Clipper There is not a secret boss like a guardian, but something like that could happen in an DLC
Go to hateno village if you wan't to see guardian pieces
they obviously were removed
1:55. I had no idea I could do this lol.
I have one: Why is it that terry town residents can use the tram without a battery but link needs one?
I'm glad this video is spoler free! I've been avoiding every vid about this game but I decided to give a chance to yours and you didn't disappoint!
Kinda risky that THIS was the video you randomly took a chance on!
How do the deaths not flood or be completely full of radon? Water and radon, like all heavy fluids, want to go to the lowest level possible and the depths are somehow below the ocean? Radon even leaks out of cave walls because of radioactive decay in rocks. Also how can link breathe the air down there? It is completely full of spores and other nasty stuff. And don’t get me started on how all the impotent structures are below the villages. I mean even tarry town has something below it, and it was literally built in the last game. Did they just guess where the ruins were and decided to build a town over them?
I just assumed the portable pots are some kind of zonai induction stove
4:24 can't snow if there are no clouds that the snow is falling from. THat's also why it never rains and why there is always perfect weather on airplanes
1:43 I think the devs put that in as a little joke but also made it w warning
So concerning the fan equipped to your weapon or shield and how it doesn't affect your paraglider flight, the simple answer is that it's not turned on. Link generally has to interact with the Zonai device-fused items for them to be activated, otherwise he would be frozen/burned/blown to smithereens whenever he sheathed them or slung them on his back. However there's currently a glitch that can be performed which would have said device active in a passive state, and in that case it does affect your paraglider flight.
I was able to get into a device dispensers tube where they cone out and the outside doesnt look like the inside, the inside is just a half loop, like another dimension
The sky islands above Hebra is explained by the fact that they’re above the clouds. You may notice that everywhere in the sky is always on “sunny” weather, and that’s because they’re all above the clouds that would precipitate.
I assume Gannon took link’s vitality too which explains the stamina
17: There's no snow because it's above the clouds. Snow falls down, thus, no snow. The plants are all species that are tolerant to cold weather (that's a copout, I know)
19: he lost his stamina because he was in a coma for several months, at least. His hair basically doubled in length, so it could have been as long as a year. That'll certainly drain your stamina.
26: THAT's your problem with the paraglider? It halts Link's momentum too quickly? That it works at all is the biggest copout in this game!
28: Every shrine has a foyer, of sorts, that you see when you walk in. That foyer ends in another portal that opens up to the real shrine.
How can Link fall from the highest sky islands and land in water in still be fine? In reality, you’ll die
With the pura pad one at 8:07 the game design in BOTW shows us how that works; supposedly, the eye in the middle of it can come out and fly around you like a drone. I assume it's something similar for the Pura Pad.
1:15 the description of the hydrant tells you that there where water shortages once, but using hydrants they could generate water infinitely.
@infinitebits.. JESUS CHRIST ARE THESE BOTS TARGETTING ME OR SOMETHING???
YOU SPELLED PRIZE WRONG!!!
6:31: I feel you, brother. Those prices are crazy! 😲 Like, buy one of each if you’re rich, 🤑 and they’re STILL very expensive. What is this mess?! 😡
4:58 well the thing is, the time bombs don’t hurt link to begin with, which is extra strange.
8:08 I don’t know how it works in totk but in botw the camera part of the Sheikah slate comes out and flys allowing you to take pictures of yourself
For the last one it’s the same thing with how it worked on the Sheika slate a little camera pops off of it and link can move it around
something cool about 8:07 it says int the breath of the wild book that its a robot that comes out of the side
3:39 trees
0:58 Every try and an egg apart? Not that easy. Th metal box’s weight would be pull on the egg. Still is confusing though.
I like ultra hand in totk,it’s like the green light up Elmer’s glue that you can stick everything together with
0:33 Electrocution is when one is killed by an electric shock. Being hurt or touched by an electric current is simply called being shocked.
Another note of nr 5. One fan won't fall over, but if you attach another fan on it's side, they will fall over when you turn them on.
When the hydrants are pouring into a pit, the pit never fills up.
Ultrahand can grab any object, except if an enemy or NPC is currently holding it, then I can't grab it.
I can throw an armor shard and then reverse it, but when an enemy is wearing that armor I can't reverse the enemy.
Flowing water doesn't melt ice, when technically it should.
Fusing a monster's horn to a stick provides more damage than fusing an entire chunk of a castle several times Link's size to a stick.
The sky Temple of Time doesn't actually have anything in it except for some pointlessly rotating panels. No signs that it was used for any kind of ceremony or worship, it doesn't house any special object, nothing.
A spiky object on a build can smash through destructible stone and crates, but can't break ore veins.
Yeeessssss I’ve been waiting for this vid!!
