I will turn 70 years old in may. I remember when taking my children to the theater to see the original top gun. And now I look forward to taking my grandchildren and my children to see the second one.

My dad LOVED Top Gun. It was honestly one of his favorite movies in the whole world. He wanted to see this movie so badly, and he wanted to take me and my brother to see it with him. but sadly, my dad passed away back in February. He was only 47 years old. My family and I are planning on going to see this film once it comes out, in memory of him.
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your father. He will be there with you in spirit so smile for him laugh for him and enjoy the ride with him 😃🙏

Top Gun 1986, the movie that literally change my life; when I saw this movie I was a kid back in Puerto Rico, watching this movie made me want to come to the USA with the dream of becoming a pilot. I did come to the USA and never looked back, didn’t become a pilot but the fact that it made me leave my country in the search of a dream took a role in my life that I don’t regret making. Thank you Tom Cruise.

I just got back home from watching it in IMAX. It's the best movie and cinematic experience i have ever had and ever will have i'm sure of it. I saw the movie yesterday and cannot stop thinking about it. Tom Cruise is the last real movie star who can still put people in the seats. I am so happy this movie broke the box office record for a Memorial Day weekend opening. He deserves it. Tom Cruise may just be responsible for saving the movie industry all together. Nothing is like seeing a movie on the BIG SCREEN! Bravo Tom Cruise!

idk...Cruise was pretty specific about a lot of things. He said he wouldn't do it, if it was gonna be garbage. Cruise has a lot of creative control...and he's a legit pilot and stunt guy at this stage of the game in life...so, I think it's gonna be good. Funny though, still no sign of Val Kilmer...lol. He looks ROUGH...in real life. They're gonna be CGI'in that mfer...lol...or he's gonna be all washed up in a rehab facility...something...haha.

Marine, military historian, combat movie fan. I've seen them all. This movie sequel was the best aerial combat movie I have ever seen. The 1st top gun was great, but this one was truly epic. So much that I will go see it 2 more times totaling 3 before it's off the big screens. I was 13 when top gun came out, now 48 and took my 15 yr old son. I hope he remembers this movie with pops. It was very special to me. Thank you Tom and entire cast crew for this awesome film.
This movie means so much to me. My grandpa was in the military and is still alive and healthy but my great grandpa he passed away but he flew for the navy. Now my dream is to fly for the navy like him. Ever since I’ve seen top gun I can’t get enough, I’ve been playing as many flight simulators as i can on an oculus quest 2 but im looking into DCS and VTOL Vr.

@@StaK_1980 I thought that also at first, but when I froze the vid on that scene, the character is wearing aviator wings, and Sundown was a RIO, so unless Sundown went back into the training pile-line and became an aviator (its happened), its not him.
Tom Cruise learned to fly for this movie - and I mean he learned to fly, like Superman. They added the fighter jets with CG.

This movie is one of the greatest films ever made. Tom Cruise never disappoints the audience. The man is a true daredevil, a perfectionist, and genius when it comes to his movie stunts and production. He risks his life for the audience. This film exceeds expectations!
Saw the original as kid with best friend, next day he climbed up onto his roof with a motorcyle helmet and a C64 joystick to recreate it. He recently retired after 20+ years 10 flying f18s and now an AA pilot. I was too scared to climb up on the roof thank you very much.

I had the privilege of running Top Gun in '86 in my 32 years in the theatre business. I am sad that I am not in that line of work to run Top Gun: Maverick. It would be exciting for me just to take tickets, work concession or projection, and chat with customers in the lobby after seeing this wonderful film.

When I was 7 years old my mother made me watch this movie, today I'm 25 and going to watch this movie in cinema with my friend. REALLY pumped up for this.
Maverick "Palpatine-ing" his way through the canyons was SENSATIONAL! Like good guy Pete Mitchell used both sides of the force to get this done. Grunts, twists, and turns that only Maverick could pull off... AWESOME
I have been a pilot for over 30 years. When he strokes the nose of the fighter, I almost cry thinking about how I do it every time I fly.
@@julianjadav8517 I'm going through flight training right now. Flying is the greatest experience Ive ever had. Just be prepared for a shit ton of studying. Its not easy. But if you truly want to fly, it doesn't even seem like work.
@@julianjadav8517 for sure man. It really is hard work. Flight training is extremely expensive and extremely difficult. But like I said before. I don't even mind it. I want to fly, its what I love and honestly I enjoy the hard work. I would recommend going and doing an intro flight at your closest airport. Its like $70-100. An instructor will take you up and let you fly around a bit, it really shows you a glimpse of what its like and if you want to do it or not.
@@brodehaynie9399 Not if you get a glider licence. Much cheaper and a great gateway drug for flying. The principles of flying are the same in a glider, Cessna or a F-14.

@@julianjadav8517 I'm 13, so I probably have no say, but flying is absolutely amazing! There are so many things I enjoy about it! Every time I step out onto the tarmac, all of the adrenaline in my body starts pumping and forces a smile on my face. Getting up in the air is an amazing feeling. Try and get started as soon as you can. It's lots of work though, and there is a lot of studying that goes into it, but knowing that it is going to bring you somewhere in life makes it easier. Go for it; I already am! As I always say, "Sometimes, you just have to get your feet off of the ground."

Why is it that important? It's not that great of a song. If you really want a throwback they should put Stranger Eyes by The Cars in the film. It was used in the trailers to get people excited but wasn't in the film or soundtrack at all.

When I saw this movie, Tom Cruise came on the screen before the film started and thanked everyone for coming out to see it. He said, they worked really hard on it, it was a long time in the making, and he hoped everyone would enjoy it. I really appreciated that. I've seen a lot of films and in the past twenty five years I can't recall that ever happening before in a movie. Bravo Mr. Cruise for not taking my patronage for granted.
It's been a long while since I got so excited watching a movie. Emotions and nostalgia started kicking in right from the opening scene. Had to watch it again the day after.

Just took my son and his buddy today. We LOVED this movie - and I am picky. Simply fantastic flying footage, great casting I was literally on the edge of my seat. See this is a theater!
That's how it was with my dad when we saw the original with a friend of mine. We later rewatched it on VHS,
I remember reading not long after the first movie came out the U.S. Navy experienced a jump in recruitment by about I think they said it was like 200%. They literally had so many people that were wanting to join the Navy to become fighter pilots and apparently they actually had to start turning people away. Now this of course was something like 30 some odd years ago. And well a lot has changed since then. Whether or not the U.S. Navy will experience another boom in recruitment is anybody’s guess. It certainly depends on the movie itself.
The original top gun was my father‘s favorite film. He was never able to join the Navy but he always wanted to. Unfortunately being denied due to a heart murmur. But he absolutely adored the first movie. He would watch it probably at least once every couple of weeks. And it always had to be using stereo sound.
He and I had always hoped that in the unlikely event that they did make a sequel the two of us would go and watch it. Unfortunately he passed away in 2016. But I have made it my mission that I will make sure that I go see this movie not for myself but for my father.

Came back after watching this awaited movie and now the trailer for 2 years and it was one of the best if not the best movie for 2022! Definitely, worth the wait, I enjoyed it very much.
I wasn't even alive when the first TOP GUN was released. but over the years I've grown to become a huge Tom Cruise fan because he is an actor who actually cares about the craft of movie making, and as someone who is considered the most patriotic person in his family I am so insanely hyped for this movie.
