As the worst climber of all time, I can tell you that I could do that.
As someone who doesn't actually climb or do any sports, I could do that.

They should be allowed to compete. However, ANW needs to come up with obstacles that don't cater to upper body. More balance obstacles and finding a way to make extremely difficult lower body obstacles as well.
That's kind of what ended up turning me off of the show. I used to love it as a kid, but it got kind of repetitive because nearly every single obstacle is just sheer upper body strength. I don't think they should take them all away or anything, because there are some super interesting/challenging ones that are fun to watch, but it's less fun to see a whole obstacle course that's solely upper body strength. I agree on how they should incorporate obstacles that require other skills/parts of their bodies, I feel like it would really require an athlete to be super well-rounded to be able to accomplish it and make it a bit more exciting to watch.
Warp wall was a good test of running speed. They should do some sort of box jump ladder for vertical jump and endurance.
@@appa609agreed. I also like how the japanese version added a tackle obstacle whose purpose is to solely burn through the competitor’s legs prior to the warped wall to make it more difficult than normal.
Well that isnt hard, just add some long and high jump obstacles and some balance beam or other balance obstacles. Then the top heavy competitors will fall out. Problem is that this doesnt appeal to the American audience.
Also, mud. And water. There isnt enough mud and water. Or add a wife carrying section, the Baltics and Finns would dominate. Or make them chase after a wheel of cheese downhill.

I just looked it up and he’s 169 cm tall, which means the obstacle is like twice as hard for him as an average height Ninja Warrior. Sad ending

What first made this show great was how outlandish it was in Japan, with all the crazy characters, then a handful of athletic blue collar guys. Not pro climbers

I just climbed a 5.12- for the first time yesterday, so it’s safe to say I’m a pro climber
as I go from the Strength training section of my gym to the Calisthenics area , I always glance into the rock climbing room on passing, so hopefully I qualify .
Saying pro climbers shouldn’t be allowed on American Ninja Warrior is like saying pro track runners should be allowed to run marathons. They’re two very similar sports and just because they’ve trained for it doesn’t mean they have an unfair advantage.

Pro climbers are exactly the people who should be getting on American Ninja Warrior. The entire show is a competition for people across the country to see who is more athletically capable in a variety of different situations. And you're upset that the most athletically capable people are the ones who get on the show? I wouldn't watch the show at all if it was filled with people who don't know a single thing about gymnastics or climbing for the same reason I wouldn't buy tickets to an NFL or an NBA game if both teams were filled with toddlers. Who would've guessed that it's not entertaining if no one is good at it? Crazy. Find something worth being upset about.

Cause I'm depressed and stopped climbing I really want to climb more but it's so much work
I trust you will make time for the things you love my friend, if climbing majes you happy you should climb, even if it takes away time from more mundane things.
We should live doing what makes us happy and not striving for ehat others think makes up a succesfull life. Climb it will put a smile in your face you got this😼✊.
Sometimes, even if I don't really have the energy or will to do things I love, I just go and hang out at a place where my hobbies are taking place. Like, bringing a book or my phone to a rock climbing gym. It's tough, but I've found that helps me eventually put in the work to actually do things again
