I just don't see the point in being a Zimmer clone, especially when his music is very empty and repetitive. It's simply the result of Hans playing one-finger piano. No reason for him to turn the orchestra into some sort of rhythm machine. I deeply believe that this modern day scoring style was all based on Hans having no idea what to do early on when he was handed films, but the "disasters" ended up creating a style which appeals to the masses because simply rhythmic elements appeal to the "primitive."
